Diesel Technician/Mechanic

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced engine technician to add to our team. Knowledge of Cat, Cummins, Detroit and Paccar are required. 2 years of experience and diesel trade school degree preferred.

Hogue Diesel Service LLC is a family owned, independent repair shop that works on all makes of trucks and trailers. We are growing and looking for an experienced diesel mechanic to add to our team. Experience is preferred, but we will consider training entry level mechanics. The ideal candidate will have experience in a/c, electrical, air brakes, and diesel engine diagnostics (with use of multiple programs). Knowledge of all aspects of truck repair including engines, transmissions, rear ends, emissions, electrical, accessories, ABS, PTOs, PMs and performing DOT inspections. The ability to be on call and operate a service truck for on-site and roadside repairs is a plus.

Responsibilities:

* Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses repair, and maintenance.
* Technical knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software used to diagnose vehicle issues.
* Must have a solid grasp of local, state, and federal DOT laws, policies, and procedures for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
* Communicate effectively with other shop employees and supervisors.
* Diagnose and make recommendations on repairs as required.
* Perform repairs and modifications on all styles of tractors and trailers.
* Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
* Follow company protocol when checking lights, tires, greasing, adjusting brakes, and checking framework on trailers.
* Perform all types of welding (i.e. aluminum, steel, and stainless steel).
* Use of a computer to login/log out orders and invoices.
* Change oil, air, and fuel filters.

*Service Technician Requirements:*

* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Diesel Engine Specialist or related degree from a secondary institution position a plus.
* Valid driver's license.
* Class A cdl is a plus but not required.
* Dependable and reliable attendance required.
* Basic computer skills and knowledge.
* Ability to lift and carry items up to 75 pounds.
* Frequent bending and twisting.
* Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
* Must have your own tools.

Note: This job may require working in various weather conditions and occasionally lifting heavy objects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
