Summary/Objective:
Under the supervision of the Founder & CEO this position provides
clerical/para-professional accounting support required for maintenance of accurate financial
records and correct processing of financial transactions. Prepares, processes and maintains
accounting records and summarizes business and financial transactions. Reviews source
documents for accuracy and completeness and ensures that all transactions are properly
documented.
Essential Functions:
Performs a variety of paraprofessional accounting functions required to ensure the accurate
processing of all financial transactions and proper accounting for all funds received and disbursed
by the agency.
Maintains and reconciles subsidiary and control accounts.
Create and/or processes budget adjustments, and journal entries.
Reviews source documentation to ensure that payables and/or receivables transactions comply
with all substantive and procedural requirements, are accurately calculated and properly
authorized, and allocated to the proper fund and cost center.
Develops and maintains a variety of databases and/or spreadsheets.
Contacts departments of origin to resolve documentation problems and/or problems with respect to proper
authorization for disbursement and/or collection of funds.

recurring bills, employee reimbursement requests, and transfers of funds to the state, ensuring that
expenses are allowable, properly authorized, and charged to proper accounts.
Inputs payables data for verified transactions; for accounts payable checks on a daily, weekly, and
monthly basis; and assists in balancing check runs.
Receives and credits payments to appropriate billing accounts and to appropriate funds and cost centers.
Verifies all cash, check, echeck and credit card transactions from all payment sites, balances
against the daily cash reports and updates the cash receipt ledger.
Prepares and reconciles daily deposit of payments received by mail, in person, on the WEB, and through
EFT and ACH transactions.

Liaise with internal staff at all levels.

City of Bowie Finance Director
Under the direction of the City Manager, the Finance Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the City's financial accounting and general ledger reporting. The Finance Director must ensure compliance with the City's financial policies and procedures. Prepares timely month-end and year-end closing processes of financial information. Coordinates and develops quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with the governmental accounting, auditing, and financial reporting requirements. Coordinates the annual audit, prepares the City's operating budget, prepares and reviews journal entries, prepares monthly bank reconciliations, performs or assists with payroll and accounts payable transactions, and performs any related work required. Oversee utility billing and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will work with other city departments and department heads and coordinate with the City Manager on each department's financial performance. The candidate will be responsible for supervising the finance department's staff of six trained employees.
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration is preferred, but governmental accounting experience is required. A CPA designation is a big plus. A minimum of 5 years of governmental accounting experience is also required. Credentials as a certified government finance officer are also a big plus. Serve as the primary interface for all products and services and create demand for the organization's products and services.
Build and maintain effective long-term relationships with a defined customer base to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Job Description MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Review accounts, sell new business to existing accounts and convert accounts to a higher level.
May also be responsible for new account installation.
Create demand for the organization's products and services by working with National & Regional accounts.
Build and maintain sales territory of smaller accounts, located in secondary & tertiary markets focusing on sales and customer relationships.
Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with the customers to understand their needs and link them to the organization's product/service strategies.
Coordinate sales forecasts with internal team.
Manage co-op accruals and set-up new customers into Medline's systems.
Create new products to sell to our existing and new customers.
Increase the revenue spend per account.

Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

The anticipated compensation for this role includes a first-year guarantee of $100,000 with the potential to earn more.
This position consists of a $75,000 minimum base salary and is eligible for 100% commission/Spiffs.
This role is bonus eligible.
Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
