Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) travel position in Johnson City, TN, requiring both Med/Surg and PCU competency with night shift availability.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12-hour shifts per week)
- 36-hour weekly work commitment with rotating weekend requirements
- Floating required to Med/Surg; candidates must be comfortable with 1:7 patient ratios when floated
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TN or Compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA-issued only)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Competency in both Med/Surg and PCU required
- Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Orientation begins on Sundays and consists of online computer-based learning (CBL) modules
- Contract RNs are expected to actively support nursing student clinical education alongside their regular patient care responsibilities
- Two supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- Local candidates are not accepted; a minimum 100-mile radius from the facility is required for eligibility
