In addition, they will have some experience taking care of critical patients and will be able to utilize critical thinking and assessment skills to prioritize patient needs. Our Boise Emergency Department has 34 beds to serve patients of all ages. As the most advanced trauma center in the region, we represent a continuum of care that incorporates the rapid, critical care response of Life Flight, the Emergency Department; comprehensive, multi-specialty surgical expertise including neuroscience, trauma, orthopedics, critical care units, rehabilitation, as well as the state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technologies. Our Eagle Emergency Department is a 14 bed free-standing center that serves our patients 24/7, typically offering a much shorter wait time than experienced at larger facilities. La Rabida Children’s Hospital provides specialized, family-centered health care to children with medically complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness. Through expertise, compassion, and advocacy we help children and their families reach their fullest potential, regardless of their ability to pay.

Our not-for-profit hospital, licensed for 49 beds, helps transition children from neonatal or pediatric intensive care to home, by providing medical, rehabilitative and developmental care, and by training families to continue treatments and manage the necessary equipment in the home. La Rabida also provides extensive rehabilitation for those recovering from wounds or burns and treatment for exacerbations of chronic conditions.

The hospital’s enhanced pediatric patient-centered medical home provides primary care to children with complex medical conditions and their siblings. Children with medical homes elsewhere come to La Rabida for specialty services. La Rabida offers a wide range of specialty services provided to children with sickle cell disease, diabetes, and many others. Children are supported in their emotional and developmental growth, particularly in cases where such growth has been interrupted by accident or disease.

Finally, La Rabida provides forensic and treatment services for children exposed to abuse and neglect, comprehensive assessments for wards of the state, early intervention for children between 0 and 3 years of age. Care coordination services for medically complex children are also provided for those who are covered by a health plan and receive care from providers in Cook County

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for the provision of occupational therapy services within her or his individual scope of clinical competence. Services provided span to outpatient including early intervention and physician clinics. The OT is also responsible for upholding professional standards and promoting quality in practice.

The OT performs the duties of a professional Occupational Therapist for an assigned caseload with an emphasis on providing comprehensive care. They are responsible for development of their professional skills. In addition, the OT shares their occupational therapy expertise within the department. The OT may supervise students in their clinical studies. The OT is responsible for administrative tasks related to the patient care services they provide and required for regulatory and organizational compliance.

• Provides professional occupational therapy services in accordance with the standards established by the professional association and other relevant regulatory requirements.

• Completion of daily billing activities
• Department, team, committee meetings
• Presenting and attending case presentations and in-services
• Participating in education activities for other departments, within the hospital, and for the community
• Provide supervision and training to allied health professional students

• Bachelor's degree in OT; Master's in OT preferred.
• Minimum pediatric affiliation, prefer 1-3 yrs pediatric OT experience – hospital-based or Early Intervention.
• Illinois State License and certified by Board of Registry of NBCOT. In certain circumstances we will consider a GOT (graduate occupational therapist) who has successfully graduated the OT program, and is waiting to sit the Illinois licensure board exams. A GOT, must use the credential of GOT and be under the supervision of a licensed OT who co-signs all of their documentation.

The purpose of this position is to perform the primary functions of a nurse in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care in the Emergency Room.

• Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific and developmentally/specialty appropriate nursing care by applying advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills and for ensuring the comfort and safety of patients/families
• Proficiently and consistently complete accurate, concise and legible documentation on medical records
• Observe and record signs, symptoms and behaviors including the physiological status of patients
• Presents proposed revision of interventions and desired outcomes
• Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times
• Follow physician’s orders in the delivery of nursing care
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
• Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care
• Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures
• Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care given
• Assemble equipment and supply for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; performs or assists others with procedures or treatments. Handle care in accordance with legal, hospital/facility, departmental policies and procedures, and established standards of nursing care and practice, as defined by the Board of Nursing of that State

• Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document
• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma, required; BSN, preferred
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required
• 2+ years full-time RN experience in ER or other comparable experience, required
• Current BLS, ACLS/ALS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required; ENPC certification from ENA may be substituted for PALS certification; TNCC preferred.
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
• Pennsylvania Candidates: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), & Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
