At Raytheon's Optics Manufacturing Center, the Manufacturing Engineering team plays a critical role in sustaining our competitive edge in the design and production of complex optical components, assemblies, and systems. The Manufacturing Engineering team at our facility in Richardson TX seeks a highly skilled and motivated Optics Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.  Relocation benefits are available.  This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the production of advanced optical elements using state-of-the-art grinding and polishing technologies. 

(NOTE: This is high-precision optics technology, not eyeglasses / eyesight related)

What You Will Do:

  • Provide engineering support for the fabrication and metrology of high-precision optical windows, lenses and prisms.
  • Develop and document robust manufacturing process plans that meet complex optical and mechanical specifications, while optimizing for cost, throughput, quality, and yield.
  • Interpret and verify conformance of engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and test procedures to applicable internal and external standards.
  • Support bid and proposal efforts by estimating time and resources required for manufacturing activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and process optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing technicians on the factory floor to resolve production issues in real time.
  • Specify, procure, and validate production and metrology equipment required for optical manufacturing and testing.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) efforts for product or process failures using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams, program management, and customers to provide technical guidance, ensure requirements compliance, and support key project milestones.
  • First / day shift position.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
    • Relevant experience is providing engineering support in a precision optics manufacturing environment.
  • Work history in optical manufacturing processes, including grinding, pitch polishing, and/or pad polishing techniques.
  • Hands-on experience operating planetary and spindle polishing machines for optical fabrication.
  • Proficiency in measuring and evaluating optical components using optical interferometry.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related field.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings that utilize GD&T standards and translating them into appropriate manufacturing steps.
  • Hands-on expertise in operating and programming 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC equipment using CAM software MasterCAM or comparable platforms.
  • Setting up machines, executing initial runs, troubleshooting issues, and conducting post-machining inspections.
  • Creating and evaluating CAD models using Creo, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Developing clear and detailed technical documentation to support manufacturing operations.
  • Adapting work hours as needed to meet business and production demands.

What You Will Do

  • Perform builds and releases of digital products manually and/or certified pipelines
  • Facilitate the Digital Change Review Boards (DCRBs)
  • Maintain, control, and administer of the Digital Products Development Library (DDL) (formerly known as Software Digital Library (SDL) tools
  • Maintain control, traceability, consistency, and security of all configuration items across the digital development lifecycle. 
  • Perform and maintain configuration planning & identification, change management & version control, status accounting, and configuration audits
  • Manage digital product development/media libraries
  • Document and maintain guidelines and standards for dependency management, build and versioning
  • Provide DPCM Tool administration / management control/access to CM relevant tools/applications (i.e. Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (ADS), Git, Gitlab, Github, Jira, BitBucket, Confluence)
  • Administer/manage/use DevSecOps tools like Coverity, Artifactory, Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab CI/CD, Bamboo
  • Coordination of data transfers, courier support among various environments

The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) includes the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test with all Raytheon products. What You Will Do

We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. 

As part of the Test Environment Support Administration (TESA) team, you be working with both leading-edge technologies and legacy systems to support multiple products and programs throughout Raytheon. You will provide Test Equipment (TE) integration, security consultation, troubleshooting, sustainment and compliance.

  • Provide Cybersecurity compliance guidance to engineering for production and procurement of TE
  • Support Flight Test capabilities and processes for Raytheon test systems
  • Develop Cybersecurity compliant TE (Linux, IOS, Windows)
  • Install software packages/updates to enhance operations and testing of production hardware
  • Troubleshoot production and development TE to ensure connectivity, functionality, compliance, and test integrity
  • Collaborate with Digital Technologies to integrate TE to controlled networks or enterprises
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity to ensure TE compliance (using tools such as Nessus, Splunk, Ivanti, and locally procured software
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure changes do not affect the availability or test integrity on TE
  • Support any and all reviews required prior to implementation of any changes to TE

What You Will Do

In this Systems Engineer role, you may support some of the following types of activities:

  • Core Systems Engineering: Update, maintain, and improve requirements. Develop system architecture and model using Model Based Systems Engineering. Conduct trade studies based on Concept of Operations. Collaborate with engineers of all disciplines.

  • Perform Test Planning: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing

  • Integrate Systems: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact. Evaluate test results for requirements compliance.

  • Create/modify documentation in support of design reviews and in preparation for test events.

  • Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification Execution

  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.

  • Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.

  • Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.

  • Experience with systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.

  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

GENERAL SUMMARY:



Responsible for the initiation of respiratory therapy and diagnostic procedures, especially in difficult and/or unusual situations. Performs highly complex and non-traditional procedures and assists the physician with same. Responsible for providing care to infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients and for providing education to families and patients regarding respiratory care modalities



PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
