As an Electro Mechanical Technician, you will work with internal and external teams to execute varied maintenance, capital, and continuous improvement plans with minimal supervision. A strong understanding of automated electrical and mechanical systems is key to your success in this role.

 

In this team-based environment, you will be looked upon to train, mentor, and guide the work of less experienced technicians within your group.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Execute predefined maintenance and continuous improvement plans.
  • Identify gaps, breakdowns, and opportunities in equipment and integrated factory systems.
  • Drive maintenance and process improvements to implementation or resolution.
  • Identify, plan, and execute work to troubleshoot, repair, modify, or install complex manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Work with Stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend or develop plans and designs to fulfill.
  • Assist other technicians and technical teams as priorities dictate, time allows, or as directed.
  • Complete or assist with special projects and/or other duties as directed.

Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering and or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated systems and equipment.
  • Proficient mechanical, electrical and PLC skills (Rockwell, Siemens, and Beckhoff preferred)
  • Experience with Laser Guided Vehicles and Autonomous Mobile Robots is preferred.
  • Experience with robotic system (Fanuc preferred).
  • Experience with vision and quality gate sytems.
  • Ability to understand complex instructions and diagrams.
  • Ability to work efficiently within standards, revision control, and change management rules.
  • Ability to use and understand precision testing and diagnostic equipment.

The Shipboard Effectors Department is currently searching for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer II to work on a multi-discipline team to support the production of Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems located in Huntsville, AL.

This is an onsite role with regular support required in a production missile integration facility.

This position requires strong communication skills to collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality. Experience with hardware integration and test, supplier first article inspections, production work instructions and failure investigation principals are strongly desired.

Candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Team Leads/Program Managers to ensure that engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed, and schedules/budgets are met. Candidate will ensure Technical Data Packages are maintained and updated as necessary. Decisions must be data driven in nature and require preparing technical justification analysis reports as well as presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to finding solutions to a wide range of technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical subsystems, including support in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon and at suppliers
  • Support first article inspections, work instruction reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations for production issues. Decisions are data driven and require preparing technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards
  • Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, subassemblies, and end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical issues
  • Regular onsite support at Missile Integration Facility

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs PM procedures on multiple types of general and specialized clinical equipment.

Performs PM procedures using manufacturer’s recommendations, standards or code requirements, as well as industry acceptable processes as guidelines.

Performs corrective maintenance procedures including diagnosing problems using thermodynamic, electronic/electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or other sciences and documents results of activities performed to comply with all regulatory and standard requirements.

Notifies equipment users, CE Managers, and Regional Director of repair status and delays as necessary.

Interacts with clinical staff to understand and resolve operational problems in scheduling and completing PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospital departments.

Determines need for replacement parts and supplies, selects the most cost effective source, and submits properly completed parts request using established policies and guidelines.

Completes corrective and planned maintenance work order documentation per policy.

Promotes teamwork by keeping others informed, participating effectively in group decision making, works to accomplish team objectives and projects, and solicits feedback about one's effectiveness as a team member.

Continually improves processes by seeking ways to eliminate and reduce waste.

Provides assistance and training to Bio-Medical Equipment Technician I as assigned by Clinical Engineering Management.

May be assigned duties as Lead Bio-Medical Equipment Technician, as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested by the CE Manager.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in related field of medical electronics, electronic technology or equivalent military or related training required.  CBET certification preferred.

Three to five years experience or equivalent, performing corrective and planned maintenance on medical devices and/or clinical support equipment. 

Must have a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Working knowledge and ability to use basic hand tools and  test equipment specific to the field.  Ability to train CE associates  on use and application of select test equipment.

Must have knowledge and understanding of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, CAHO, EOC, FDA and other specific regulations and standards pertaining to clinical equipment service and repair.
