Parts Development – Powertrain Assistant Manager

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Understand program sourcing requirements and key milestones in support of product launch.
  • Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, determine pricing, and select suppliers in collaboration with Engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Select, develop, and manage the supply base for assigned commodities by:
  • Preparing and owning RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for multi-year full production volume
  • Preparing bid packages, conducting bidder conferences, analyzing and evaluating proposals
  • Negotiating with and recommending suppliers
  • Administering resulting contracts
  • Negotiating long-term agreements and maintaining best-in-class pricing
  • Leading cost reduction initiatives
  • Develop assigned commodities with sourced suppliers to meet all specifications and timing requirements.
  • Evaluate and guide final supplier selection. Assess supplier core competencies and cost competitiveness using company and industry “should-cost” models.
  • Direct and manage suppliers through the established Parts Development process from concept through mass production.
  • Develop and achieve target quality levels at each milestone, establishing improvement plans and countermeasures for parts or suppliers impacting Quality, Cost, or Delivery.
  • Drive flawless launches at assigned supplier sites, collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring adherence to ISIR (PPAP) requirements.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues related to Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
  • Lead effective working-level meetings with suppliers for fast issue resolution and relationship development.
  • Continuously negotiate piece price and tooling costs to achieve target vehicle cost objectives.
  • Develop purchasing strategies in collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Production, and related teams.

Other Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support supply chain continuity to prevent production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering (R&D), Quality, and Production Planning teams.
  • Plan, organize, and disseminate information related to production and potential suppliers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date supply base information database.
  • Hire, develop, train, and manage Buyers (Specialists).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited university
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience
  • Automotive industry experience in Purchasing, APQP, PPAP, Supplier Development/Engineering, Launch, Program Management, or related areas
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including injection molding, press, stamping, die casting, welding, assembly, paint, chroming and surface treatments, foaming, cut & sew, SMC, extrusion, SMT, various raw materials, etc.
  • Experience with Engines and Transmissions strongly preferred
  • Experience working for an OEM or major commodity supplier
  • Strong ability to analyze and break down piece pricing
  • Bilingual (English/Korean/Spanish combinations preferred)

CDC Clamp Truck Operator I 2nd Shift

Your responsibilities

The Clamp Truck Operator is responsible for loading and unloading product that is shipped and/or received at the Central Distribution Center. As a Clamp Truck Operator, it will be your responsibility to follow and abide by all BSH and CDC rules and procedures to the best of your ability.

Safety:

  • Safely operates industrial clamp/lift truck, manual pallet jacks, and other forms of materials handling equipment on the distribution floor.
  • Adheres to BSH guidelines by wearing and utilizing required PPE.

General:

  • Maintains material handling equipment including electronic computers, mechanical scales, doors, door locks, door levelers, battery chargers and related equipment.
  • Loads materials into vehicles, containers, and other forms of transportation installing strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials from storage to designated staging areas and records serial numbers using the correct lifting apparatus for the designated product.
  • Follows written or oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved in a timely, scheduled manner to the customer.
  • Unloads and sorts materials from trailers and locate in the Distribution Center, either by directed put away or open location.
  • Order picks and records number of units of materials moved or handled on a pick ticket.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, boxes or other containers.
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or with handling equipment and cleans work area, machines and equipment.
  • Palletize and wrap product for shipping.
  • Completes PM sheets for his/her lift before each shift and reports any issues immediately.
  • Demonstrate efficient knowledge of handling signage (fragile, this side up, etc.)
  • Report all warehouse damages

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to be involved in both the comprehensive management of existing commercial relationships as well as soliciting new business opportunities with assigned customers and targeted prospects. The Director of Manufacturing will lead the production, planning, quality inspection and inventory control teams and work with the test and engineering teams for successful LRIP (Low-Rate Initial Production) of our Subsurface Compressor Systems; perform cost reduction; improve productivity, ensure quality builds; and ensure deliveries are made on time.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and direct the manufacturing team to meet delivery commitments.
  2. Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule; identify risks and take mitigating actions to address them preemptively.

  4. Drive the S&OP forecasting process based on sales outlook, fleet support and internal usage.

  9. Ensure build procedures are consistently followed and operators are trained.
  10. Build hardware failure contingency plans for production work and field support to reduce delivery risk and lead times

Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities:

  • BS degree in a technical field (Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years progressive and related experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to support hands-on decision making, management, mentoring and development of technicians and engineers in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to read prints and familiar with interpretation of GD&T call outs.
  • Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing per ASME Y14.5, dimensional stack-ups, inspection procedures and metrology equipment.
  • Experience building turbomachinery, which includes high-speed rotating equipment, electric motors, compressors and oil management systems.
  • Familiar with creating ERP system BOM’s & Routers; experience with Global Shop is a plus.
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes for complex, precision turbo machinery: casting, machining, milling, grinding, rotor balancing, mechanical and electrical assembly, inspection techniques, oil management systems (tubing, fittings, etc.) and pressurized assemblies.
  • Experience with NPI of complex equipment.
  • Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, Demand Flow Technology, Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9001 experience is a plus.
  • Experience configuring assembly lines, in-process Kanban’s and visual work instructions is a plus.

We are currently seeking a Drill Shaft Caisson Operator to join our Geotechnical Division.
