Job Description Summary: Cardiac Specialty/ Cardiac Specialty Intermediate is specialized in taking care of a variety of cardiovascular diseases which includes: Peripheral Vascular: Angiogram, Thrombectomy Structural Heart: TAVR, SAVR, CABG, Heart Catherization /- interventions Heart Failure: Diuresis, Echocardiogram, Blood Pressure Support Electrophysiology: Pacemaker/ICD, Ablation, Cardioversion, Drug Loading, Temporary Pacemakers The Cardiac Specialty Intermediate portion of the unit requires specialized training to become competent in caring for that patient population.
Training is done 6 months after hired date.
This position provides general nursing care to patients and families along the health illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team.
He/She/They are accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities And Duties: Assessment/Diagnosis
- Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and or individual (30%).
Outcomes Identification/Planning
- Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs (30%).
Implementation/Evaluation
- Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data (20%).
Leadership
- Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).

Position Highlights:
- Number of beds on unit: 18
- Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): 18 or older, neuro & medical diagnosis (any neurological disorder or disease, stroke designated unit, any medical or surgical patient needing a higher level of care), Level of care: Intermediate (ICU stepdown)
- Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:4
- Department culture and resources: Clinically excellent staff, dedicated team always willing to help each other. Our standard of care is vital signs taken every 4 hours at minimum, purposeful hourly rounding, patients out of bed/ambulating whenever possible.
- Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Frequent medication administration, continuous telemetry monitoring, frequent physical assessments, use of safe patient handling equipment, management of surgical sites or wounds & surgical drains, internal and external catheters

Responsibilities
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solution.Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.Ensures all required DNV measures for identified stroke / TIA patients are addressed and accurately documented.Ensures good communication with patients/family by utilizing meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report and whiteboards.Closely monitors post operative neurosurgical patients.

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 36 hours per week on the Rotating Shift at our Christiana Hospital on the 5A/4C Medical Stepdown Unit. Weekend and Holidays - per the guidelines of the department.
5A is a Medical Intermediate Care inpatient unit, comprised of a team of dedicated and caring nurses who deliver care to a complex adult patient population.
As a member of our team, you will engage in a true relationship-based model, building relationships with patients and families as well as your peers, guided by our values of love and excellence. During and post an individualized orientation, we support independence in nursing practice. We encourage board certification in Medical-Surgical, Geriatric and/or Progressive Care Nursing.
As a member of our team, you will assist in managing a 4-5 patient assignment, working side-by-side with the interdisciplinary team that includes Patient Care Technicians, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and an array of other medical professionals.

The RN in the Neonatal Escalation Safety Telemetry (NEST) program is responsible for remote monitoring of fetal tracings for obstetric patients across all BH hospitals. The nurse provides continuous vigilance and tele-nursing focused on early prevention/intervention of abnormal fetal heart rate tracing within Baptist Health. This remote operation is staffed by skilled labor and delivery RNs, providing essential remote monitoring of fetal tracings for obstetric patients across multiple healthcare facilities. As an RN in this role, you will collaborate with bedside teams across various Labor and Delivery units within our system to provide additional observation of fetal tracings. Your primary responsibilities will include early identification, notification, and escalation of concerning tracings, while advocating for evidence-based practices and guiding fellow nurses in their professional growth.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Arkansas or eligible due to Compact state agreements. ● Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification. ● Effective communication skills, both written and verbal ● Strong clinical leadership abilities ● Minimum of three years of labor and delivery experience in a level 2,3, or 4 facility. ● BSN preferred, Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS ● Must obtain 20 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange. ● Completion of AWHONN advanced fetal monitoring course every 2 years and intermediate fetal monitoring alternating every 2 years OR must complete intermediate and/or advanced fetal monitoring course within 6 months of employment● Must hold certification through NCC as RNC-EFM or obtain within 6 months of hire.
