Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for the assembly of panelboards, switchgear, bus systems, wiring harnesses, and control panels.

How You'll Contribute:

The installation technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field position for the bulk of the actual work that gets done in our clients buildings. The install tech needs to coordinate with project management, field superintendents and others to fully understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. This installation can include displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, etc. Will also provide advice and guidance to Associate Installation Technicians as necessary.

Complexity:

This level of technician will be responsible for performing tasks on clients job sites with little supervision. On smaller projects this position may be responsible for the coordination with clients, contractors and subcontractors.

Decision Making Authority:

This position is often alone on the job sites and requires making good judgement about decisions that need to be made. In general the project manager and a site supervisor are available to answer questions. This position requires good diplomacy in working with our clients and other key stakeholders on the job sites.

This role partners closely with Engineering Documentation leadership to ensure documentation and support workflows are effectively leveraged, allowing Design Engineering resources to remain focused on technical leadership and client-facing responsibilities.

• Own the performance, development, and accountability of Engineering Managers leading Design Engineering teams, setting clear expectations and holding leaders responsible for team results, delivery quality, and professional growth.
  
  
• Establish and sustain a culture of ownership and accountability across the engineering organization by defining measurable standards for project delivery, documentation quality, and client satisfaction, and addressing performance gaps directly.
  
  
• Drive engineering efficiency and profitability by identifying misaligned workflows, reducing non-value-added engineering effort, and ensuring appropriate use of engineering support and documentation resources.
  
  
• Partner with Support Engineering leadership to ensure effective utilization of engineering support teams, removing barriers that prevent smooth handoff and enabling Engineers to focus on high-value technical work.
  
  
• Ensure Engineers are consistently focused on client relationship development, execution planning, technical accuracy, and system functionality throughout the project lifecycle.
  
  
• Maintain visibility into presales pipeline and active project lifecycle status, comparing as-sold versus as-delivered labor, identifying value-engineering opportunities, and supporting financial performance improvement.
  
  
• Collaborate with Field and Fabrication Services and Project Management leadership to align engineering capacity with project demand, participating in resource planning and ensuring engineering support meets business needs.
  
  
• Establish, enforce, and audit engineering standards and delivery processes that support consistent, high-quality outcomes, reducing variability and improving first-time quality across projects.
  
  
• Serve as the senior escalation point for engineering-related issues impacting project delivery or client satisfaction, intervening when projects are off track and guiding recovery plans with responsible managers.
  
  
• Provide leadership input on hiring, succession planning, and organizational design for Engineering Manager roles, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and cultural expectations.
  
  
• Track, analyze, and act on key engineering performance metrics, including utilization, margin contribution, rework rates, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  
  

Required Skills and Experience

• 
  
  
• Bachelor Degree Required, preferably in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  
  
• 10+ years of experience in systems integration, audiovisual engineering, or a related technical field with progressive leadership responsibility.
  
  
• 3+ years of experience managing managers or leading large, multi-project technical teams.
  
  
• AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
  Demonstrated success improving team performance and delivering measurable business results.
  
  
• Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing engineering standards and processes at scale.
  
  
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning.
  
  
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Project Management, and Field & Fabrication Services.
  
  
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, system schematics, and technical specifications.
  
  
• Financial acumen, including labor forecasting, project budgets, and margin impact analysis.
  
  
• Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and resolution.
  
  
• Effective written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive-level engagement.

Position Overview:

The Axel Group is working with a well-established heavy civil contractor that specializes in large public infrastructure projects across New Jersey. With a strong pipeline of municipal water, sewer, and storm utility work, they’re looking to add an experienced Project Manager to their growing project management team. This Project Manager will take the lead on public works projects from preconstruction through completion, helping ensure projects stay on schedule, on budget, and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout while applying strongproject management practices to keep scope, schedule, and budgets on track.
• Handle the buyout process, including negotiating and issuing subcontracts and purchase orders for materials and equipment.
• Manage permits, inspections, and compliance with municipal agencies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit monthly pay applications, change orders, and project updates to engineers and public stakeholders.
• Ensure all work follows contract documents, municipal specifications, and jobsite safety standards.
• Work closely with field superintendents and support the Project Manager team to keep production moving and milestones on schedule.
• Serve as a key part of the project management team, coordinating with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors throughout the project.
• Monitor project budgets, track costs, and address potential issues before they impact schedule or profitability.
• Run project meetings and provide regular updates to internal leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil or underground utility construction, ideally working as a Project Manager or in a project management role on public or municipal projects.
• Experience managing water main, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, or similar infrastructure projects from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of public bid work, municipal specifications, and construction documentation.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and change orders while keeping projects profitable.
• Comfortable coordinating crews, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and municipal stakeholders.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

JOB TITLE: Assistant Scientist/Engineer

Location: Summit, NJ (100% onsite)

• 10% to 20% of the time in an office environment.

• 80% to 90% of the time in a manufacturing and/or laboratory setting.

• The incumbent may travel between NJ sites Summit and New Brunswick sites to access different laboratories and equipment for the execution of experiments

The Associate Scientist/Engineer is responsible for supporting studies to establish oral solid formulations. This includes execution of laboratory and pilot plant work, design experimental formulation studies, and conduct material characterization and formulation testing.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of formulation development.

• Knowledge of data trending and tracking, including use of statistical analysis software a plus.

• Demonstrate advanced problem-solving ability / mentality, technical adeptness and logical thinking.

• Ability to communicate honestly, transparently, and effectively with peers, department management and cross functional peers.

Education and Experience:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in science or engineering or related engineering discipline (advanced degree preferred).

• Minimum 0-3 years of relevant work experience

• Previous experience working in formulation development or spray dried dispersion preferred.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

• Experience in oral formulation preparation and testing techniques, including HPLC and dissolution is required.

• Experience conducting material characterization, using DSC and TGA preferred.

Pilot scale batch manufacture with common oral development technologies

General material characterization experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct development activities related to developing oral formulations

• Design and optimize formulation using design of experience approach.

• Conduct material characterization and formulation testing.
