As a Mission Systems Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Systems team and will report to the Systems & Safety Manager. The Systems & Safety Team is responsible for architecting systems that support novel safety-critical functions, establishing development methodologies for new technologies, and complying with the federal regulations.
As part of an experienced multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to expanding the aircraft's mission and functional capabilities. Your first-hand pilot experience and your engineering experience in design and development will further strengthen the team's ability to meet rigorous expectations of stakeholders and certification authorities. You will collaborate with members from other groups within Reliable Robotics to develop new and novel systems necessary for unmanned aircraft operations.
Responsibilities
In your role as a Mission Systems Engineer you will contribute to the development of prototypes and certifiable safety-critical flight systems in a dynamic start-up work environment
Define and document mission-related aspects of future aircraft operation using insight from a pilot's perspective
Define and communicate strategies and plans for type certification and operational approval
Develop training and support documents needed to deploy autonomous systems in an operational environment
Support system architecture development and assess trade-off studies regarding performance, complexity, risk, and effort
Capture system requirements and interfaces to drive avionics hardware and software development
Perform operational safety assessments in support of experimental and production missions
Provide engineering expertise in the design, development, test and validation of vehicle level functions and performances
You'll also have the opportunity to interact with other domains within Reliable Robotics and become involved in a broad task spectrum not limited to typical system engineering activities
Basic Success Criteria
Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline
FAA-Certificated Pilot (Commercial, or Airline Transport) or Dispatcher with two or more years of operational experience under 14 CFR * 135, 14 CFR * 121 or Corporate Flight Operations
Broad experience from 7+ years of designing various systems, integrations, and testing of complex safety-critical aerospace systems or equivalent technology
Preferred Criteria
Advanced Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline
Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together with the ability to assess risk and make design and development decisions based first principles without all available data
Experience certifying flight critical systems, hardware, and software via ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-254, and DO-178C respectively
This role is critical to us at Reliable Robotics, because it works to convert the real world challenges of piloting an aircraft into requirements for an aircraft system that flies itself.

A coworker who has the qualifications of a Cable Splicer, is familiar with the underground system and has the experience and ability to analyze cable and equipment troubles quickly and to restore services promptly by replacing fuses, switching, disconnecting defective cables or apparatus, making repairs, etcetera. May be required to perform other underground work such us preparing cable racks, pulling in and racking cables, maintaining equipment in the underground system, etc. Shall install and maintain services, meters, and equipment including conduit and wiring up to the meter on customers' premises and shall handle trouble in such installations. Drives a truck and operates the associated equipment as assigned. Background of apprenticeship and experience must be such as to qualify an employee to perform these duties with skill and efficiency. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, safety codes, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform site survey activities with a team and independently
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
- Review job installation plan with the Crew Lead
- Assist in tracking inventory for each project
- Troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
- Troubleshoot motor and control systems

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician License
- Minimum 5 years of electrical experience
- Proficient knowledge of installation of PVC coated rigid conduit systems
- Able to lead a crew of various sizes ranging from 2 – 5 people
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

This classification is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1245, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.
This position may be subject to Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) review and approval. Provisional hires will be required to participate in targeted training to achieve journey-level knowledge of electrician roles and responsibilities.

- Moves equipment to staging area. Performs safety preparation including performing high voltage protective grounding.
- Uses power tools and hand tools to install equipment and systems, such as wire terminations, high voltage equipment, overhead and underground electrical and conduit systems, steel structures, control panels, metering and protection systems, air switches. Sets up rigging. Pulls wire.
- May operate construction equipment, if qualified, such as crane truck, man lift, boom truck, bucket truck as part of installation, excavation, and compaction. Operates forklift to move and reposition equipment.
- Uses hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, whackers, and shovels to remove and replace soil.
- Removes old high voltage equipment, structures and other impediments prior to installation using heavy equipment, rigging and other tools.
- Drives equipment on the job site (substation). May drive equipment from one job site to another. May drive a company vehicle to pick up tools or other equipment away from the job site.
- Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition. Removes trash, debris, and excess materials. Picks up and reorganizes tools.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. Throughout this program, they will learn to troubleshoot and repair equipment problems that affect productivity of the manufacturing group as well as plant facilities and subsystems. They will learn to be involved with the process improvements providing input in production problem solving.
Approval Process: Applicants will be interviewed and chosen based on their experience, knowledge, and overall work history. The chosen finalists will be required to take and pass an aptitude test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Learn to read wiring diagrams. Operation of special control circuits, time delay switches, electrical braking.
E. Direct Current Machinery (~500 hrs)
Learn to locate and repair direct current motor troubles in fields, armatures, bearings, brush holders, and commutators. Knowledge of variable speed DC drives. Repair and maintenance of DC contactors and field control.
F. General Wiring (~500 hrs)
Learn proper handling and installation of power feeding, wiring, fuse panels, breakers, etc. Estimate load requirements. Code requirements. Install general wiring.
G. Instruments (~100 hrs)
Learn proper use and care of voltmeter, ammeter, watt meter, oscilloscope and megger, etc.
H. Computerized Controls (~600 hrs)
Programmable logic controllers: reading diagrams and schematics; maintaining and troubleshooting.
I. Care, Use and Safety of Tools and Equipment (~500 hrs)
Hand tools, power tools, machines and power equipment, ladders, scaffolding and hoists.
J. Machine Repair (Mechanical) (~1500 hrs)
Assembly and disassembly, bearings, power transmission, construction, rigging, lubrication. Safety.

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee the planning, coordination, and installation of electrical systems on new and existing commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with contract documents, codes, and company standards. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader with deep electrical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage crews and jobsite operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Superintendent plans and assigns daily work activities based on workforce capabilities and project needs. This position orders materials and tools, schedules major deliveries, and attends jobsite meetings to coordinate with project stakeholders. The superintendent supervises electrical installations to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
