The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a seasonal full time Coffee Shop Barista to join our team at Yavapai Hotel in Grand Canyon, Arizona. As a Coffee Shop Barista, you will deliver excellent guest service through mastery of coffee knowledge and recipes, educating team members and customers, and making beverages to brand specifications. What will you do?

• Inform guests about additional items and use suggestive selling techniques.
• Serve food and beverage items in correct proportions, following all health, safety, and proper sanitation guidelines.
• Assist in opening or closing of the location.
• Perform clean-up duties, including cleaning equipment.
• Record all transactions via the point of sale system; maintain accurate cash count and balance banks at end of shift.
• Collect money for food and beverage items; process credit cards or determine correct change for guests.

More about you

• Ability to communicate with guests and staff, and provide friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment. 
• Previous high-volume barista experience preferred. 
• Ability to work effectively while alone and in a team. 
• Requires basic math skills.
• Must be comfortable handling cash and working with inventory. 

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds. 
• Ability to stand the entire length of shift with frequent bending, stooping, carrying, walking, and reaching.
• Requires manual dexterity to repeatedly grasp and move items. 
• Exposure to and use of chemicals required to clean and sanitize equipment, surfaces, and areas.
