  • Functions as a technical resource, performing complex assays and providing training and mentoring to other HLA staff.
  • Performs standardized and high-complexity histocompatibility testing on various types of clinical samples.
  • May perform tests in one scientific discipline or perform selected tests in multiple disciplines (crosstrain DNA/serology).
    • Tests may include: HLA antibody screen and identification, crossmatching, typing, and engraftment monitoring.

  • Bachelor's degree may be waived for a medical technologist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirement by ASCP and a HEW/HHS technologist certified by Health and Human Services.
  • Two years of medical technology or HLA experience. (Medical Laboratory Technician experience is pro-rated).
  • Certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP) or categorical, MT(AMT), MT(HHS or HEW), MT(AAB), CHT(ACHI), CHS(ACHI).

Experience:



• 18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.



• Must have at least 18 months of Telemetry Unit experience within the past 3 years.



Requirements:



• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).



• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.



• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.



• No current placement allowed at Program: AMN Program - Emory Healthcare.
