Responsibilities
As a Safety Intern, you'll be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures. You'll assist in monitoring the various construction projects activities, ensuring the compliance with pertinent government regulations, state or provincial, client, and company policies and procedures. You'll assist in establishing and monitoring safe working conditions for our most valuable assets - our people. You'll provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on performance issues when needed. Safety Interns will review project work plans for accuracy in conformance with all standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching and regular onsite training. You must have the ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide-ranging weather conditions and terrain with the ability to travel and/or relocate as required for projects.
Qualifications
* Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study
* Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements
* Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

Job Summary:
The RN Resident is expected to successfully complete the 12-month Nurse Residency Program (NRP). The Wellstar program is designed to facilitate and provide support for a successful transition into professional practice for the new graduate RN with less than 6 months of experience as a Professional Registered Nurse.
RN Residents will participate in programs designed by 1) specialty/service line and 2) NRP sessions to support their development. The RN Resident will be supported by the Unit-Based Leaders, Educators, NRP RN educators, Site Coordinators, and Unit-Based Preceptors trained to support professional role transition, strengthen nursing practice comprehension, critical thinking, and clinical skills in preparation for providing excellent patient care on the unit. The Nurse Resident's orientation is comprised of the following sequential phases: System Orientation, Core Nursing Onboarding Sessions, Specialty Onboarding Sessions, and monthly NRP sessions.
The RN Resident, under the direct supervision of the Unit Manager and in collaboration with the Professional Nurse Educator, Assistant Nurse Manager, and his/her Preceptor, is responsible for the provision of nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with current Wellstar Standards of Care.
The RN Resident is a proactive member of an interprofessional team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients receive individualized, high quality, safe patient care. Families and significant others are viewed as engaged care team partners supporting the patient across the continuum of care. The framework for practice is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, Patient Care Delivery Model, evidence-based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values in Action.
It is expected that all RN Residents are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics Standards for Nurses put forth by the American Nurses Association. Position requires the ability to pass a drug/alcohol pre-screening; may require working competently with dangerous materials and in a dangerous environment, such as around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, high-pressure liquids and gas, and bot surfaces. In addition, it may require lifting heavy objects of up to 75 pounds, and working in confined spaces, noisy environments, and elevated locations (such as climbing extension ladder and other types of ladders; or using scaffolding) either inside or outside of a building. During adverse weather, activities may require extensive after hours work or callback. This job may require wearing a full-face respirator in accordance with Georgia Tech campus policies and procedures. This job will require some evening hours and hours during peak times, as well as being a part of an on-duty rotation.
