Core Responsibilities
- Assembly and disassembly of pumps in shop.

Job Overview:
Continental Tide is seeking an experienced and skilled Welder II for our Norfolk, VA office beginning on or around June 2nd . The successful candidate will join our Fleet Services Group performing various ship repair, modernization and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.
Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Knowledgeable in joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Perform various welding processes to repair, modify and install various pipes, structures, foundations and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic and water systems.
- Fabricate and install fixtures and jigs required for welding process alignments.
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Must be able to select required welding filler materials, joint design, heat ranges and most effective or required welding process/procedure to ensure quality welding operations IAW TWD.
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness and adherence to NAVSEA, ABS & AWS standards. Installs or repairs equipment, such as pipes, valves, floors and tank linings.
- Leads technical project teams, schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management.
- Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
- Experience in SMAW, GMAW & GTAW, Ship Fitting and OXY ACC & Propane GAS Cutting torch.
- Able to weld multiple types, thicknesses & sizes of pipe, plate & bar material in horizontal, overhead and/or vertical positions.
Experience and Skills
- Must possess a high school, trade or vocational school degree
- 5-10 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is preferred
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces

The Pipe Welder will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of HVAC, Utility and Process piping systems.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regular attendance at assigned location; may include the A/Z fabrication facility or other project sites;
- Works on systems that include Heating Hot Water, Chilled Water, Steam, Condensate, Compressed Air, Process Fluids, Chemical, Fuel Oil, Gasses, and other related systems;
- Works with materials that include carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics, fiberglass, copper, (brazed, soft soldered and pro-press);
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
- Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
- Weld pipe and components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using open root butt weld, socket weld and/or fillet weld.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreignmatter.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
- Fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
- Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.
- Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes, portable grinders, or chemical baths.
- Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
- Position and secure work pieces, using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools.
- Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Dismantle metal assemblies or cut scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torches or plasma-arc equipment.

- Estimate consumable materials needed for production and manufacturing and maintain required stocks of materials.

- Use fire suppression methods in industrial emergencies.

SummaryThis position will apply corrosion knowledge and skills to repair, install, troubleshoot, analyze, and perform other predictive and preventative maintenance tasks on assigned equipment, facilities, systems and associated devices contained within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
- Under general direction, provide for design, installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of the cathodic protection systems within an assigned segment of the pipeline system, compressor stations or plant facilities in a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the Partnership's procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements, perform associated required tasks, and complete required documentation (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.)
- Investigate and analyzes corrosive conditions for existing and/or proposed facilities
- Responsible for corrosion control and associated compliance of cathodically protected pipelines, compressor stations or plant facilities, and other buried, submerged, or above ground facilities
- Proactively conduct pipe-to-soil potential surveys, casing-to-soil readings, rectifier and bond readings, current flows on pipeline, and foreign pipe-to-soil readings and all other structures under cathodic protection on a frequency as stated in SOPs or meet regulatory requirements and document in the corrosion database or other forms, records or reports
- Evaluate protective coating condition including internal, external and atmospheric systems and make repairs as needed, evaluate pipe anomalies and perform remaining strength calculations in accordance with established procedures
- Have an understanding of pipeline internal corrosion mechanisms and related mitigation measures including treatment and testing, collection of samples, bacteria, pH, dissolved H2S, and C02 testing and analysis, and perform chemical requirement calculations
- Perform cathodic protection design including current requirement calculations and soil resistivity testing
- Generate and maintain the reports covering rectifiers, bonds, pipeline isolation and annual corrosion control reports
- Install, maintain and repair rectifiers, anodes systems, cables, bonds, test stations and perform ground bed efficiency calculations
- Evaluate the effects of stray currents from other sources (i.e., traction systems, coal mines, AC transmission lines, etc.) and take the necessary action(s) to mitigate their effect on Energy Transfer facilities
- Read and interpret pipeline maps, as-builts and PLD's
- Must use and operate all pertinent safety equipment when performing duties in potentially hazardous areas (arc flash protective PPE, respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.)
- Must display workmanship consistent with Partnership SOPs industry standards, partnership work practices, applicable codes and/or engineering drawings and sketches

The Senior Design Engineer is a team member of the EG Design group and is responsible for the process design of industrial gas, specialty gas and chemical systems for Air Liquide customers in the Electronics industry. This position is responsible for design development and project technical support starting at the conceptual phase through project execution and has mastered the skills needed to apply RAGAGEP (Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices), national codes and internal IMS standards to the project design. This position is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more fields of expertise and contributes at a local or international entity level.
Responsibilities
- Develop process design which complies with recognized codes, internal and external standards and good engineering practices
- Develop scope of work for disciplines outside ALEUS area of expertise
- Coordinate design deliverables from 3rd party engineering firms
- Evaluate client's proposal request to identify project objectives and technical requirements; prepare design basis and design milestone schedule
- Assist estimating and implementation staff by soliciting bids, performing technical bid analysis, developing bill of materials, and specifying components

Manager, Quality Plant Operations
Summary
The Quality Plant Operations Manager is responsible for all quality activities related to in-house fabrication of pipe spools and vessels in alignment with the Quality Management System. This individual will also be responsible for the quality of painting, assembly, and Shipping of the final product to the Customer. This individual will be accountable for ensuring compliance with quality standards and providing complete, accurate, and timely project deliverables.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for the supervision, direction, and career development of in-house Plant Operations quality personnel.
- Influence the development and implementation of standards, policies, procedures, and internal systems that support Quality and Product Excellence.
- Oversee Plant quality documentation and document control processes.
- Develop clear quality objectives within Fabrication and Assembly and related processes.
- Coach and train quality and production team members.
- Define and maintain inspection standards for piping and vessel components that comply with code requirements, support successful assembly operations, and ensure longevity of components in operation.
- Oversee testing and managing Welder/Welding Operator Performance Qualification (WPQ).
- Responsible for selection and management of 3rd party testing services.
- Initiate & follow-up on corrective/preventive actions and the implementation of continual improvement efforts related to Pipe and Vessel Fabrication and Assembly.
- Development, qualification, and management of Welding Procedure Qualifications (WPQR) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to specify the use of proper WPS in production applications.
- Develop and analyze statistical data to improve department performance.

- Influence the development of new departments and welding processes and procedures and coordinate with production on the selection of the most efficient processes and parameters.
- Management of numerous industry and Customer/Client/End User specifications and requirements.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree desired.
- Minimum of 15 years related QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment, including a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
- Familiarity with Codes and Specifications, including AWS, API, SSPC, NACE, ASME, ANSI, and PED.
- Strong Customer relations/external conflict resolution skills, including the investigation and rectification of customer-reported issues and complaints.
- Experience with/participation in production control and planning processes.
- Lean Manufacturing experience a major plus.
- AWS CWI strongly desired.
- ASME Section VIII, IX, and B31.3 knowledge is a must

Responsible for inspection, installation, and repair of Wet, Dry, Pre-action, Deluge and Foam systems; Testing, rebuilding and/or replacing Backflow Preventers. Responsible for identifying trouble areas and performing service in an efficient and professional manner to ensure that sprinkler systems are operating properly. We seek a self-motivated, customer service-oriented lead technician. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and a good communicator. This important position will establish a rapport and build positive relationships with our customers.

Responsibilities include:
Sprinkler and Backflow Systems Installation, Repair, & Service:
- Prepare jobsite, performing visual inspection of system, disabling horn & strobes, and alerting alarm company and fire department.
- Install/hang sprinkler systems and their components per NFPA and engineering guidelines.
- Install or replace wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and foam systems as needed.
- Repair and/or replace all sprinkler systems components.
Repair, replace and rebuild backflow preventers as necessary.
- Verify proper communication with monitoring station when working on a monitored system after repair.
- Perform system tests to verify alarm & sprinkler systems are working properly upon completion of repair.
- Complete installation paperwork in a timely manner and turn completed paperwork into branch management.
- Report Deficiencies to Department Manager.
Qualifications
- Massachusetts Fire Sprinkler Journeyman License
- 1-3 years field experience in Sprinkler and Backflow systems service.
- Fire and /or Life Safety Systems experience.
- Must have or be able & willing to attain state Sprinkler and/or Backflow Licenses.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to visually inspect and service sprinkler and backflow systems.
- Must be able to recognize alarm sights and sounds.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
- May require ability to effectively use a Sprinkler Pipe Threader.
- Must be able to effectively use backflow tester, pipe wrench, various lifts and common pipe fitting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of proven success in performance of Sprinkler inspection, installation, and service is highly preferred.
- NICET Certification in Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems and/or Water-Based Systems Layout, preferred.
Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
