OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall safe and efficient plant operations of Gillibrand Industrial Sands, Inc. Manages and directs the activities of production, quality control and implements the strategy for the facility. Manages the operations associated with Industrial Sand and aggregate production, including quarrying, mining, processing, quality control, stockpiling, loading and shipping. Responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) aspects of the facility, fixed and mobile equipment maintenance, and employee relations.
JOB DUTIES:
Operations Management:
· Oversee all aspects of Industrial Sand / Aggregate plant operations, including crushing, screening, washing, and material handling.
· Schedule and manage daily production to meet quality and volume targets.
· Monitor equipment performance and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs.
· Plans and schedules production requirements (people & equipment) to support daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecast to meet customer’s needs.
· Identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and resolves production and employee-related problems.
· Manages production meetings on the daily operations of the plant.
· Walks throughout the operation daily and ensures the cleanliness of the entire facility.
Personnel Management:
· Manages and supervises activities of salaried and hourly production and maintenance employees.
· Actively involved in the selection, hiring, training, change of status, and separation of employees.
· Supervise, train, and evaluate plant staff (operators, technicians, laborers).
· Enforce company policies and safety protocols.
· Coordinate shift schedules and manage labor resources efficiently.
· Provides coaching and disciplinary counseling to employees under his or her area of responsibility (includes employee relations and administration of collective bargaining agreements region specific).
· Administers and enforces Company policies and procedures.
Safety & Environmental Compliance:
· Ensure adherence to MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations
· Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
· Implement and maintain site-specific safety programs. Ensures that the plant meets all EHS policies and practices at the site location and works with EHS Regional employees and Company officials to promote a safe work environment that meets all State and Federal rules and regulations.
· Ensures that employees receive proper training and instructions to perform assigned job duties.
· Utilizes appropriate resources and recommendations in community relations and legislative efforts and actively participates in the area’s community outreach and educational programs.
Quality Assurance:
· Ensure product meets customer specifications and internal quality standards.
· Work closely with the quality control team to address deviations.
· Works closely with sales staff, quality control personnel, and customers to ensure that products meet customer needs and expectations.
· Works with sales on identifying and eliminating customer issues and concerns to improve customer satisfaction and relations.
· Participates in developing an annual operating budget, which includes production volume, maintenance expenses, and maintenance of business assets (replacement and critical spares), along with capital improvements.
Budget & Reporting:
· Manage the operating budget, track production costs, and seek cost-saving initiatives.
· Maintain accurate production records, maintenance logs, and compliance reports.
· Provide regular performance updates to senior management.
· Manages plant production operations to ensure cost efficiency, optimal plant and equipment utilization, and personnel allocation.
· Responsible for ensuring that the site meets or exceeds operating budget.
· Participate in Operation’s short- and long-range business planning.
Continuous Improvement:
·Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and productivity.
·Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
· Works on implementing cost-saving programs and/or continuous improvement activities to reduce costs and improve operating efficiency.
· Compiles data and provides information to analyze and recommends more cost-effective and technologically advanced methods of production processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
· BS degree in Engineering (Mining/ Civil, Mechanical/ Materials/ Mineral Processing); preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum of 5 years’ prior work experience in supervising production employees, preferably at either an Industrial Sand or Industrial Minerals mine. Construction materials industry experience preferred
· Knowledge and understanding of modern principles and practices of supervising production employees
· Thorough knowledge of plant operations and their associated products, processes, and related equipment.
·Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, separation, and material handling equipment.
· Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations (MSHA and OSHA).
· Knowledge and understanding of business planning and financial forecasting requirements.
· Excellent leadership, communication, organization, conflict, and problem resolution skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages relevant to the position.

WORK DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
· Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, as needed, including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, hard-toed safety shoes or boots, dust mask respirator, protective clothing, gloves, and other personal protective equipment.
· Employee may be exposed to dusty and noisy environments and may be working occasionally in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind and rain.
· Work environment will be both indoors in an office and outside in the quarry or plant.
· In the office, will occasionally be required to sit at a desk or operator’s station. In the outside setting, will perform activities at various heights around moving machinery, be exposed to dust, fumes, and gases; may be required to use hand or power tools.

Description:
The Plan Manager Aggregate is responsible for executing the daily production plan. Works with the plant foreman to ensure that the quality and pace of production meet our standards. Manages the pit mining process to ensure that we are on pace and following the mining plan. Manager for all rock plant employees, directly responsible for their productivity, payroll, and scheduling. Yard manager responsible for stockpile management, inventory control, and communications, as well as the conduct of all contractors at the facility.
Essential Functions of the Position:
• Perform oversight of aggregate processing, maintenance, and repair activities.

• Direct manager to all quarry personnel responsible for their daily schedule, daily directives, and hiring and onboarding new employees.

Skills and Knowledge:
• Demonstrable experience in the management of crushing, screening, washing, and stockpiling to produce high-quality construction aggregates.

• Thorough understanding of QC reporting, gradations, and how to adjust plant configuration to meet specifications.
• Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local mining operations laws, rules, and regulations, including MSHA, OSHA, Cal OSHA, and SMARA.

• Must have a valid Class C driver’s license.

Brunel is currently searching for a Concentrate Leach Plant Manager for direct hire with our mining client located in Morenci, Arizona.
In this role you will manage a Pressure Oxidation plant that processes copper sulfide concentrate in order to produce sulfuric acid for heap leaching operations and copper cathode by hydrometallurgical means. This role is accountable for safe plant operation, metallurgical performance and production outcomes.
Duties include:
- Managing day to day operation of the Concentrate Leach facility in order to safely optimize economic copper production.
- Ensure that safe operating practices are in place for all major tasks and that personnel have been properly trained and understand the tasks assigned to them.
- Teach all plant personnel to recognize risks and take appropriate actions. Ensure that effective controls are in place to mitigate all identified critical risks.
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are appropriate, and SOPs are correct and up to date for all maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that all plant personnel understand the basic metallurgical practices that govern pressure oxidation and can use this knowledge for safe and efficient plant operation.
- Coordinate with the Mine and Concentrator departments to understand changes in the mineralogy of Concentrate Leach plant feed.
- Coordinate with oxygen plant personnel regarding plant operation schedule and oxygen needs.
- Coordinate with the Leach and Hydromet departments with regard to concentrate leach acid and copper production targets and provide foresight regarding potential disruptions.
- Prepare and adhere to quarterly and annual budgets.
- Prepare fund-request justifications for plant upgrades.
- Become a subject-matter-expert in copper sulfide pressure leaching and build a team with a strong understanding of the technology and its potential future benefits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree (preferred in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering) and 10 years of metallurgical plant operational experience, including supervisory or management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of copper smelting, hydrometallurgical and leaching operations, including the thermodynamic and kinetic principles that are the foundation of these technologies.
- Knowledge of mining and mineral processing technology, specifically the impacts of copper, iron, and gangue mineralogy on processing operations.

- Identify project risks and opportunities including logistics, access, production constraints, seasonal impacts, and design ambiguities.
- Support constructability reviews and sequencing concepts that align with execution strategies.
- Ensure the bid complies with owner requirements, bid forms, and proposal instructions.
- Solicit subcontractor pricing and scope input for specialty work (dewatering, drilling, blasting, shoring, etc.).
- Evaluate subcontractor quotes for completeness and accuracy; manage bid leveling and scope alignment.
- Assist in development of strategic partnerships for emerging markets and scopes.
- Maintain and improve a heavy civil cost database including labor, equipment, materials, trucking, and subcontractor benchmarks.
- Track estimate performance and contribute to lessons learned based on job cost results and field feedback.
- Coordinate with operations, project management, and field leadership to validate means/methods and production assumptions.
- Participate in turnover meetings and support transition from bid to execution.
- Assist operations in early project planning, budgeting, and buyout strategy as needed.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Civil Construction Estimator
- Proven experience leading estimating efforts on complex heavy civil projects
- Demonstrated success managing or mentoring estimators and leading bid teams.
- Strong understanding of:
- Heavy civil means and methods
- Equipment spreads and production rates
- Construction scheduling impacts
- Labor, trucking, and material pricing models
- Risk management and bid strategy
- Advanced understanding of data analysis methods
- Familiarity with civil estimating computer software
- Ability to interpret civil plans, specs, geotechnical reports, contract terms and design documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to senior leadership
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple concurrent pursuits

A leading organization in the aggregate mining and heavy industrial sector is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygiene Manager to lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of occupational health risks across multiple operations. This role is critical to protecting associate health, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing a proactive culture of safety and well-being.
Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, the Industrial Hygiene Manager partners closely with Risk Management professionals and Business Unit leadership to manage workplace exposures, medical monitoring programs, and product-related health risks.
Essential Functions
1. Health Risk Mitigation & Monitoring (55%)
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive industrial hygiene programs to identify, evaluate, and control workplace health hazards
- Conduct or oversee monitoring of silica, Naturally Occurring Asbestos (NOA), noise, and other workplace substances
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, company standards, and applicable regulatory or guidance organizations
- Oversee hearing conservation programs, including noise exposure assessments and audiometric testing
- Manage medical surveillance programs, ensuring appropriate tracking and regulatory compliance for at-risk associates
- Implement and maintain the Hazard Communication (HazCom) Program, including chemical inventories, SDS management, and training
2. Product Liability & Mineralogy Program Management (25%)
- Maintain and execute key components of the Mineralogy Program
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to product health risk
- Investigate compliance failures and drive accountability and corrective actions
- Support risk mitigation efforts associated with product liability and mineral characterization
3. Program Management & Reporting (10%)
- Maintain accurate records of industrial hygiene assessments, medical monitoring data, and compliance activities
- Prepare reports and risk-based recommendations for leadership regarding trends, exposures, and improvement opportunities
- Lead or support cross-functional initiatives related to industrial hygiene, risk management, and workplace health
4. Training, Compliance & Subject Matter Expertise (10%)
- Develop and deliver training on industrial hygiene topics, including:
- Respiratory protection
- Hearing conservation
- Chemical safety
- Partner with Safety and Environmental teams to integrate industrial hygiene best practices into enterprise-wide initiatives
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations
- Serve as the subject matter expert on industrial hygiene regulatory changes, advising leadership on policy and procedural updates
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
Certifications
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required or ability to obtain certification
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of industrial hygiene or occupational health experience
- Experience in mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments strongly preferred
Technical Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, and EPA regulations related to industrial hygiene
- Demonstrated experience conducting health risk assessments, exposure monitoring, and hazard evaluations
- Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs for diverse audiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in dusty conditions and across the full range of outdoor weather conditions
- Regular site presence at industrial and mining operations
