Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center of optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Assists the Physician in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned.

  • Works independently within our cardiovascular team philosophy.
  • Communicates knowledgeably, timely, and professionally with patients (and patient families), co-workers, healthcare colleagues, and physicians.
  • Able to work in and display critical thinking abilities in stressful situations.
  • Available to fulfill the department requirements of being on-call for after hours emergency procedures and be within the required thirty minute response time.
  • Is physically able to meet the job requirements:
  • Perform effective CPR.
  • Physically move procedural equipment.
  • Patient transport in a cart / bed.
  • Assist in bed to bed patient transport.
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time during a procedure wearing a leaded apron.
  • Able to see and manipulate interventional equipment in dimly lit procedural suite.
  • Has patient assessment knowledge and ability.
  • Is self motivated to learn what is necessary to fulfill the requirements of various positions in the cardiovascular lab.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • BLS & ACLS certification required & PALS certification within 6 months of hire.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Registration as ARRT, or certification as RCIS or RCIS eligible.

Experience:

  • Two years experience in interventional radiology procedures or must have 2 years CV Lab experience or graduated from a nationally accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Program and is eligible for the RCIS credentialing.

Special Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.

Job Summary and Qualifications The Cath Lab Cardiovascular Specialist assumes responsibility for the routine care and maintenance of radiological equipment, in addition, assumes responsibility for quality patient care, maintenance of required cath lab competencies and assistance in all aspects of invasive, or non-invasive cardiac procedures.

What you will do in this role:
  • At all times maintains a professional public image and attitude toward visitors, patients and co-workers, along with the Medical Staff. Shall be courteous, cooperative and use compassion and discretion with regard to patient's right to privacy. Also explains all procedures to help alleviate anxiety.
  • Gives primary and critical patient care and administers necessary medications per doctor's orders, per physician's extender, while patient is in the lab.
  • Checks emergency cart and controlled medications and documents per department guidelines.
  • Assigned procedures are performed according to TMCA policy, procedure and guidelines to include:
  • In a scrubbing, monitoring or circulating capacity assists physicians with percutaneous or cut-down procedures done in The Medical Center of Aurora, South Campus.
  • Operating equipment necessary to the implementation of all procedures in routine, or emergency situations.
  • Starts IV infusion lines per physician order.
  • Maintains adequate records and procedure log data colection.
  • Recognizes basic EKG rhythms.
  • Assists in the education of patient's pre, peri, and post-procedure.

What qualifications you will need:

Licensure/Certification/ Registration:
  • Current registration as Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR), or current certification as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or current certification as Registered Radiologist (ARRT).
  • Current BLS & ACLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross


Education:
  • Accredited RTR and/or RCIS training program.

Experience:
  • 2 years experience in interventional radiology procedures (RTR) preferred or 2 years experience in cardiovascular lab setting preferred (RCIS) or 2 years experience as a Registered Radiographer (ARRT) preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:

Assists the Physician in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, electrophysiology procedures, structural heart procedures, and peripheral vascular procedures.

Position Requirements:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure, or current registration as Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR), or current certification as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS); current BLS certification and current ACLS certification through AHA or ARC.
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, accredited RTR and/or RCIS training program.
  • 2 years' experience in critical care nursing preferred (RN). 2 years' experience in interventional radiology procedures (RTR) preferred. 2 years' experience in cardiovascular lab setting preferred (RCIS).

Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the Radiologist and supervisor, performs diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures for patients ages adolescents through geriatric. Generates appropriate paperwork including requisitions, film jackets, charges and provides a complete history of patient. Responsible for maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills and provide quality diagnostic results. Responsible for supply/inventory management. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

You will need:

  • Current certification by ARRT. Must maintain current registry.
  • Must maintain BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Completion of an AMA approved Radiology Technology training program.
  • Prefer 2 years recent hospital angiographic interventional experience. Skills commensurate with formal training requirement
