Position Summary & Highlights
  • This MA position will act as a float between the Boise, Nampa and Caldwell medical oncology and radiation oncology clinic locations and will support multiple providers at the Cancer Institute.

  • This position will work at our Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell clinic locations to help cover for sick calls, PTO, lab support, and scheduling needs including treatment scheduling. See clinic location details below.

  • We offer advanced diagnostic tools like low-dose CT and 3D imaging, precision radiation therapies, and integrated care plans and support programs. These help provide seamless care for patients and families.

  • Saint Alphonsus also holds the region's largest clinical trials. 

What You Will Do:
  • You will coordinate and partner with the clinical care team to help support all aspects of patient care while patients are undergoing treatment.

  • This may include complete chart prep, assist patients with moving within the clinics, rooming and taking vitals, and setting up for procedures.

  • You will also work a lot on the computer including items in the work queue, scheduling new patients, scheduling patients for procedures, related appointments, and follow up visits and complete related paperwork.

  • You will also be crossed trained in the Radiation Oncology clinic.

  • An ideal candidate will be proficient, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable and enjoy a fast-paced environment.

  • You will have strong experience with EPIC and knowledge of orders.

  • You will also desire being part of a strong team and enjoy connecting with patients and developing relationships with them.

Work Schedule:
  • 30 hours/week: 3 -10 hour shifts, during the work week. Variable days off.

  • Around the hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm. Clinic start and end time can vary based on physician's schedule.

  • Work schedule is released 5 - 6 weeks in advance.

  • This position will NOT work weekends or major holidays.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

    • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

Position Summary & Highlights:
  • This MA position will be primarily supporting an established provider to the clinic.

  • Saint Alphonsus Pulmonary Services is proud to treat pulmonary patients in Boise and the surrounding communities offering high-quality compassionate personalized pulmonary care.

  • Our board-certified pulmonary physicians serve critically ill patients, from children to adults within the hospital and in their outpatient clinic.

  • The outpatient clinic specializes in treating individuals with acute, chronic and recurring conditions of the respiratory system.

What You Will Do:
  • You will work with a team of MAs, an RN, and providers, and will work with an efficient clinic workflow.

  • This position will be a combination of direct patient care and also administrative tasks such as processing orders, prior authorizations, in-basket/task inbox, patient phone calls, and referrals.

  • An ideal candidate will be dependable, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude.

  • You will also be adaptable, detail-oriented, have strong critical thinking skills, and excellent follow-through.


Work Schedule:

Work with Maintenance, Operations, Turnaround Event Team Leader, Turnaround Team, General Contractor and other diverse groups to ensure all phases of the turnaround life cycle are managed in compliance with both Turnaround Management Process (TMP) and Project Management best practices.

Manage all aspects of planning, scheduling and execution of assigned capital and expense projects.

Drive implementation of a best practice Cost Breakdown Structure. Monitor actual vs. budget.

Drive implementation of a best practice Work Breakdown Structure.

Monitor progress in all TMP phases vs. milestones.

Develop project overview presentations for site and senior leadership.


Act as the bridge to upper management by reporting regularly on the progress versus milestones, schedule and cost.

Define and challenge critical path for opportunities to reduce duration and cost.

Develop contingency plans to minimize risk and uncertainty.

Ensure construction resources for engineering and expense projects are deconflicted.

Participate in and conduct scope and project reviews for assigned projects to identify issues/risks that could negatively impact cost and duration and manage development of mitigation plans.

Drive processes to manage scope change and discovery work.
