Lactalis Heritage Dairy, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Production Manager based in Tulare, California.
The Production Manager is responsible for the overall management and direction of the department processes. Ensures manufacturing performance, volume and quality goals are met by utilizing efficient methods, along with maintaining appropriate staffing and labor cost levels. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: achieving project/department goals within budget; coordinating manufacturing with other departments (Marketing, R&D, etc.) as well as with vendors; oversees the interviewing and hiring of employees to include appraising performance, rewarding and coaching employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Analyzes manufacturing data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement; identifies and utilizes methods to assure manufacturing processes are more efficient and effective (reducing waste, reducing labor cost, etc).
- Directs adjustments of the manufacturing processes to maintain conformance with standards, specifications and customer requirements.
- Ensures compliance with workplace and government-mandated standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, etc.)
- Responsible for maintaining all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for preparing a variety of manufacturing reports and presenting to top management, including corrective actions or adjustments as required.
- Responsible for the overall safety of personnel through continual inspection of the department and processes, making necessary changes to ensure efficiency is not compromised by safety and health concerns.
- Confers with the Production Manager and other Department Managers to coordinate departmental activities.
- Will be required to explain variances in labor costs and productivity.
- Ensures adherence to GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, and QC policies and procedures, and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Responsible for the overall department budget and Cap Ex process; to include collection, preparation and presentation of data to top management.
- Cooperates with other management in establishing and communicating company policies, operating procedures and goals.
- Ensures quality assurance programs prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.
- Ensures successful completion of department specific initiatives (e.g. capital projects).
- Ensures effective employee relations by supporting and maintaining a safe and positive work environment. Analyzes and assists in resolving work and/or employee issues through problem resolution.
- Manage, train and develop team members through mentoring, coaching and coordination of individual development plans. Provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis. Partner with HR on employee relations issues.

Lactalis Heritage Dairy, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Quality Supervisor based in Tulare, CA.
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the overall food safety and quality systems, and regulatory compliance programs at the Lactalis Heritage Dairy (LHD) plant located in Tulare, CA.
This position oversees the plant's quality programs: FSSC22000, HACCP and pre-requisites programs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Sanitation Practices (GSPs), and inspects and audits the program in operation. This position represents the plant during inspections and audits with customers, second and third parties, and regulatory agencies.
From your EXPERTISE to our
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Responsible for the plant's GFSI programs. Builds, maintains, and improves the quality management systems (HACCP, FSSC22000).
- Assesses the existing department programs, policies, and practices. Makes recommendations for improvements, aligns programs to the required standards.
- Assists plant management in developing and implementing plant quality programs and processes.
- Ensures the plant is always audit ready. Acts as the lead during audits.
- Conducts Annual Reassessment of the Plant Food Safety Systems to ensure all FSSC related SOPs, procedures, policies are appropriate and coordinates with all other departments to ensure programs are up to date.
- Performs daily monitoring activities of FSSC22000 programs including Verification, Validation, Audit, and Recordkeeping to ensure facility's continuous compliance with FSSC22000 requirements, performs monthly inspections and internal audits.
- Maintains Log /Action Plans of required corrective actions for non-conformances and ensures closure of these issues. Reports on Major Non-Conformances. Inform management of all significant non-conformities and take action to maintain the integrity of the FSSC22000.
- Schedule and conduct Food Safety and HACCP meetings and conferences with representatives of other departments and divisions to explain the FSSC management system and to obtain compliance with the procedures and controls.
- Formulate and prepare appropriate reports, charts and graphs indicating the status of the FSSC management system and any projects associated with it.
- Develop instructional training to clarify FSSC procedures, policies and requirements.
- Acts as System Admin for plant's quality software/SharePoint.
- Ensures records are maintained and easy to access.
- Ensures plant's programs are updated with new/emerging changes in GFSI standards.
- Partners with production to ensure root-causes of issues are investigated, and preventative actions are implemented.
- Conducts effective root cause analysis on food safety and quality issues, implements corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintains the records and contracts of indirect service providers such as pest control, calibration, uniforms, laundry, etc.
- Ensure all indirect third-party services are performed at their appropriate frequency.
Regulatory:
- Primary interface with routine & non-routine regulatory agency representatives at the facility.
- Communicates with all necessary parties (employees, plant management, etc.) on regulation changes related to Quality and Food Safety.
- Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and advances in the state.
- Timely and effective regulatory response.
- Appropriate documentation and development of local policies to support compliance to policies and procedures
Internal & External Audits:
- Ensures the facility is always audit ready.
- Completes necessary CAPAs and reports post audit.
- Develops and trains a team of internal auditors.
Organizational & Cross-Functional Support:
- Maintains a close partnership with the cross-function teams at the plant: Purchasing, R/D, Operation, HR, Maintenance, Supply, and plant Controller
- Facilitates exchange of data between departments and quality employees to ensure quality compliance is met

The Machine Operator will be responsible for all operational activities related to safety, product safety, line efficiency, performance and ingredient usage of the assigned production line.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Responsible for personal and personnel safety for the assign production line and make recommendations for improvements to supervision.
- Responsible for the product quality of the assigned line, to include ensuring that all components used in the process match our Stonyfield standard (correct white mass, fruit dosing flavor injection, cups, lids, cup code, box code)
- Responsible for monitoring the weight control, line checks, changeovers, start up, shutdown and other process at the line.
- Responsible to ensure Stonyfield products are aligned with specification, making adjustments when needed and reporting any deviations to maintenance and supervision.
- Responsible for ensuring the housekeeping, General Manufacturing Practice compliance, and respect for the zoning for the assigned production line.
- Responsible to ensure all containers used in the production process have proper labels to be in compliance

- Responsible to ensure operator control sheets have accurate information related to the fruit and flavor consumption for each SKU run.

The Role: Make an Impact

Primary Project: Build a sales dashboard for Fresh Direct that provides an overview of sales and promotional performance at a Universal Product Code (UPC) level to help strengthen field sales planning and execution.
- Develop a dashboard that uploads data from the Fresh Direct Insights Hub and then generates key charts and graphs outlining UPC sales and promotional performance across the category.
- Prepare key findings within the following categories: high/low performing products, gaps in assortment, promotional formatting and optimization recommendations to share with the Revenue Growth Management team and the Omnichannel Marketing team.
- Document these findings, and be prepared to attend meetings with Fresh Direct, alongside the Sales Manager, where you will be asked to present your key findings and recommendations.

Secondary Project: Conduct a full-scale audit of content on Amazon Fresh and Fresh Direct (manual for Fresh Direct; with Dataweave support for Amazon).
- Perform basic audit of portfolio and identify any gaps and recommend any optimizations across carousels, product titles, bullet points, and other content areas.
- Identify top-performing brands/products at retailer using Unify, and then analyze product detail pages, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for our own listings.
- Develop a framework for tracking post-internship results, including suggested KPIs and timelines for expected performance lifts.
- Present findings and recommendations to the leadership team at summer's end.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined by plant and department procedures.
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate samples from each step of yogurt production and approve for use in production or distribution using various test equipment, test procedures, and methodology.
- Hold product based on specifications and product knowledge.
- Monitor and approve production equipment sanitation, start-up, and performance using control devices and tests.
- Monitor the environment of the plant using various test equipment and procedures and communicate results to operations team on a regular basis, to include, but not limited to air sampling, swabbing equipment and drains.
- Perform audits on Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of the plant.
- Prepare paperwork for use in reporting results to internal auditing, SQF auditing, and State Agencies.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment using control devices and tests.
- Communicates with operations employees regarding issues, results, and status of evaluations daily.
- Utilize the Scientific Investigation Method through the course of daily work.
- Maintain a sanitary and well-stocked area.

The Milk Receiver is responsible for the unloading of milk from tanker trucks, pumping incoming raw milk or cream from tanker trucks into storage tanks, documenting, and recording volume into inventory, and washing and sanitizing silos and receiving lines. - Sanitizes all unloading equipment prior to use.
- Check security seals on tankers and verify against manifest.
- Check all incoming tanker loads for order, temperature, taste, and any other factors as indicated.

Lab Technician 1 will be responsible for a variety of activities that support and provide technical assistance to Research and Development, Corporate Plants, and Corporate Quality Assurance. Perform routine testing on all Liquid and Solid samples provided to the lab from Plants, QA, and R&D, including company samples and competitor samples as provided by Marketing and Sales.

- Perform all analytical tests to properly evaluate each product provided to the laboratory. Testing to include, but is not limited to Fat, Moisture, Calcium, Salt, Protein.
- Sample and provide assistance to have samples tested, when required, at an outside lab for chemistry and microbiology. Provide all analytical data results to Lab Manager and or/Project Manager in an organized and clear format. Carry out daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of analytical equipment and laboratory area. Monitor chemical reagents and notify Lab Manager when supplies are running low.
- Work closely with laboratory staff.
- Provide technical assistance as needed for Aware of and practice Plant's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as well as Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
