Position Overview

The Head Distiller / Director of Operations will be responsible for leading all distillation, production, and operational functions of the distillery. This includes recipe development, production planning, quality control, barrel management, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

This role will partner closely with ownership to build and scale Koltiska Distillery into a premier spirits business rooted in the heritage and landscape of Sheridan and the Bighorn Mountains.

The ideal candidate combines technical distillation expertise with strong operational leadership—someone who can craft exceptional spirits while also designing systems and processes that support growth in production, distribution, and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead all distillation and production operations including mashing, fermentation, distillation, aging, and bottling

·        Develop and refine recipes for whiskey, bourbon, rye, and other craft spirits

·        Oversee quality control processes to ensure consistency and excellence in all products

·        Manage production scheduling and capacity planning

·        Design and implement standard operating procedures across the distillery

·        Monitor yields, fermentation performance, and production efficiency

·        Oversee barrel management including filling, storage, aging, and inventory tracking

·        Source and manage relationships with grain suppliers, cooperages, and other production vendors

·        Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations including reporting to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau

·        Manage production records, batch tracking, and compliance documentation

·        Work closely with leadership on product development, brand strategy, and portfolio expansion

·        Support the tasting room and hospitality teams with product knowledge and training

·        Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on new releases and product storytelling

·        Assist in equipment planning, distillery layout optimization, and facility expansion

·        Build and lead the production team as the distillery grows

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Fermentation Science, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required

·        5–10+ years of distilling, brewing, fermentation, or beverage production experience

·        Experience in craft distilling strongly preferred

·        Deep knowledge of fermentation science, distillation techniques, and spirit maturation

·        Strong understanding of TTB regulations and compliance requirements

·        Experience managing production operations and teams

·        Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with distillation equipment

Role Overview

The EVP will enhance and lead the Company’s enterprise infrastructure during a period of accelerated expansion. Core Responsibilities


Enterprise Building & Scale

·       Augment and implement the Company’s operating infrastructure to support multi-project and multi-platform growth.

·       Enhance internal reporting systems and KPIs to drive accountability and performance visibility.

·       Lead cross-functional integrations including new business lines, acquisitions, or partnerships if/when added.

·       Develop business plans to support new opportunities (Verticals, YouTube, etc.) including financial analysis, opportunity scoping, etc.


Financial Strategy & Capital Stewardship

·       Partner with Polarity CFO to oversee finance, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and capital allocation. 

·       Implement disciplined greenlight processes and reporting frameworks.

·       Partner with leadership and the Board on financing structures, investor engagement, and long-range capital strategy.

 

Business Affairs & Deal Making

·       Oversee business affairs, deal structures and strategy in concert with company leadership and the board.

·       Lead deal negotiations with studios, networks, and streaming platforms with Polarity team as partners

·       “Quarterback” the coms and momentum on deals internally.

·       Structure project financing including equity, co-production arrangements, and tax incentives in close partnership with Studio Finance and Production Partnerships.


Operational Partnership with Creative Leadership

·       Translate content strategy into operational execution plans.

·       Align production calendars, staffing models, and vendor relationships with content volume targets.

·       Balance entrepreneurial agility with risk management discipline.

·       Serve as execution partner to creative leadership.

 

Organizational Design & Talent Infrastructure

·       Collaborate with Polarity, company leadership and board to develop and scale high-performing teams across Company’s operational verticals.

·       Implement performance management systems appropriate for a creative yet growth-oriented culture.

Cross-Functional & External Coordination

·       Partner closely with Legal on rights management, guild compliance, contracts, and risk mitigation.

·       Support licensing, distribution, and consumer products initiatives from an operational standpoint.

 

Board Engagement & Governance

·       Position will collaborate with Polarity, board, and designated investor leads to enable smooth oversight and governance.

Qualifications

·       10 to 15 years of progressive leadership experience within the entertainment and media industry, including meaningful exposure to production environments in Hollywood.

·       Demonstrated experience in a scaling studio, IP-driven business, or multi-platform content company.

This role will drive the adoption of AI-powered capabilities across platforms to enhance employee experience, operational efficiency, and business agility.

The Team

You will lead a multi-disciplinary global team, including senior managers and specialized platform experts. The team is collaborative, agile, and focused on innovation and accountability. You will foster a high-performance, inclusive culture and develop talent strategies to build AI fluency and platform expertise across the organization.

The Impact:

- Develop and execute a 1–3+ year strategic roadmap for enterprise enablement platforms with a focus on AI integration, automation, and intelligent workflows
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Research & Development teams to embed AI capabilities into platform services (e.g., virtual agents, intelligent routing, predictive analytics)
- Lead platform modernization efforts, ensuring alignment with digital transformation and AI-first strategies
- Promote a culture of innovation by enabling employees to contribute ideas and participate in proof-of-concept initiatives
- Oversee platform governance, performance, and lifecycle management across enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, Microsoft, Slack, Zoom, Teams, and Atlassian
- Define and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and AI-driven metrics to ensure platform reliability, adoption, and value realization
- Optimize licensing, usage, and cost efficiency through data-driven insights and automation
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on platform and AI enablement opportunities
- Collaborate with business, IT, security, and compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment and adoption
- Lead change management efforts to drive user engagement and maximize ROI from platform investments
- Manage, coach, and motivate a global team while building a strong, diverse talent pipeline
- Manage vendor relationships and external partnerships
- Execute operational strategy with latitude in day-to-day decision-making
- Implement short- to medium-term strategies (1–3 years); contribute to broader strategic planning
- Manage teams performing multiple functions/disciplines, including exempt and non-exempt employees

The Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Proven track record in managing and scaling enterprise platforms (ServiceNow, Microsoft Copilot, Slack, Zoom, Teams, Atlassian)
- Deep understanding of AI technologies and their application in enterprise environments
- Experience leading platform modernization and AI transformation initiatives
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing large-scale budgets
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills
- Authorized to work in the U.S.

The Ideal Qualifications

- Experience with AI/ML platforms (e.g., Azure AI, OpenAI, ServiceNow AI, Microsoft Copilot)
- Familiarity with agile, DevOps, and product management methodologies
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field
- Excellent facilitation, collaboration, and change management skills
- Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making
- Ability to work across all organizational levels and in complex environments
- Global travel flexibility and self-driven work ethic
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, solve problems resourcefully, and work well under pressure
- Experience with strategic planning, business development, or stakeholder management
