Job Description
Job Title: Regional EHS Coordinator
Reports to: Sr. Manager of Safety
Overview: The Regional EHS Coordinator is responsible for achieving health and safety goals through proactive safety management. This role develops and implements safety programs, provides training, and assists in environmental program monitoring within their assigned region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor safety and health programs.
- Develop safety practices specific to operational hazards.
- Train and coach employees on safety issues.
- Manage contractor safety compliance.
- Conduct incident investigations and EHS audits.
- Collaborate with the environmental department on training and inspections.
- Monitor spill prevention, chemical handling, and waste disposal.
- Analyze incident trends and develop preventive solutions.
- Evaluate equipment, procedures, and training for safety improvements.
- Maintain specific safety programs (e.g., contractor safety, fall prevention).
Qualifications:
- BS in Health and Safety preferred; 3-5 years of industrial safety experience required.
- Proficient in local, state, and federal health and safety laws.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills in diverse environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight.
- Flexible schedule to meet operational needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
- Capable of sitting, keyboarding, and mobility for extended periods.
- Visual acuity for detailed work and facility inspections.
