We are currently seeking a full-time Statewide Medical Director to serve as the clinical leader for our Illinois contract. *Candidates must reside in Illinois.

The Statewide Medical Director will provide comprehensive medical direction needed to meet the service delivery requirements of the Illinois contract in collaboration with the Vice President of Operations/Regional Vice President. The Statewide Medical Director will also:

  • Mentor, clinically supervise and evaluate the team-delivered medical services for the patients at all facilities of the contract.

  • Establish directives, provide direction and/or attend the following committees/groups: Continuous Quality Improvement, Infection Prevention and Control, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, and Utilization Management.
  • Function as consultant for behavioral health staff and ancillary provider staff.

  • Serve as the contract’s clinical expert, provider resource, clinical and medical management leader, and clinical outcomes driver.
  • Represent correctional healthcare to the client and the contract’s providers. 

Qualifications

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine is REQUIRED for this position
  • Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
  • Current license to practice medicine Illinois required
  • Must have and maintain an active, non-restricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
  • Must have two years' experience in medical administration or supervising medical staff
