Position Overview
This Research Manager position combines project management, analysis, and stakeholder coordination. This position is onsite at MacDill Air force Base in Tampa, FL and offers the opportunity to work closely with the leadership in specific Combatant Commands (CENTCOM) to help identify knowledge gaps, formulate research approaches to address those gaps, and manage and conduct primary research to fill those gaps. This work covers the issues of U.S. global standing, development, and security. This role will suit someone with a keen interest in international politics and a background in research.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Client management
- Have a thorough understanding of how client requirements translate into research projects
- Actively contribute and/or lead discussion with the client about research design
- Identify any weaknesses or gaps in the client’s approach and ask the right questions to get clarity on client brief
- Take ownership of client relations – communicating regularly and ensuring that they are satisfied with our delivery
Project management & delivery
- Take responsibility for research design, taking client objectives all the way through to instrument and indicator design.
- Coordinate with the research team to ensure they are aligned on client objectives
- Designs and implements complex sampling methodologies, develops/reviews quantitative and qualitative instruments, builds and enforces project-specific quality control. Suggests new approaches to sample, instrument, scripting, quality control, analysis, and reporting.
- Help junior staff to manage their time and take responsibility for ensuring that all deadlines within the team are met.
- Take the lead with reporting design and analysis, and writing, communicating research findings in a clear and convincing way. Help to manage junior staff who are contributing to reporting
- Briefing client on research findings – tailoring to the specific team/objective
- Contribute to creation of budgets, including for complex projects or those required to adhere to pre-specified client formats
Requirements
- Degree in International Affairs, Social Sciences, or History *Advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience for research deliverables, including studies, specialized products, quantitative studies, case studies, and other products
- SECRET CLEARANCE Required.
- High proficiency with quantitative data (using Excel/SPSS) and excellent writing skills
- Leadership experience within a team environment
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally
- General knowledge of the politics, economics, and societies of Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East
- Foreign language fluency is strongly preferred; French, Arabic and Spanish
- Preference given to candidates with M&E background; knowledge of the methods and techniques of monitoring and evaluation, including developing survey questionnaires, drawing a sample and assessing the quality of resulting data

Job Summary
The Research Administrator is responsible for managing the financial aspects of research projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with funding agency requirements. The Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC), is the state's premier energy research institution. Created by the Florida Legislature in 1975 to advance research, development and education in solar energy, FSEC's focus includes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable transportation research, demonstration, and education.FSEC is administered by the University of Central Florida and is located in Cocoa, Florida.
The Opportunity:
FSEC invites applications for an Undergraduate Summer Research Internship focused on low-carbon methanol production from fugitive methane resources. This internship will take place at M2X Energy Inc. (Rockledge, Florida), where the intern will collaborate with both researchers and industry engineers. All research and hands-on activities will occur at this off-campus sponsor facility.
Responsibilities:
This program focuses on supporting activities related to process development, optimizations and designs of portable, modular gas-to-methanol technologies in partnership with M2X Energy Inc., which involves, but is not limited to:
Development and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Creation and support of CAD drawings for equipment layouts, skid assemblies, and process components.
Design, assembly, and experimentation with benchtop instruments, including data acquisition and analysis.
Basic process control support and maintenance of engineering and manufacturing documentation.
Assembly, modification, and operation of flow reactors and adsorption testing systems (such as breakthrough rigs) to generate data for pressure swing adsorption (PSA) modeling and validation.
Participation in chemical laboratory experiments and processes, including but not limited to testing adsorbent materials to enhance methane recovery from renewable natural gas streams.
Preparation of written and oral reports summarizing experimental results, processes, and findings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Enrollment or recent completion in an engineering or science undergraduate program and basic proficiency in one or more of the following: chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or chemistry with scientific lab work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with process diagrams and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and interpreting or drafting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Hands-on experience in bench-scale instrumentation development and experimentation.
Familiar with piping assembly, fittings, and gas cylinder handling.
Track records with detailed documentation of experimental procedure, SOPs plus good data management skills.
Familiarity with data processing, analysis and computing tools such as Excel, Origin, MATLAB and Python.
Interest in manufacturing, process engineering and clean technology processes.
Hands-on aptitude and comfortable working in a shop, laboratory and/or manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills and awareness of other technical staff, external partners, equipment/instrument manufacturers, etc.

About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. Job Summary
The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory ( ) seeks self-motivated and talented individuals to participate in and support operations of a research laboratory. Our mission is to develop and translate approaches, devices, algorithms, and agents with clinical impact based on a synergistic combination of biomedical imaging, image-guided therapy, and bionanotechnology. Overall, we are a collaborative, full-spectrum research group leading the discovery, development, and integration of biomedical imaging technologies and theranostic agents for both fundamental research and clinical applications.
The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory is part of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), and the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University School of Medicine.
The research engineer will provide technical oversight of the research laboratory operations focused on in-vitro/preclinical/clinical imaging. The responsibilities will include daily interactions with graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical collaborators, and other researchers, technical and other support to research staff, and direct reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Designing and fabricating electro-mechanical systems;
- Facilitate construction and maintenance of custom lab equipment (ultrasound transducers and imaging systems, laser systems, motorized linear axis and robotic positioners, etc.);
- Maintain instrumentation, implement best practices and training;
- Serve as a technical source for the researchers in the laboratory;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. (M.S. preferred) in science or engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Biology);
- Experience in mechanical fabrication and/or circuitry;
- Experience with ultrasound or laser systems including NDE, diagnostic/therapeutic ultrasound, nanosecond pulsed lasers;
- Programming skills in Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, C++ desirable;
- Ability to assess and remedy difficult problems and situations quickly and efficiently;
- Ability to work well alone as well as in a team environment;
- Ability to work in physical, hands on environment;
- Ability to act independently on technical matters pertaining to projects and laboratory;
- Exhibits creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in conducting research programs/projects.

Department Information
A Research Technician I position is available in Dr. Liang Han's laboratory in the School of Biological Sciences. Dr. Han's group uses a combination of molecular, cellular, immunohistochemical, fluorescence imaging and mouse behavioral approaches to understand how the nervous system receives, transmits and interprets various stimuli to induce physiological and behavioral responses. Research in the lab is focusing on sensory neurons mediating pain, itch sensation and inflammatory respiratory diseases. The technician in the lab will have opportunities to learn techniques in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience field.
Daily responsibilities include:
* Taking care of mouse colonies and genotyping transgenic mouse lines.
* Participating in experiments such as primary neuron culture, live cell calcium imaging, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and mouse behavioral tests.
* Laboratory management includes placing orders, reimbursements, interface with vendors, equipment maintenance and upkeep, laboratory organization and upkeep, and compliance with safety regulations.
Previous experience handling transgenic mouse lines and genotyping is desired. But candidates without those experiences are acceptable.

Job Summary
The Georgia Institute of Technologys School of Architecture invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at Associate or Full Professor in the School of Architecture in the area of Architecture and Design Computing. The successful candidate will: First, lead the development of research agendas in this area; second, serve as steward for the Eastman Fund to support doctoral students; and third, work with the School Chair and the Dean in order to reshape the mission of the Digital Building Lab (DBL).
The DBL was created by professor Chuck Eastman to address design computation, data standards and interoperability. Over the years it has housed studies in design and construction automation; project delivery systems; and smart buildings, infrastructure and environments, often working in conjunction with the Digital Fabrication Lab which provides a setting for design-build projects for the faculty and the students. The DBL has also fostered collaborations between the faculty of the School of Architecture, the School of Building Construction and the School of Industrial Design, as well as collaborations with the research labs of the faculty including the Shape Computation Lab (SCL) and the High Performance Buildings Lab. Under professor Chuck Eastman, funding came from both successful research applications and from industry memberships. The partnerships with industry fostered and sustained a link between academic research and advances in practice as well as in research internal to major architecture firms. Now is the time to redefine and revitalize the vision and the mission of the lab, taking into account current developments in artificial intelligence, data-based design decisions, and advanced digital modeling of buildings and their performance.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the successful candidate include securing and conducting funded research, stewarding the future identity and growth of DBL, mentoring early career researchers, advising PhD students, leading the development of forward-looking curricula for the MS Arch and PhD programs, and teaching advanced graduate courses in candidate's area of expertise.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must have a terminal professional degree in Architecture or an allied discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
A strong record of publications on architectural and design computation and/or the development of digital technologies applicable to building design and construction; and a strong track record of sponsored research, industry collaboration, and teaching. A Doctoral Degree is preferred. An interest and ability to relate research to studio teaching is welcome but studio teaching is not a requirement for this position.

Job Summary
The Research Development Manager provides specialized support to faculty for the development of competitive research proposals. This position analyzes funding opportunities, organizes large interdisciplinary proposal teams, manages the proposal development process, and provides strategic guidance and practical assistance for the development of proposal content. The Research Development Manager also prepares teams for sponsor site visits and conducts funding-related programs and workshops.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Identify and analyze funding opportunities that align with the institution's research priorities and strategic goals. Prepare funding opportunity briefs and presentations.
Job Duty 2 - Support faculty in the development of proposal content through development of custom writing templates, substantive editing, and guidance on effective communication including graphics. Arrange reviews of proposals by topical experts.
Job Duty 3 - Organize proposal teams and drive proposal development by creating and managing documents, timelines, and meetings.
Job Duty 4 - Collaborate with various units to obtain necessary resources and information and to coordinate proposal submissions.
Job Duty 5 - Conduct programs and workshops to increase skills and knowledge required for successful proposal development (e.g., funding program overviews, collaboration best practices, grant writing).
Job Duty 6 - Prepare teams for sponsor site visits, including oversight of meeting logistics and preparation and review of presentations.
Job Duty 7 - Analyze feedback from funding agencies along with broader research funding trends to enhance the competitiveness of future submissions and to inform institutional strategic planning and resource allocation.
Job Duty 8 - Build and update office resources to improve the research development service.
Job Duty 9 - Stay current on developments in research funding and grant writing by participating in professional development opportunities and engaging with relevant literature.
Job Duty 10 - Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Associate degree in a related discipline or equivalent, related experience.
Experience Requirements
No prior relevant work experience required.

Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) or equivalent experience
Experience Requirements
Three to five years of editorial, writing, project management, research, capture management, or grants management experience

About the School of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Mathematics instruct students from across campus, including undergraduate and graduate students. Its faculty carry out research in a wide variety of Mathematical Sciences. They are key players in several cross-disciplinary institutes, centers, and programs at Georgia Tech, including PhD programs in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization (ACO), Computational Science and Engineering (CSE), Bioinformatics, Quantitative Bioscience (QBioS), and Machine Learning ( ).

Job Summary
The School of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for several
non-tenure track Hale Assistant Professorships to begin in Fall 2026, though pending administrative approval- an appointment may begin sooner as well. The position consists of an annually renewable three-year research and teaching appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School. In addition to a reduced teaching load in the first year, the position includes research funding. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.

Required Qualifications
A PhD or its equivalent in the Mathematical Sciences, granted not more than 5 years prior the start of the appointment. An earned doctorate is required by the start of the appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) potential to carry out research of exceptional quality at Georgia Tech; (2) research interests complementary to existing strengths in the School of Mathematics; (3) strong potential for external funding; (4) the ability in teaching, scholarship, and/or service that contributes to the Institute's Student Success Criteria. Consistent with these priorities, candidates will be considered in all areas of Pure and Applied Mathematics and Statistics.
