Implement treatment plans designed to help children build life skills, confidence, and independence.
Collaborate with families and caregivers to integrate therapy strategies into daily routines.
Deliver compassionate, one-on-one support in home and community settings.
Communicate effectively and consistently with supervising therapists, team members, service coordinators, translators, and administrative staff.
Assist in documenting progress notes, daily treatment logs, and discharge summaries per OASIS standards.
Maintain HIPAA compliance with all communication and documentation.
Participate in mandatory staff meetings and enjoy optional team bonding events to stay connected and informed.

Documentation Requirements
Treatment notes and discharges must be completed within 2 days of a visit.
Missed visit notes must be completed weekly according to the established schedule.
All notes are reviewed and co-signed by the supervising occupational therapist.
License & Training Requirements
Current DORA and NBCOT certification as a COTA.
Completion of state-mandated continuing education per DORA requirements.
Maintain current CPR certification.
Report any DUI, misdemeanor, or felony convictions or accusations to OASIS.

The visit, which lasts about 45 minutes, allows for time to connect one-on-one and answer health questions. The College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Music Therapy to lead the development of music therapy. This is a non-tenure-track nine-month renewable position beginning on September 1, 2026.
The College seeks a music therapist and educator who is passionate and experienced with program development, community engagement, and interdisciplinary study. The ideal candidate has strong music skills, familiarity with accreditation and licensure, and a willingness to work with a variety of institutional stakeholders. The successful candidate will be expected to direct the development of a bachelor's degree in music therapy, recruit new students, as well as teach appropriate undergraduate and graduate offerings in related interdisciplinary programs (education, psychology, health sciences, and nursing).
The appointed individual will be responsible for teaching a variety music therapy courses as well as at least one general music course aligned with the candidates' areas of expertise and experience. Alongside leading program development and teaching, this individual will advise students, contribute to curriculum development, serve on departmental and college committees, as well as perform other tasks as assigned to support the objectives of the Department.
Minimum qualifications:
- ABD in doctoral degree in music therapy or a closely related therapy field.
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC).
- Experience with undergraduate teaching.
- Qualified to teach at least one course in music fundamentals, class piano, or ear training.
- Evidence of capacity to collaborate with colleagues and/or faculty from other disciplines and staff collegially.
Preferred qualifications:
