Role Description
We are seeking a motivated Environmental Scientist / Technician with 2-4 years of experience performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with ASTM standards and Texas regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, enjoys fieldwork, and wants to grow within the environmental due diligence and remediation space.
Key Responsibilities
Phase I ESA Duties
- Conduct site inspections and property reconnaissance.
- Review historical sources (aerials, city directories, topographic maps, etc.).
- Review regulatory databases for environmental records.
- Interview site contacts, property owners, and relevant agencies.
- Identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and prepare clear, defensible findings.
- Prepare complete Phase I ESA reports following ASTM E1527.
Phase II ESA Duties
- Assist in planning and executing soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling events.
- Oversee drilling operations, direct-push sampling, and monitoring well installation.
- Collect soil, groundwater, and soil vapor samples in accordance with industry standards.
- Perform field screening and document field notes, chain-of-custody, and sample logs.
- Coordinate with certified laboratories for sample analysis.
- Contribute to Phase II ESA reporting, including data interpretation and summary tables.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GPS/GIS data collection.
- TRRP (Texas Risk Reduction Program) familiarity.
- Experience with groundwater sampling techniques (low flow, bailers, etc.).
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expert technical review for consultant projects, including reports, contract plans and specifications for conventional geotechnical as well as dam and flood control projects.
- Provide review of consultant led design work on dam projects. Types of review may include safety inspections and hazard classification screenings, hazard classification assessments, Engineering Assessments, and contract documents.
- Work as a member of the project design team, both in-house and consultant led, to develop construction level documents for conventional geotechnical and dam projects.
- Prepare, coordinate, and oversee geotechnical field exploration programs for in-house design projects.
- Review of subsurface exploration logs and laboratory geotechnical testing results.
- Prepare and/or review design calculations required to develop geotechnical recommendations. Types of calculations may be expected to include allowable soil bearing capacity, total and differential settlements, geotechnical capacity of deep foundation systems, excavation support systems, site retaining walls, subgrade modulus for slabs-on-grade, slope stability, and pavement design (both flexible and rigid).
- Development of geotechnical engineering technical memorandums, evaluations, and reports presenting design and construction recommendations for foundations, floor slabs, site development, site retaining walls and below-grade walls, groundwater control, excavation support, and pavement.
- Perform dam safety inspections, including review of existing conditions of earthen embankments and concrete gravity structures, to verify conformance with NYSDEC dam safety regulations and guidelines.
- Perform site visits to provide technical expertise required to address issues which may be encountered during construction. Additional site visits may be required to address emergency conditions which develop.
- Provide technical assistance to other divisions within OGS D&C.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Some travel is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geology, or related field.
- Master’s degree in civil engineering is a plus.
- Current Professional Engineering License in State of New York or ability to obtain licensure in New York State within 6 months.
- Dam engineering specific experience preferred.
- Competent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, experience with dams and water resources is a plus.

TruePani Inc., an environmental consulting and communications firm, is seeking an environmental sampling associate to join a passionate team tackling water quality projects focused on reducing lead in drinking water.
The position is a full-time, 10-week work experience during Summer 2026. College students are eligible for this position. Each day involves traveling to collect water samples at client sites (mostly schools and child care facilities). The role is based in Brownsville, Texas, and will include three weeks of work in Mission, TX during the last three weeks of the position. For candidates located outside of the area, relocation and a housing stipend will be provided. The position includes frequent travel and fieldwork.
We are accepting applications and conducting three rounds of interviews on a rolling basis throughout March and April. All offers will be provided by late-April 2026.
Key Details
- Compensation: $20 - $23 / hour, typically 40 hours per week
- Work days typically begin around 6:30 or 7 AM and conclude around 3 or 4 PM. A lunch break in the middle of the day is provided and there may be down time between traveling to sites.

Responsibilities
The individual in this role will work with the larger project management team to:

Successful individuals in this role are highly motivated and able to work both within teams and independently. Candidates should be able to anticipate work that needs to be completed. We will train the right person to collect facility water samples to be delivered to the lab for analysis in addition to maintaining a detailed sample log.

The is a hybrid position that will require travel to the company headquarters in Belle Vernon, PA on at least a quarterly basis. The candidate is responsible for prospecting and selling Fleet Solutions services to regional trucking companies located throughout the United States. The candidate will also be responsible for servicing an established base of customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
