The Opportunity

The College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for multiple full-time, 9-month, non-tenure earning faculty positions in the Department of Nursing Systems at the rank instructor or lecturer. The selected candidates will primarily teach in the online RN-BSN program, and other online courses in our graduate programs, as qualified. The positions will be located on the UCF Academic Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona and are expected to start Fall 2026. The appropriate rank (i.e. instructor, associate instructor, senior instructor, lecturer, associate lecturer, or senior lecturer) will be determined based upon the selected candidates' credentials and prior experience.

The selected candidates will work collaboratively with colleagues, remain actively involved in professional organizations, and actively participate in College of Nursing faculty governance.

Responsibilities include:

The Opportunity

The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine (UCF COM) is seeking exceptional candidates for two full-time faculty positions within the Department of Medicine's Aerospace Medicine program at the assistant, associate or professor of medicine rank. The successful candidates will engage in teaching activities across undergraduate and graduate programs, including the development of new courses, and collaboration with interdisciplinary faculty. As a part of this broad, university-wide strategic plan, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applicants for multiple 9-month, full-time faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-earning), or associate professor (tenured). Candidates with a strong background in hypersonics and space systems are highly encouraged to apply. Technical fields of interest include, but are not limited to:

These positions have an anticipated start date of August 8, 2026. Each of these hires will strengthen UCF and MAE, and may include a combination of joint and/or secondary appointments. Both individual/interdisciplinary infrastructure and startup support will be provided with these new positions. The positions will carry a rank commensurate with the candidate's experience and record.

Each successful candidate will work at the intersection of the relevant research areas associated with the aforementioned themes. They will have research impact, as reflected in high-quality publications and the ability to build a funded and sustainable research program. In response to this unique locational opportunity, The Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER) was founded to focus on student training and research on turbomachinery and associated energy systems for application in power generation, aviation, and space propulsion. CATER has 9 core faculty members at present, with a staff of 5 research faculty, 15 postdoctoral researchers, and 97 doctoral students. It collectively secured $20.3M of new external funding in FY 24-25 and graduates 13 doctoral students per year on average.

The successful candidates would be part of the UCF HYPERSPACE Center ( ), a Center of Excellence (COE) for Hypersonics and Space Propulsion at the University of Central Florida. The motivation of the center is Speed and Space with the goal of achieving ultra-high-speed flight through our atmosphere, and efficient planetary entry and exit, making space exploration and intercontinental travel as routine as intercity travel is today. Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in an area appropriate to Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Applied Mathematics at the time of appointment. We present an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled researcher to join our team as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Inorganic/ Organometallic Chemistry at the University of Central Florida (UCF). This unique position offers a blend of advanced research in molecular inorganic and organometallic chemistry, with a downstream interest in reactivity, catalysis and relevant mechanistic investigations.

The successful candidate, housed in the labs of, and co-advised by Professors John Gordon and Titel Jurca, will play a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge molecular inorganic chemistry. Responsibilities include the synthesis and characterization of novel coordination complexes employing techniques spanning conventional air-free synthesis, to alternative sono- and mechanochemical methodologies. Relevant complexes will be further studied for reactivity, with potential application to catalytic processes. Responsibilities:

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; engineering or equivalent technical field of study.

Requirements: Work Experience: Minimum of five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideal candidate would be a “hands-on” person with shop floor experience. Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) required. Six Sigma and Lean training and/or certifications are a plus.

Principal Area of Responsibility: Assists in administering the total quality assurance program encompassing APQP, planning, evaluation and reporting on all quality aspects of a product, from its conception through manufacturing, fabrication, storage and delivery with intent to provide an optimum quality product at the lowest cost.

Specific Duties

• Ensure all customer specific requirements are met.
• Develop and implement all required quality documentation for new and existing products.
• Lead quality related APQP activities for new and existing products.
• Prepare all documents necessary for customer PPAP submissions.
• Provide support to functional areas with regard to process improvement and statistical methods.
• Revise the quality management system as needed.
• Review company products to insure internal and customer quality standards are met and develop control plans and inspection requirements for those products.
• Participate in and support the Company’s Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Lead corrective action teams to ensure that robust root cause and corrective actions are established.

Provide Safety Health and Environmental leadership and training to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance. This is primarily a support role working under the site EHS Manager. Assisting with the administration of compliance programs, procedures, and policies. This role may also act as a liaison with regulatory agencies when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Supportive role providing Health, Safety and Environmental direction, leadership, and training to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance
• Contribute to and support compliance programs, procedures, and policies and acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies when necessary
• Support all health, safety, and environmental programs, including developing, writing, implementing, auditing, and maintaining policies and procedures in compliance with company, local, state and federal rules and regulations
• Provide training to employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemical, toxins, equipment, and other materials
• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations including recordkeeping
• Lead role in weekly safety meetings, and coordinator for EHS training including communications
• Performs inspections for potential EHS risks, determines corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
• Major contributor during Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigation of incidents, injuries, and near misses and drives action items to closure
• Assists with implementation and compliance for all environmental programs
• Assists with management of Workers Compensation claims
• Supportive role following PSM Practices such as Employee Participation, Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change, and Pre-Startup Safety Review
• Performs routine job skills analysis and task assessments
• Demonstrates commitment to safety
• Some evening or weekend work may be required

Required Education And Experience

• BS degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of experience in a health and safety role at a manufacturing location, preferably in the chemical or food industry

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, including the ability to train
• Working knowledge of OSHA and USEPA regulatory matters covering industrial chemical process operations
• Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
