Job Summary and QualificationsWe are currently seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (Certified OR Tech). As a Certified Surgical or Operating Room Tech, you greet our patients, comfort them and transport them to the surgical suite. Once in the operating room, you will perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for our surgical patients. Responsibilities
Rooming patients: Collecting pertinent information regarding the patient's chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit.Telephone Interactions: As directed, completing necessary telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and/or other health care facilities. Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $18.33per hour - $29.69per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. Clinical Responsibilities
- Patient Rooming: Efficiently gather patient history (family, social, surgical), record chief complaints, and perform medication reconciliation upon arrival.
- Medical Procedures: Perform diagnostic tests and clinical procedures, including:
- Urinary catheterization and bladder scanning.
- Suture/staple removal and cast application/removal.
- Point-of-care testing and TB skin test readings.
- Medication Administration: Administer vaccines and medications per provider orders, including the ability to compound or dilute medications following competency testing.
- Specialty Care: Conduct detailed medical history intakes for prenatal appointments and manage lab results from RN worklists.
Patient Coordination & Education
- Direct Communication: Manage telephone interactions with patients, families, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities to gather information or relay provider instructions.
- Health Education: Provide patients with written and verbal education regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care using approved internal and external resources.
- Prescription Management: Facilitate prescription refills and pharmacy notifications according to department protocols and EMR documentation standards.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Front Office Tasks: Oversee patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and verification of benefits.

The compensation range for this position is $18.33per hour - $29.69per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. Job Summary and Qualifications
The Certified First Assistant (CFA) is an active member of the healthcare team in the operating room. This role is responsible for assisting the healthcare team in assessing the needs of the patients and for organizing and planning care sufficient to meet identified needs during the preoperative and intra-operative phase. The CFA may be asked to precept/mentor others within their realm of expertise.
What you will do in this role:
Prepare the surgical site to include shaving, marking, application of surgical scrub/paint.
Apply positioning aids, tourniquet cuff, etc.
Provide hemostasis by: injection, touches cautery to instrument held by physician, uses electrocautery on tissue, uses bipolar cautery, clamping/tying.
Assist surgeon in utilizing/manipulating special equipment, i.e., video camera and equipment, etc.
Perform skin closure by staples or suture as directed and supervised by surgeon.
Insert and suture drains as directed and supervised by surgeon.
Apply dressings, gauze, splints, and casts.
Administer subcutaneous postoperative injections of local anesthetics when directed by the surgeon.
What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Certified First Assistant (CSFA) through NBSTSA required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
3 years of related experience highly preferred.

Job Summary and QualificationsOR Technician Lead
If you are an experienced OR/Surgical Tech, this is a great opportunity to advance your career. You will work under the direct supervision of the circulating OR RN using your advanced clinical skills in the care of our surgical patients. You will facilitate the daily operations of the Operating Room ensuring efficiency, teamwork, safety and most importantly quality of care.
Your duties and responsibilities may include:
- Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures
- Prepare sterile instrument tables for your procedures
- Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient’s skin for surgery
- Maintain sterile techniques and actively monitor situations which could lead to breaches in sterile technique
- Assist the surgical team during procedures which may include passing instruments, sponges and sutures
- Assist in patient monitoring during procedures
- Gather equipment for cleaning and sterilization after procedures
Requirements
· Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
· Minimum of 2 (two) years previous OR Tech experience
· Certified Surgical Tech (CST) credential required; NBSTSA or equivalent
· Basic Life Support (BLS)
· Clear communication with the surgical board coordinator, physicians and advance care professionals is essential
