Education
Required - Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.

Job Summary:
The Student Nurse Extern (SNE) provides basic care under the direction of the registered professional nurse. The SNE role is designed to provide an experiential learning opportunity for students to evolve towards professional nursing practice through the acquisition of basic clinical skills and advancing their knowledge related to patient care.
The Nurse Extern position reports directly to the Nurse Manager. The Department of Urology at Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an outstanding academic urologic oncologist to serve as Director of the Bladder Cancer Program and Director of the Robotic Cystectomy Program. The successful candidate will be recruited at the Associate Professor or Professor level depending on qualifications and academic accomplishments.
Mount Sinai is home to one of the leading bladder cancer programs in the United States and the #1 bladder cancer program in New York City, offering comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with non–muscle invasive and muscle invasive bladder cancer. The program integrates advanced diagnostics, clinical trials, precision oncology, and minimally invasive surgical innovation, including a highly developed robotic cystectomy platform.
The incoming Director will provide clinical, academic, and strategic leadership to further expand the program’s regional, national, and international impact.
The search is open to outstanding candidates from the United States and internationally, with a strong track record in bladder cancer care, robotic surgery, research, and program leadership.

Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for the Bladder Cancer Program.

The program, which is comprised of two fellows per year (6 total), focuses on providing exceptional clinical training along with opportunities for clinically-oriented research. There is an ACGME fully accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program with 39 residents, and there are also training programs in General Surgery, ObGyn, Family Medicine and Podiatry, with new programs and fellowships in the planning.
The ideal candidate for this position is a Board Certified gastroenterologist who has practiced for at least five years and has a demonstrated interest in and commitment to medical education. Previous experience as an assistant or full program director is ideal. The Program Director will be eligible for a faculty appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine as appropriate. This position will be supported as per ACGME recommendations, with the expectation that the selected candidate will also continue clinical practice in gastroenterology.

Establishment of mechanisms to provide career planning and counseling for residents and to deal with problems such as those related to psychological stress.
Selection of candidates for admission to the program, in accordance with policies of ISMMS and MSSN.
Assessment of performance of each resident through a well-organized program of in training evaluation. This will include the final evaluation at the end of the program as required by the ACGME.
Maintenance of an appeal mechanism. The Residency Program Committee should receive, and review appeals from residents following the appropriate promotion, dismissal and grievance policy.
Supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff members at the primary teaching institutions as well as additional institutions/private practices that may participate in the residency program..
Gathering and reporting complete and accurate information as requested by the accrediting, licensure, certification and funding agencies.
Assuring compliance with institutional and accrediting agency requirements and appropriate notification of major programmatic changes and obtaining approval from GMEC prior to their implementation.

The combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is dedicated to reducing inequities in underserved communities by training leaders in Medicine-Pediatrics primary care. We seek a leader in medical education and community engagement to serve as Program Director. The Icahn Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai - Pediatrics Residency Program currently consists of 16 residents.
The Program Director administers and maintains a residency program that is conducive to exceptional clinical learning and professional development. Responsibilities Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education in all sites that participate in the residency program. Where appropriate, collaborate with the categorical Medicine and categorical Pediatrics residency programs and our community partners in the completion of each of the following:
· Collaborate with our East Harlem communities to ensure program practices and policies are aligned with our stated program mission.
· Approve the selection of program faculty at each site.
· Evaluate program faculty and approve their continued participation in the Residency Program.
· Monitor resident supervision at all participating sites.
· Prepare and submit all materials required by ACGME, including but not limited to program information forms and annual program resident updates to the Accreditation Data System ADS.
· Conduct semiannual evaluations of residents’ performance and provide feedback.
· Ensure compliance with institutional grievance and due process procedures.
· Provide verification of education for all residents, including those who leave the program prior to completion.
· Implement policies and procedures consistent with the institutional and program requirements for resident duty hours and the working environment, including moonlighting, distribution of policies and procedures to the residents and faculty, and adjust schedules as necessary to mitigate excessive service demands and/or fatigue.
· Comply with the sponsoring institution’s written policies and procedures, including those specified in the institutional requirements, for selection, evaluation and promotion of residents, disciplinary action, and supervision of residents.
