Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring an Experienced or Senior Structural Design Engineer for advanced aircraft development programs located in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
• Develop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
• Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
• Manage supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
• Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• (Level 3): 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• (Level 4): 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Position Responsibilities:

The Role We Want You For

The Senior Project Manager will be based on the construction project site and will be responsible for taking projects from conceptual stages through closeout. Provide leadership, technical direction, and deliver the best solutions on design-build projects valued anywhere from a $60 million to over $250 million. At Clayco, a Senior Project Manager is responsible for assisting with preconstruction, buying out contracts, and managing the project from start to finish.

Responsibilities for Construction Project Manager:

· Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project

· Negotiation of Contracts

· Produce and track Submittals, Shop Drawings, RFI’s, Change Orders, Schedules, Pay Applications and Project Closeouts

· Coordinate order and schedule delivery of materials

· Manage actual costs in order to meet budgeted costs

· Manage construction schedule and activities in conjunction with project superintendents

· Issue weekly progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines

· Manage relationships with general contractors, owners, and suppliers

Qualifications for Construction Project Manager:

· Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture

· 3+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry

· Comfortable reading and understanding drawings and specifications

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software

· Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles

· Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

You will provide high level support to the project staff to ensure quality and timely execution of design-build projects from design to completion. These phases include: Scheduling, subcontractor buyout, cost reporting, preparation of subcontracts, the handling of owner coordination, construction quality oversight, and project closeout. You may run smaller projects on your own, mentor Project Engineers, Summer Construction Interns, and take on the additional responsibilities to become a Project Manager.

• Participate with project team and preconstruction services in development of a Project Chart of Accounts.
• Coordinate with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan.
• Assist Superintendent in the management of subcontractors.
• Maintain understanding of the Clayco/Owner contract.
• Oversee the submittal, change order, and pay request process.
• Assist in generation of project costs and Job Cost Report.
• Contribute to the analyzing and forecast of quarterly Total Cost Projection reports.
• Monitor and record training of all staff personnel.

Responsibilities range from project set up, project buy out, contract execution and compliance, material procurement, progress tracking, material invoice approval, responsible for project sequencing and scheduling, maintaining and updating schedules, coordination and communication with General Contractor, change order distribution/tracking, coordination with Estimators, cost report job forecasting, overall project fiscal responsibility.

• Serve as primary contact to customers on projects.
• Establish and maintain schedules with regard to both drawings and delivery. Work with suppliers to ensure that internal schedule is consistent with job schedule and manage schedule changes internally.
• Work closely with accounting to establish and manage a schedule of values for progress billing.
• Coordinate with subcontractors.
• Maintain project budget throughout each project, with profit and loss accountability.
• Identify opportunities for change orders and establish cost where applicable.
• Prepare, issue and track change order status for material above and beyond the original contract.
• Review purchase orders and specifications on new jobs to ensure the scope of work is consistent with the estimate.
• Minimize job site and schedule problems wherever possible and minimize cost impact of potential back charges.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience.
• Bachelors degree in Construction management or Engineer recommended.
• Knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
• Problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
• Project set up, budget planning, buy out, and cost reporting experience is a must.
• Good understanding of critical path scheduling.
• Energetic and highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
