Job Summary
The School of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for several
non-tenure track Hale Assistant Professorships to begin in Fall 2026, though pending administrative approval- an appointment may begin sooner as well. The position consists of an annually renewable three-year research and teaching appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School. In addition to a reduced teaching load in the first year, the position includes research funding. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.

As a Radar Systems Engineer, you will be a part of our Radar Engineering team. The Radar Engineering team is comprised of a small cross functional team of motivated and experienced engineers; we're responsible for designing, building, and testing cutting edge phased array radar systems from concept to certified product. Phased array radar systems have historically been reserved for specialized applications, but we're making this technology affordable to enable Detect and Avoid for widespread commercial applications. Responsibilities
In your role as a Radar Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing phased array radar systems and developing radar processing algorithms to enable short, long range object tracking, and radar image generation. You will be involved in all phases of development from conception to production, designing your algorithms in Matlab, Python, and implementation in C++ on the target hardware. You will drive the system-level requirements of the phased array radar system, and drive trade studies collaborating with the cross functional teams. You will support the integration of the radar on the aircraft and support data collection and analysis during flight testing. You will be the owner of real-time processing of radar algorithms on an FPGA, DSP-based platform.
Basic Success Criteria
Electrical Engineering fundamentals, typically gained through a Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related discipline
8+ years of professional hands-on experience with Radar algorithms, radar system design, radar signal processing, integration, and test of a radar system
Ability to use C++, Matlab and Python (Python preferred)

Pulsed and FMCW processing algorithm development
Experience in airborne radar testing and development

The Role

In depth knowledge of CNC machining G-code on various control types, tooling, and machining process improvement. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, as well as an in-depth knowledge and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. The selected candidate will be expected to train low skill level employees while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and cost in a high mix low volume environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up multiple work centers, ensuring initial parts meet Quality Assurance specifications.
- Set up numerical control machines or machining centers to perform functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching.
- Mount, align, and secure tooling attachments and workpieces.
- Select and install cutting tools in machine spindles.
- Load control media or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from the database.
- Operate CNC Avenger 200T, 850 X, and Orbitform Assembly Machines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in multiple work centers.
- Operate equipment through trial runs to verify setups and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitor displays and machine operations to detect malfunctions and resolve issues promptly.
- Enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
- Coordinate activities for operators and conduct on-the-job training for new operators.
- Instruct equipment operators and maintenance personnel on setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on machines as needed.
- Calculate and set machine controls to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
- Stop machines to change cutting tools and setups as required by the machining sequence.
- Measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Discuss control media errors with programming personnel to resolve problems.
- Perform other customer-driven or product-driven duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in CNC and assembly machine operations.
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of computer systems and hard gauging measuring equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes and production tools.
- Ability to read tooling prints and perform mathematical calculations related to machining.
