Atkore currently has openings for Machine Operator/Coilers in our New Bedford, MA facility. All openings will be 3rd Shift (Midnight - 8am), Monday through Friday (occasional overtime may be required including weekends) however training may take place on any shift.
Responsibilities include set up, operation, inspection and adjustment of large and/or heavy coiling equipment. This role requires lifting up to 70 lbs as well as pushing/pulling of coiling materials, completion of necessary paperwork and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent education and experience strongly preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in an environment with loud noises, smells and/or extreme temperatures at times.
- Basic Math skills required.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, bend, sit and stand without assistance.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performs daily safety inspection of forklift and work area.
- Communicates with the previous shift.
- Operates fork truck following safety rules and procedures.
- Follow the maximum load limits and understanding the center of gravity and its effects on load limits and how to secure loads.
- Transports finished goods and raw material to the designated areas.
- Loading and Unloading trailers properly following inspection of all floors and walls of all incoming trailers before loading.
- Secure trailer wheel chocks, install glad hand locks, trailer jacks when appropriate and complete the AFC Loading Dock Safety Sign Off Sheet.
- Wrap steel returnable skids.
- Turn in all finished goods inventory tickets.
- Ensure the wrapping area is clean and organized.
- Performs housekeeping of machine and area.
Qualifications include:
- Proficient with all material handling and packaging devices including forklifts, pallet jacks and banding tools.
- The ability to understand and follow plant safety rules, such as wearing required PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, and gloves)
- Able to prioritize tasks and anticipate needs in order to effectively manage time in order to accomplish all tasks.
- Ability to perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to understand, interpret and carry out instructions in English.
- Good work ethic and good attendance is mandatory.

Position Summary:
This role is responsible to lead the day-to-day activities of the department operations in a retail store, ensuring the associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, operating at company standards and meeting all company goals and key performance indicators.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Be responsible to order and maintain inventory in your department, while utilizing inventory control procedures to ensure product freshness and quality.

Micro assembly usingmanual die attach with conductive epoxy, wedge wire bonding and parallel gapwelding techniques necessary in manufacturing high frequency RF products.
Key Responsibilities:
/n
- Prepare components for standard micro assembly.
/n
- Perform rework and repair operations on electronic parts to correct defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
/n
- Follow established Quality Assurance Standards to inspect in process electrical, RF microwave or mechanical components/assemblies by microscope.
/n
- Read and interpret assembly drawings.
/n
- Train, explain procedures and techniques to other assemblers.
/n
- Confer with supervisors, test technicians, engineers and quality to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems.
/n
- Perform other duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time, with or without notice.

- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, operation procedures.

- Proficient in use of microscope, tweezers, epoxy mounting, die mounting procedures.

- Strong oral comprehension and expression to understand and communicate ideas.

- Efficient time management skills.

- Experience in use of wire bonder and welding machine. Near vision, ability to focus and see detail.

- Finger dexterity, ability to grasp and manipulate small parts.
/n
- Hand/eye coordination, ability to hold and control equipment.

- Assembly line work indoors in an environmentally controlled environment.

Required Qualifications andExperience:
/n
- High School degree/GED.
/n
- Minimum 2 years assembly experience.
/n
- Must complete a skill evaluation replicating required job function during interview.
/n

The Salary Rangefor this position is $25.00-$28.00. Actual salary offered to candidate willdepend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location,relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, andabilities.
