About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

Job Summary
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking to hire Research Scientist.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Conceive, plan, and conduct individual research in broad areas relevant to the mission of the laboratory (imaging, therapy and contrast/therapeutic agents.
- Serve as the technical lead for the laboratory in your area of expertise.
- Plan and direct a number of collaborative research projects including coordination of research activities between groups and disciplines.
- Develop new instruments, materials, processes, scientific methods, approaches and algorithms.
- Responsible for directing others; plans, organizes, and supervises the work of laboratory scientists, engineers, and technicians. Evaluate progress and results obtained, recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives.
- Participate in strategic planning; key role in identifying and acquiring research funding.
- Review schedules, cost and documentation to ensure success of projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Experience in optics, ultrasound, imaging and instrumentation.
- Training in optics/photonics and acoustics.

SUMMARY
The CNC Vertical Mill Machinist is responsible for the machining of products in order to meet customer specifications with minimum direction from area Lead or Supervisor. Operation and light set-up would be done by selecting and installing tooling, updating fixturing, and pulling CNC machining programs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum three to five years work experience
- Enrolled in or vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred.

- Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
- Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code
- Basic to intermediate tool probe

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

Primary responsibilities will include:
- Development and adherence to quality control and manufacturing procedures as required to maintain ISO 9001 and AS9100 conformance.
- Maintain and report product conformance to engineering and customer specifications through inspection of raw material, work in process and finished goods inventories.

Qualifications include five years of quality control/assurance and supervisory experience. An associate degree or equivalent experience is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

What will I be doing?

Work Environment
This is a full-time, non-exempt position scheduled from Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We have flexible hours so you can start anytime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. - an 8-hour shift plus 30 min. lunchbreak will have you finish your day between 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. This position works in a manufacturing production environment. This role routinely uses standard personal protective equipment such as required Safety Glasses and Safety shoes, as well as head and hearing protection and gloves, as required.

Position Overview:
The essential responsibilities of this position include learning how to install molds into molding machines, set up automation, secondary, and auxiliary equipment in a safe, correct, and efficient manner. This candidate must always strive to improve the quality and stability of the manufacturing process. The majority of this position is gaining a basic knowledge of all in house machinery knowledge of machine safety, machine functions and molding vocabulary. As a Mold Tech 1 the individual should strive to improve on their core competency of setting molds (crane, clamping, watering, hydraulics, etc.) and machine start-ups.
Responsibilities- Perform mold changes and setups on molding machines with assistance from Mold Tech and/or Process Tech. Continuously look for changeover process improvement.
- Mold changes and setups require the use of magnetic platens and traditional mold setting techniques.
- Develop and demonstrate a basic knowledge of all in house machinery knowledge of machine safety, machine functions, and molding machine vocabulary.
- Robotics Change End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), load programs, starts, stops, and step through programs on multiple machines.
- Processing Load predefined part recipes, and verify to process sheet.
- Materials Identify various material types and understand general resin drying parameters.
- Quality Systems Demonstrate an understanding of molding defects, read blueprints, read and follow Quality Instructions (QI), demonstrated use of gauges, complete start-up check sheet.
- Maintain or improve the quality of the manufacturing process.
- Technical Communication The ability to communicate on a technical level.
- Insure that all machines are operating at standard cycle times and operating efficiencies, as well as producing quality parts. Notify Process Technician or Supervisor when unable to attain due to elements outside of trainee's control.
- Develop and maintain good working relations with other departments and all others that must interact with the department.
- Insure good housekeeping by taking ownership of the area in which they are working and removing unnecessary items when job is complete and returning them to a proper home location.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement programs including the Hayward Lean Production System, including Kaizen as needed to advance departmental, personal, and company goals.
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all Company and Departmental Safety Policies, including identifying and striving for continuous safety improvements.

The primary responsibilities of a Brake Press Operator are to bend sheet metal in accordance with design specifications and to ensure each piece produced is free of defects. We're looking for a hardworking professional who enjoys meeting challenges and surpassing customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of Cnc Break Press experience in a manufacturing environment.
To meet these main goals, they may perform the following job duties:
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Shear and/or Press Brake for routine established work.
- Select proper punches and dies based on material thickness and type.
- Load, install and correctly set up the tools required, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
- Safely operate forklift to handle materials.
- Grind finished product for sandblasting.
- Perform assigned work within time standards and quality expectations.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
- Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of productions. Reports all machine malfunctions to Management.
- Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

The Dining Hall Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for serving as manager on duty, including working closely with the staff to ensure all standards are followed, providing excellent customer service, portioning food, food control, and following sanitation protocols. Coordinates repair calls, maintenance issues, and manages stock levels for all china and equipment needs. Directly manages the meal periods during service and assists as needed. Handles scheduling and payroll, and shares hiring staff duties with the Manager. Also, handles employee relations situations, solves operational problems, and reports all issues directly to the Manager.

- Manage inventory and the organization of necessary products for dining
- Ensure the operation is secure, organized, safe, and clean during service and at the close of business
- Maintain a commitment to the quality of our resources and work to prevent loss and eliminate waste
- Promote our standards of quality and service and the safety of our work environment
- Provide limited supervision including reporting issues, concerns and/or emergencies through the appropriate channels and to the Manager of Dining Services
- Ensure maintenance of the inventory, presentation and cleanliness of all storage areas
- Supervise general cleaning to include floors, counters, equipment, customer use areas such as dining room tables
- Ensure equipment used is in sound, working order; and tools used are properly cared for and stored; report all repair issues; maintenance logs are updated
- Double-check to ensure the facility is secured after service
- Provide support for special events on large college weekends

Required
- High School diploma or equivalent

- Current SERV Safe Manager Certification or be able to achieve within (6) months of employment
- Soft skills and conflict resolution experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including experience handling emergencies, employee relations issues, and leading a team
- Experience with employee evaluations, training, and hiring
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and time management skills
-Able to take initiative, work independently and collaboratively - Successful completion of pre-employment physical and lift test
