Virtual HIL Commissioning Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)

Rate: $35/hr.w2 (max)

JD:

The Virtual Test Engineer is responsible for delivering a stable and representative test environment to perform automated testing and functional integration of distributed features. This engineer should be capable of working with various Engineering Support teams including systems, wiring, design release engineers, and software teams as required to validate electrical features on the bench and resolve any electrical issues before it gets to production to support successful vehicle launch. Responsibilities include:

• Identify system boundaries and define requirements for simulator I/O, instrumentation, and automation solutions

• Define test scope and instrumentation strategies

• Model, Simulate powertrain features

• Help with commissioning of features related to transmission, engine and other powertrain module

• Collaborates with core engineers, suppliers, feature experts and test engineers to design, implement and troubleshoot instrumentation as required

• Review component level electrical schematics and functional specifications and translate the requirements into hardware and signal requirements for virtual implementation

• Validate and troubleshoots simulator and maintain test benches

• Troubleshoots vehicle systems and test environment functionality to minimize false positive incident reports

What you need for this position:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

• Relevant automotive experience

• Knowledge of CAN based communication and diagnostic tools – Vector CANalyzer/CANoe

• Proficient with Modeling

• Good knowledge and understanding of DSpace Tools – config desk, automation desk, control desk etc..

• Proficiency in the understanding of embedded controller networks (CAN, LIN)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with development and verification of plant and control models in Matlab/Simulink for execution in hardware in the loop test environments

• Experience with dSpace hardware architecture, design, setup, and troubleshooting

• Bench functional integration, test execution, measuring and instrumentation experience

The Junior Electrical Engineer will support the integration and coordination of vehicle electrical architecture, system specifications, documentation releases, and change management activities. The role involves assisting in requirements analysis, vehicle configuration (PROXI), and supporting early-stage vehicle builds at the assembly plant.

This position works closely with cross-functional teams to help ensure timely delivery of program milestones and electrical system integration activities.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support cross-functional coordination to help meet program deliverables and timelines

• Ability to organize and document technical information clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Lead the validation activities for Slate Interior program as primary interface to Engineering, out-source test labs, suppliers, DV vehicle fleet, etc.

Position Summary:

Working within the Document Control Department, this person will analyze and review engineering and documentation additions and changes for accuracy, completeness and compliance to company and customer’s requirements. Duties will include creating part numbers for assemblies, fabricated and commercial parts. In addition, this position will be responsible for creating and altering multilevel BOMs, and submitting Engineering Change Orders.

Position Responsibilities:

• Generate Bill of Materials and Routings, assigning documentation and/or part/program numbers as applicable, device history records, and issuance of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure that proper procedures are being followed when making changes, additions and deletions.
• Maintain the Change Control Process. This includes the preparation of change requests, insuring the appropriate functional reviews and sign-off, and maintaining the records of the changes. Post changes to computerized or manual records, release documents, and notify affected departments.
• Consult with engineers, managers, and sales to prepare documents and change requests. Work with document originators to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain established data distribution system and expedite review, signature approval, and release of documentation in a timely manner.

• Development of a Master Data Management Tool together with the global team to streamline processes.

Role Summary:

The Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) is accountable for global ownership of NXP’s strategic relationship with the Automotive OEM, spanning all regions, vehicle platforms, and program lifecycles. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Instrumentation and Calibration Engineer has the responsibility for ensuring the site’s production instruments are operating at optimal levels and properly maintained to data collection in an FDA regulated environment. The position will be primarily responsible for ensuring all instruments are maintained in a calibrated state. Additionally, the Engineer will support general troubleshooting of production equipment/utilities, and asset management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Support the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program through the creation of new PM tasks, evaluation of existing PMs for technical relevance to current asset problems.
• Help create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation, engineering analyses, PM and calibration tasks, that adhere to FDA and cGMP requirements.
• Support the management of the calibrations on production instruments, such as temperature sensors (RTDs/resistance thermometers), pressure sensors (electronic manometers, gauges), and other transmitters.
• Support root cause investigations to a detailed level required for an FDA regulated/cGMP environment, and translate these root causes to effective CAPAs that mitigate equipment risk.
• Assesses and monitors equipment for reliability of operation implementing necessary improvements
• Maintains system classification of incoming equipment with the system owner. Duties may include assembly of supplier operating and maintenance manuals, installation and operational qualification.
• Translate data from Root Cause Centered Maintenance (RCCM) data to support Autonomous Maintenance program. Train Operations personnel in Autonomous Maintenance.
• Maintain calibration records, and qualification of calibration contractor.
• Manages risk to achieve organization's strategic objectives in areas of environmental health and safety, asset capability, quality, and production.
• Conducts risk analyses routinely when production equipment is functioning outside of expected parameters
• Develops Total Cost of Ownership, Mean Time to Failure, Life Cycle Cost, Mean Time to Repair, specific to critical equipment in the production areas.
• Runs process improvement projects from design thru implementation. Apply Root Cause Centered Maintenance (RCCM) to develop improved preventive maintenance tasks.
• Executes changes through to completion, from initiation of change controls to revising SWIs, coordinating work with Maintenance/Engineering, etc., to close out of CCs
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization
• Participates in and execute qualification and validation of equipment and processes

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE.

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 3 years of experience in a related or similar field, or
• Associate’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline and at least 5 years of experience.

About the Role

We are looking for a Power Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This individual will help design, size and specify power distribution from MV though LV. This person will be involved in concept investigation, system verification, design through successful installation.

Basic Qualifications & Responsibilities

• Proven expertise in the design, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low- and medium-voltage AC distribution systems, including power distribution, control systems, and wiring.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and other technical teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Experience in the development of electrical construction packages comprised of:
• Single Line Diagrams
• Three Line Diagrams
• Schematics/Elementary Diagrams
• Interconnection Diagrams
• Written narratives
• Proficient in interpreting and applying electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical diagrams to support system design and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of 3 Phase Power Systems, Power Factor correction, Harmonics mitigation.
• Interpret/Draft AC Distribution schematic drawings.
• Ability to load balance and perform load calculations.
• Knowledgeable of the requirements detailed in the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
• Experience with power system modeling tools - ETAP preferred.
• Adept at the use of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. Knowing Revit is a plus.
• Communicate effectively with both the business and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.
• Familiar with Automotive standards and specification.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power Platform solutions, identifying, and resolving issues promptly.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for solutions, workflows, and processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity.
• Familiarity with various cable types (e.g., multi-conductor, fiber optic, coaxial, twisted pair, power) and their specifications for system integration and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution and minimum of 7 years in power distribution applications.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license and US Passport with no travel restrictions.
