Position Summary
Oceaneering's Marine Services Division (MSD) is seeking Inside Machinists to support the manufacturing of complex, critical submarine components in a low-volume, build-to-print environment. Unlike high-volume \"widget\" machining shops, our work consists of one-off and non-repeat builds with tight tolerances, exotic alloys, and high-quality standards that directly support the U.S. Navy submarine fleet.
This role does not require travel but may require overtime.
Duties And Responsibilities
CNC PROGRAMMING & SETUP:
- Review and run CNC programs (lathe and mill) using G-code and CAM platforms.
- Set up CNC and manual machines using written instructions.
MACHINING OPERATIONS:
- Perform the setup and basic operation of equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, saws, and/or related shop machinery.
- Perform machining operations under supervision, using CNC and/or manual equipment as required.
BLUEPRINT, TECHNICAL, AND WORK DOCUMENT INTERPRETATION:
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, manuals, GD&T callouts, and technical work documents.
PRECISION MEASUREMENT & DOCUMENTATION:
- Accurately record measurements using metrology tools.
QUALITY, SAFETY, AND WORKMANSHIP:
- Understand and follow all company, OSHA, and NAVSEA safety and cleanliness requirements.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to perform basic machine operation, tool use, and measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints and drawings, and identify basic GD&T.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of shop math (e.g. convert between decimals and fractions, adding and subtracting decimals and fractions, basic trigonometry used for layout and measurements, etc.).
- Ability to use basic PMI, with assistance.
- Ability to follow setup instructions and run programs on one machine type.
- Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
DESIRED:
- Experience machining submarine, aerospace, defense, nuclear, or similarly critical components in a precision or defense manufacturing environment.
- Introductory knowledge of CNC machine operation or programming (G-code familiarity a plus, but not required).

We are currently looking for a Pipe Welder Shop to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Welder is responsible for the prep, layout, tack, weld, test, complex pipe spools and complex piping systems to work packages, drawings, PI&Ds per ASME B31.1 and MIL TP278, to production schedule under the guidance of the shop superintendent.
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform pipe welding with pipe fitting experience using knowledge of codes and specifications
- Reads and deciphers work packages, work scope, engineered drawings, and PI&Ds
- Works with the pipe shop group with a focus on quality, customer compliance, and schedule
- Assemble piping spools, weld, test, and assure all shop packages are complete, and work is compliant before presenting to QA
- Assures welding equipment is in good working condition and reports any malfunctions or maintenance needed
- Have all personal gear to perform pipe welding and fitting including welding gear, measuring devices, levels square, etc. maintained in good condition
- Additional duties as assigned
Your Background
- High school Graduate, related to Trade school and no less than 5 years work history/experience in this industry required
- Have experience in GTAW processes. Must qualify to Pipe in the 6-G position Per ASME Section IX using the GTAW process. Experience in structural welding using GMAW in various positions to AWS D1.1. Proven past welding qualification history is a plus
- Decipher welding symbols, reads, and follows work packages, drawings, PI&Ds, and blueprints
- Use various measuring equipment
- Full range of mechanical knowledge as well as the ability to fabricate and install piping on equipment as specified on drawings and PI&Ds
- 5+ years of experience
- Able to work in a team environment and self-motivated.
- US Citizenship required
- Able to work overtime when needed
- Have all the necessary hand tools to perform their discipline and maintain in good working order
- Supply their own transportation to and from Rhoads Industries, able to work within the Navy Yard and other job sites at times when requested

**Description:**
You will be an Assembler for the Camden Operations team. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire (MFC) is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. MFC develops, manufactures, and supports advanced combat, missile, rocket, manned and unmanned systems for military customers that include the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, NASA and dozens of foreign allies.
Lockheed Martin's Camden Operations facility is a manufacturing, final assembly, test and storage operation for MFC programs.
**What You Will Be Doing**
As an Assembler, you will be responsible for helping create missiles, rockets and launchers that will protect our nation from its adversaries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on mechanical assemblies and subassemblies including running automated equipment as well as applying touch up paint.
- Work from diagrams and drawings following detailed planning, and use hand and/or power tools, jigs and saws.
- Conduct quality inspections on processing lines in accordance with quality specifications.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions

**Basic Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have the desire and/or ability to use hand tools (i.e. torque wrench, drills and inspection tools, riveting tools, screwdrivers, power screwdriver, ratchet wrench, nut runner, crimpers, cable tools and various other hand tools).
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings or instructions.
- This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US citizen.
- This job will require lifting of up to 30-50 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday's, occasional holidays, or extended hours during the week when needed
**Desired Skills:**
- Operating automated equipment, understanding of mechanical assembly and process flow.
- Prior SAP Software experience is a plus (on the job training will be provided).
- Strong teaming ability and effective communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Outlook) is a plus
