Community Manager – Residential - Affordable Housing

About the Company

EqualAccess is partnering with a New York–based, vertically integrated real estate organization seeking an experienced and dynamic Community Manager to join its Multifamily Management department. With over 100 years in business, the company develops, owns, and manages thoughtfully designed residential, retail, and mixed-use communities throughout New York City. Its diverse portfolio includes luxury rental residences, condominiums, retail spaces, destination hospitality concepts, and housing for low-, moderate-, and middle-income residents through strategic partnerships with public agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Position Summary

The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property operations within a multifamily portfolio. This role provides leadership across building operations, financial performance, resident relations, and compliance while driving occupancy, revenue growth, and asset value. The Community Manager serves as the primary point of contact for ownership and stakeholders, ensuring strategic objectives are executed effectively and that each property operates at the highest standard of performance and resident satisfaction. Reports to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of a large mixed-use, multifamily property, including building operations, capital projects, vendor management, inspections, and compliance oversight
• Serve as primary liaison to ownership and asset management, providing operational reporting, financial updates, and ensuring overall client satisfaction
• Drive occupancy and revenue performance through effective leasing and marketing oversight
• Ensure compliance with NYC rent regulations, LIHTC requirements, audits, inspections, and all applicable legal standards
• Supervise union building staff and Resident Managers; set performance expectations and manage cyclical property needs
• Lead response to building emergencies and implement corrective and preventative action plans
• Oversee operating budgets, prepare monthly variance reports, manage financial controls, and approve invoices
• Mentor and develop on-site teams; collaborate with senior leadership on portfolio-wide priorities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential property management experience in NYC, including rent-regulated assets
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent residential property management experience
• Experience managing mixed-use or high-end multifamily properties
• Experience overseeing LIHTC units and affordable housing compliance
• Experience supervising union staff and Resident Managers preferred
• Strong knowledge of NYC rental regulations and building operations
• Proven financial acumen, including budgeting, variance reporting, and revenue management
• Yardi or comparable property management system experience required
• NY Real Estate License or ability to obtain within 90 days

Location: Queens, NY

Schedule: On-site, Mon–Fri (9 AM–5 PM)

Compensation: $100,000–$125,000

About this opportunity

The Community Relations & Development (CRD) Director (Territorial) directly supports the Secretary for Business Administration in the management of the Community Relations and Development Department and is responsible for leading and managing a staff of fundraising/development, marketing and public relations professionals in providing comprehensive resources and services for the benefit of the Divisions, field units, and the Southern Territory as a whole. Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical coverage for the primary APC during periods of PTO or short/long term absences
• Manage members through an acute medical situation or an exacerbation of a chronic condition, including testing, diagnostics, and interventions
• Manage members during a short term, sub-acute rehabilitation episode
• Conduct comprehensive, monthly/routine, and/or acute care visit assessments
• Effectively manage acute and chronic medical and behavioral conditions
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation, including ICD 10 conditions
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team

Required Qualifications:

• Certified APC through a national board
• For NPs: Graduate of an accredited master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) program and board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (AG AC NP), Adult/Family or Gerontology Nurse Practitioners (ACNP), with preferred certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP
• For PAs: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program and currently board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Active and unrestricted APC license in the State or Connecticut or Rhose Island and the ability to attain the licemse you do not possess.
• Current, active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations (unless prohibited in state of practice)
• Ability to gain a collaborative practice agreement, if applicable in your state
• Ability to complete physical requirements, including moving a 30-pound bag and ability to perform physical assessment
• Access to reliable transportation
• 1+ years of clinical experience in practice (long-term care setting preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in meeting the medical needs of patients with complex behavioral, social and/or functional needs
• Understanding of Geriatrics and Chronic Illness
• Proficient computer skills including the ability to document medical information with written and electronic medical records

**PLEASE NOTE** Employees must be in an active regular status. Employees must remain in role for a minimum of 12 months from the date of hire /rehire/transfer. If an employee leaves Home and Community, the student loan repayments will cease. The employee must remain in an Advanced Practice Clinician or Physician role within Home and Community for 36 months to receive the full benefit of the student loan repayments.
