Job Summary

The Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting, implementing, and overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs on active project sites. This role partners closely with client teams, project management, and field personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations, promote a strong safety culture, and reduce risk through proactive planning, monitoring, and coaching.

This role is open to the following positions:

• Weekend Dayshift: (Saturday & Sunday 7am-3pm)
• Weekend Evenings/Nights: (Friday Noon-9pm, Saturday & Sunday 4pm- Midnight)

MUST have trenching & excavation experience!

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with client teams to plan, implement, and supervise project-specific Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Monitor field activities to identify safety violations, incidents, and trends, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Promote and reinforce a positive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and engagement with field team members.
• Conduct and document daily field safety audits, inspections, and observations.
• Attend and actively participate in project safety meetings, including pre-construction meetings, coordination meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Assist with investigations involving injuries, near misses, property damage, and general liability incidents, including root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
• Oversee and manage site safety orientation processes for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of written site-specific safety plans and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), particularly for high-risk activities.
• Create and deliver relevant weekly safety talks based on site conditions, work scope, and identified hazards.
• Present safety information during Safety Stand Downs, pre-shift huddles, and special safety initiatives.
• Educate project teams on applicable Federal, State, and local occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.

Required Qualifications

• CHST/CSP Certification
• OSHA 510
• Proven experience in a Safety Advisor, Safety Officer, or similar EHS role within construction, industrial, or project-based environments.
• Demonstrated experience with scaffolding safety, including inspection, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable Federal and State safety standards.
• Ability to conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and influence personnel at all levels.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour certification (or equivalent).
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience working on large or multi-contractor project sites.

Site Safety Lead

Description

The Site Safety Lead is responsible for administering and enforcing the project safety program while serving as a liaison to the on-site safety manager. This role ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations, client safety requirements, and Proximiti Safety standards for all employees, contractors, and subcontractors working on the project site. The Site Safety lead plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture and proactively identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.

Duties

• Support all safety efforts on assigned construction projects and actively promote the client’s safety culture and expectations.
• Administer and enforce the project-specific Safety Plan in alignment with client, Proximiti Safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure contractor activities are properly preplanned for safety, including scope reviews, preconstructions meetings, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Safe Task Analyses (STAs).
• Review and verify contractor safety submittals to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate and complete safety-related documentation, including inspection reports, incident reports, training records, and corrective action tracking.
• Monitor and enforce contractor compliance with the client’s safety plan, policies, and site-specific expectations.
• Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding potentially hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices that could impact employee safety or health.
• Utilize safety management software to audit, documents, and monitor project team implementation of the Safety Plan.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of the job site and prepare detailed safety reports for project leadership and the client.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and orientations as required.
• Collaborate with project management, supervision, and contractors to address safety concerns and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Safety role highly preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety and health principles, techniques, methods, regulations, interpretations, and best practices required

The Health & Safety Net Researcher will lead CPL's research portfolio relating to the social safety net and health, in collaboration with and under the oversight of CPL's faculty affiliates and Research Director. This is an exciting role for a skilled safety net and/or health researcher who wants to design and conduct policy-relevant quantitative research in partnership with state and local agencies throughout California. The Health & Safety Net Researcher conducts quantitative research, including conceptualizing research questions and design; requesting, receiving, and cleaning data files; creating and implementing an analysis plan; conducting quality assurance reviews; summarizing results in documents for both academic and policy audiences; and generating replicability documentation. The Health & Safety Net Researcher can implement multiple research designs and analysis techniques, including but not limited to randomized control trials, quasi-experimental designs using natural experiments or other such variation, and difference-in-difference and event study analyses. The Department of Public Safety protects and serves the Creighton community through proactive patrolling, rapid response, community outreach, security technology, and safe parking and transportation options. The Public Safety Dispatcher manages a communications center to enable the protection of Creighton University's Omaha Campus, including people, facilities, and property. Carry out and document the PP (Fire and Safety) rounds. Verify, test and control the installations, equipment and means. Implement, for the Security part, the EP3 process (Operational Control and Emergency Plan) within the framework of the SMEP. Ensure that all provisions are respected to prevent and contain security risks. Contribute to the capitalization of experience by participating in analysis of all safety-related events that have occurred on the site. Monitor and operate the alarm centralization boards. Implement temporary arrangements when required. Apply "Logistics" instructions to carriers (weighing, sealing, transport documents, etc.)

* Intervention: Intervene in case of intrusion alarm, incident, disaster or malicious act. Apply pre-established instructions or orders given in case of unforeseen circumstances. Use reflex sheets in the event of an event. Evaluate an event situation and report accordingly. Alert the Site Safety Manager and those responsible to any serious anomaly or any situation of persistent risk and apply the necessary emergency measures, including first aid. Conduct PP operational interventions (reception/transmission of alarms, emergency calls, etc.)

* Information / Communication: Ensure the reception (physical or telephone) according to the rules of the Management Staff. Inform any newcomer (or incoming) to the applicable site security rules. Reception and transmission of telephone calls. Write the handrail and anomaly reports. Provide information on Fire and Safety indicators, monitor progress and guarantee quality.
