Job Description

Takeda's Round Lake site, located in the greater Chicago area, is a key part of our global Plasma Operating Unit. The manufacturing site specializes in the aseptic fill-finish of plasma-derived therapies, including Flexbumin, using our proprietary GALAXY manufacturing technology. With high-capacity filling lines operating around the clock, the site plays a vital role in delivering life-saving treatments to patients worldwide. Since its launch in 1983, Round Lake has continuously evolved through innovation, investment, and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.

About the role

As a Manufacturing Associate Manager, you will implement and supervise daily manufacturing activities to deliver production commitments on time—while maintaining strong alignment with cGMP, EHS, and applicable regulatory requirements. You will oversee operations within your scope including aseptic filling, initial inspection, pasteurization, and unloading, drive progress against site priorities, and role-model Takeda values and PTRB decision-making (Patient, Trust, Reputation, Business) through visible, values-based leadership.

How you will contribute

  • Deliver daily manufacturing performance to meet production targets, deadlines, and commitment dates across your operational scope.
  • Plan and allocate resources across Filling, Inspection, Pasteurization, and Unloading to maintain flow; manage production activities within the Inspection area to ensure manufacturing goals are met.
  • Lead escalations and issue resolution by coordinating timely actions with support groups to minimize delays and protect the production schedule.
  • Maintain compliance and inspection readiness by implementing and sustaining systems aligned with cGMP, EHS, FDA, and site requirements, and ensuring full adherence to established procedures for high-quality therapeutic product manufacturing.
  • Champion continuous improvement by applying DMAIC and Lean/Six Sigma problem-solving tools to improve safety, quality, yield, and throughput, and leading initiatives that elevate site capabilities.
  • Build team capability and performance through coaching/mentoring, equitable people leadership, and development practices such as Quality Conversations.
  • Ensure training completion by assigning and verifying on-time training for the shift team (including cGMP, safety, and job skills).
  • Drive disciplined execution by ensuring projects, action items, and deliverables are completed by their commitment dates.
  • Own shift communication by being present at shift handovers and ensuring effective transition to the incoming shift.
  • Lead tiered accountability routines by chairing Tier 1 meetings for the area and serving as backup for Tier 2 when needed.
  • Support investigations and timelines by participating in QA and EHS incident investigations and ensuring teams meet investigation timelines and commitments.
  • Represent the department in meetings, audits, and projects; lead and coordinate facilities GEMBA with partners (Facilities Engineering, QA, Maintenance, etc.) to maintain high standards.
  • Support staffing by hiring manufacturing employees and participating in interviews for supporting functions as needed.
  • Provide leadership coverage by partnering with managers and associate directors, adjusting schedules to provide backup support; may serve as a delegate for areas such as Final Inspection and Packaging.
  • Lead larger-scope operational projects when assigned, including shutdown/startup and implementation of new facilities or processes.

What you bring to Takeda

Education & experience

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience; some leadership experience preferred.

Capabilities and qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple activities through others, with full supervision across cost, methods, and people.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing areas including Filling, Initial Inspection, and Pasteurization.

  • Ability to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning and PPE (head/face/hands/feet/body coverage) and follow manufacturing-area restrictions (e.g., no make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, or artificial fingernails).
  • Ability to work in cold and/or wet environments; may be required to work in a confined area; exposure to clean room and cool/hot storage conditions.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation, including a 2-2-3 shift model, and work multiple shifts/weekends/holidays as needed; additional time may be required for business needs (e.g., audits, training, slowdown support).
  • Up to ~5% travel.

Other Job Requirements (Work schedule / shift):

This role is assigned to Day Shift (A/B – 5:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.) on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule. The rotation may include company-designated holidays, and occasional flexibility (additional hours or temporary support on another shift) may be needed. Shift schedule and/or work location may be adjusted as business needs evolve.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$99,500.00 - $156,420.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The Associate Grants Manager works directly with the Director, Government and Industry Affairs and with the Senior Funding Advisor on initiatives aimed at securing public funding for priority projects across the Lactalis USA footprint. The position is responsible for sourcing and understanding technical information provided by Manufacturing, Human Resources, Engineering, Finance and other business units and then translating that information into language suitable for a grant application. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to various internal and external audience needs. Typical interactions will include grant administrators or state and municipal agencies - for example, when clarifications are needed regarding eligible expenses, program timelines, etc.


In addition to helping identify funding opportunities that match Lactalis USA's long-term funding priorities and managing applications/interactions, this role will manage reporting and compliance processes for successful applications along with internal project tracking reports.


The successful candidate will report to the Director of Government and Industry Affairs and be based in our downtown Chicago office.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Holds a critical cross-functional role at Lactalis USA - across all brands, offices and manufacturing sites - responsible for both the strategic and financial dimensions of grant acquisition and management.
  • Under the leadership of the Director, Government and Industry Affairs, this position conducts grant writing, proposal development and coordination with program teams, while also drafting grant budgets, preparing financial documentation, and ensuring compliance with grantor and internal financial standards.
  • Gathers internal financial and technical project data for planned investments for new U.S. capital projects, production lines, expansion of existing activities, innovation, efficiency/optimization of resources, automation, staff training, transition to green energy sources or other ESG-related initiatives and assess if the projects contemplated may qualify for government incentives (i.e. 'right fit' between business drivers behind a project and funding program themes, objectives and requirements).
  • Manages relationships with grant administrators, federal, state and local agencies. Identifies new opportunities for relationship-building.
  • Compiles, tracks, updates and memorializes current U.S. funding programs and opportunities administered by Lactalis USA divisions.
  • Communicates with external program administrators to gather program information (eligible applicants, eligible projects and activities, eligible expenditures, assessment criteria, etc.).
  • Supports the development, execution and monitoring of funding application engagement plans (orienting the right projects towards the right programs to maximize opportunities).
  • Identifies, pursues and tracks new funding opportunities.
  • Enters data and qualitative information in internal tools (e.g. Excel, Qlik or other databases) to track funding applications and compliance/reporting for approved funding. Prepares reports, tables, diagrams, or other types of figures that will improve the effectiveness of internal and external communication products.
  • Builds cross-departmental collaboration around funding opportunities and performance reporting.
  • Develops and refines standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, and internal workflows to strengthen grants management capacity. Provide training and technical assistance to staff on grant proposal development and compliance with best practices.
  • Supports the Director, Government and Industry Affairs, and the Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs, on other regulatory, government relations or industry relations matters, administrative management, budget management and other divisional and company priorities.

POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY


Provide administrative and operational support to the IDN Task Force by managing contract documentation, coordinating cross-functional reviews, and tracking approval workflows. This role focuses on ensuring efficient execution of confidentiality agreements (NDA), direct supplier agreement and consulting agreements through structured documentation control, internal coordination, and compliance tracking. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Contract Management & Documentation:

  • Manage NDAs, direct supplier agreements and consulting agreements
  • Track contract status from initiation through execution
  • Maintain executed contracts and version history
  • Manage contract filing system and document organization
  • Monitor open items and alert internal stakeholders of missing approvals


Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Coordinate contract review processes with Cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, Trade, Pricing)
  • Ensure required departmental involvement prior to execution
  • Follow up on pending reviews and approvals
  • Support contract-related scheduling and documentation


Compliance Tracking & Process Support:

  • Maintain and update the contract tracker in real time

WORK EXPERIENCE


  • With 2–5 years of relevant experience in administrative support, contract coordination, operations, or related roles preferred.

At Crazy Skates USA, we don’t need someone to maintain our current momentum; we need a Hunter-Architect to accelerate it. We have the product, the warehouse, and the brand legacy. Now, we need the leader to design our North American sales roadmap and execute it from the ground up.

THE MISSION

You won't just be "making calls." You will be the architect of our growth:

  • Write the Playbook: Design and deploy our 12-month national sales strategy.
  • The Hunt: Identify, pitch, and secure new high-value dealer networks and specialty retailers.
  • Lead the Fleet: Recruit and manage a national team of Independent Sales Reps (1099s) to scale your vision.
  • Boots on the Ground: Spend 30-50% of your time in the field, representing the brand at industry events and closing the deals that others can't.
  • Data-Driven Execution: Build out our CRM infrastructure to turn raw leads into a repeatable revenue machine.

  • The "General’s Fee": A 1.5% management override on all revenue generated by your independent rep network.

  • The Hunter: You have 5+ years of sales management experience (Action Sports or Sporting Goods experience is a massive plus).
