We are seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in metal structures, frame design, pipes and fabrication to support the development of power and cooling infrastructure for data centers. This role is critical in designing robust mechanical systems that house and support electrical and thermal management equipment, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
What will you do?
- Experience designing and integrating hydronic systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, and heat exchangers for data center cooling applications.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for chilled water and glycol-based systems.
- Understanding of installation constraints, maintenance access, and serviceability in large-scale mechanical infrastructure.
- Design and develop mechanical frames, enclosures, and support structures for data center power and cooling products (UPS systems, battery racks, CRAC units, containment systems, LVS, MVS).
- Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA tools to validate mechanical integrity under static, dynamic, seismic, and thermal loads.
- Analyze load paths, stress concentrations, and fatigue life of structural components to ensure long-term reliability.
- Design metal enclosures with considerations for airflow, thermal containment, EMI shielding, and environmental protection.
- Evaluate and implement new materials, coatings, and fabrication technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand deployment constraints and gather feedback for design improvements.
- Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings, including weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts
- Select appropriate materials and fabrication methods to optimize cost, performance, and reliability
- Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with functional components.
- Lead mechanical design reviews and contribute to cross-functional design validation efforts.
- Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and performance optimization.
- Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues and ensure quality standards are met.
- Support lifecycle management of mechanical components, including obsolescence planning and alternate sourcing.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures or field issues.
- Ensure mechanical designs support airflow management, thermal containment, and integration with cooling systems (in-row cooling, rear door heat exchangers).
- Collaborate with compliance and certification teams to ensure mechanical designs meet global regulatory requirements (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH)

The goal of the project is to help collect images of streets, main points of interest and public areas in the USA. The project is performed on cars with 360 cameras mounted on top that image the area around the vehicle and store those images on computers inside the vehicle. Later, this data will be used to enhance one the most popular online maps in the world.
The data collectors will be given specific routes around public streets and areas, specifically targeting commercial districts and historical sites. Due to poor weather conditions some areas will be visited multiple times in order to collect the best quality of imaging. The project is expected to last from 3 to 6 months and will cover different data collection areas.
The ideal candidate enjoys driving, knows well the area, traffic trends, is highly responsible and reliable.
The schedule expected on the project is Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day 40 hours per week. Due to weather downtime, work on weekends is possible.

The Director of Estimating is responsible for managing the Mission Critical Estimating team, including identifying bid opportunities, managing the bid process, delivery of bids, staff development, making cost adjustments and assigning estimating personnel and resources.
This position can be located in Boston, MA, or Herndon, VA.
Responsibilities:
Department and Staff Management:
- Assign Estimating team members to projects. Balance and manage time of staff.
- Lead bid strategies.
- Create estimating templates and tools to increase overall effectiveness of the department.
- Create monthly estimating reports to track estimating success.
- Create and track the Mission Critical Estimating budget.
- Perform strategic and business planning for the department.
- Attend executive staff meetings.
- Develop talent on the Mission Critical Estimating team by coaching and providing feedback, and performing annual performance reviews. Create individual development plans for each staff member’s career growth.
Unit Cost Pricing:
- Prepare detailed take off of materials by clearly understanding the complexity of the scope(s) of work as shown on the construction documents.
- Prepare detailed labor estimates utilizing production hours, crews and equipment.
- Organize the material and labor information for pricing.
- Solicit material prices from suppliers.
- Obtain current labor rates.
- Prepare unit prices by "Building the Project in your Head."
- Verify and compare your unit prices or the price of a system with a subcontractor and previous similar estimates.
- Review all unit pricing on projects prepared by the Estimator. Make changes as required.
- Understand the influence of market conditions on pricing.
- Track all current market conditions.
Bid Activities:
- Review or compile GC's with the Senior Estimator and review with senior management.
- Assure on time delivery of bids and estimates, reviewing final plans and specifications with the Estimating team.
- Review of subcontractor selection and scopes and subcontractor/trade close outs on bid day.
- Review scope sheets and pricing with Estimating team members, ensuring that trade summary ties into bid form.
- Close out the subcontractor bid process.
- Review plans and specs with the lead Estimator.
- Assist the lead Estimator in directing additional staff assignments on bid day.
- Manage bid day activities by ensuring completion of bid forms, managing the clock and trying to develop a competitive advantage.
- Follow up with the client regarding bid results.
- Make Subcontractor, A/E fees, overhead, and fee recommendations to upper management.
- Identify pre-construction fees for Suffolk, where applicable
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
- 15+ years of experience estimating Mission Critical projects
- Quantity Surveys, Take off skills, Computer Skills
- Working knowledge of Excel spread sheets, and Word processing programs
- Ability to work with and manage a team
- Understanding of Construction Documents specific to Mission Critical projects
- Knowledge of the contents of each CSI section.
- Ability to read & interpret blue prints in order to understand the scope of work at SD, DD and CD phases of design.
- Ability to coordinate construction document plans, details and specifications.
- Ability to apply CD details to a conceptual set of documents to capture all cost impacts of the details.
- If called to the table or awarded the bid, review the estimate and discuss strategy with the team for any holes, value management, or potential profit pockets

- Team: With this position, we will be a team of 8. Half are part of developing new tools and reports and the other half work on the recurring reporting. They still work together a lot because some of the recurring work is being replaced by tools/dashboards that the development side is building. The team really likes collaborating with each other to complete the work. We have a lot of big projects happening this year and they are high focus for the business. We are shifting the way we provide information to management so that it is more real-time and self-serve.
Responsibilities:
- Creates and analyzes reports to support operations. Ensures correctness of analysis, and reports findings in a concise manner to senior management. Directly responsible for accuracy of data as financial and operational decisions are made based on the data provided. Generates internal and external reports to support management in determining productivity and efficiencies of programs or operational processes. Revises existing reports and develops new reports based on changing methodologies.
- Analyzes reports to ensure accuracy and quality. Tracks and verifies all reporting statistics. Communicates and trains employees and managers on the complex database programs used to generate analytical data. Designs, codes, and maintains complex database programs for the extraction and analysis of data to support financial and operational decisions.
Experience:
- 4 Years Research and analysis experience.
Skills:
- Strong organizational, customer service, communications, and analytical skills. Advanced experience using complex mathematical calculations and understand mathematical and statistical concepts. Knowledge of relevant computer support systems. Ability to train subordinate staff including provide assistance/guidance to staff in design/execution of reporting needs. Proven experience with report writing and technical requirements analysis, data and business process modeling/mapping, and methodology development. Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Required Software and Other Tools: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of programming languages across various software platforms, using DB2, SQL, and/or relational databases. Knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic and Macros useful in automating reporting processes. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Computer programming skills. Negotiation or persuasion skills. Knowledge of ICD9/CPT4 coding. Knowledge of the healthcare delivery system. Preferred Software and Other Tools: SAS experience. Work environment: Typical office environment. Some travel between buildings and out of town.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or other related field. Degree Equivalency: 2-year degree in Computer Science, Business or related field and 2 years of reporting and data analysis work experience.
