In this role, you will engage and connect with our customers by providing excellent customer service. • Develop a strategically integrated set of item master data management standards in collaboration with internal partners to ensure PETCO business objectives are met; review and benchmark the internal and external environment with a spirit of continuous improvement; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and develop item master data policies; lead administration of item master data; lead efforts to improve vendor internal data scorecarding; ensure all item master data management policies and operations meet PETCO business objectives; ensure that ad offers are entered according to policy and procedure (60%)

• A bachelor’s degree in business or related field and a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in merchandising, vendor/supplier management, or similar function requiring master data management is required.
• Previous retail experience is strongly preferred.
• Direct experience with improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma also preferred.
• Advanced computer skills are also required including MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and contract management software.
• Two or more years of experience as a supervisor/manager is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted.

• Studies end-user needs, defines product features and coordinates activities across teams to meet quality standards, project deadlines and business objectives. Activities include: gathering and writing requirements for medium and large application features; conducting competitive analyses; and using product discovery techniques to aid in prioritization of features (e.g., A/B, surveys, interviews, etc.). • Develops long-term product plans (i.e., roadmaps), and leads stakeholders through the roadmap process for assigned product(s). • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, marketing, business administration or related field, 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager, preferably in e-commerce, search, or related digital products, or a similar role in an Agile, Scrum, Kanban or similar software application development and/or project management team environment, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
• Strong customer facing digital subject matter expertise with experience working on medium complexity features and/or an entire software application.
• Experience with search technologies and platforms (e.g., , Solr, Algolia, or similar) is required.
• Experience reviewing vendors and RFP processes for enterprise search platforms is preferred.
• Proven track record of launching a search platform, from initial discovery through execution and successful launch.
• Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and experimentation platforms.
• Familiarity with taxonomy design, product categorization, and search filtering.

As a Vetco Veterinary Assistant, you will meet your veterinary team at our local dispatch office, then travel to your assigned Petco clinic locations for the day. Position Overview

As a Sales Solutions Generalist you'll provide each customer with the best experience possible by helping them find and purchase animals, supplies and services. During each interaction, you will discuss the needs of the guest and their pet/s to provide solutions for today, as well as in the future and assist with connecting them with a Specialist when appropriate. You'll work the cash register and ensure that our merchandise is properly stocked and priced, providing an excellent experience for each of our guests. You can excel in this role by exhibiting a passion for the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals as well as being a positive partner within the whole Pet Care Center team.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide a great experience by engaging with guests utilizing your acquired skills and training.
• Assist guests in the proper selection of merchandise in accordance with their identified needs.
• Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals.
• Process transactions in a way that creates a great experience for each guest.
• Generate future business through a deep understand of the guests and their pet/s.
• Perform related duties in support of the Pet Care Center attaining its assigned sales goals.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation for our guests.
• Completes and applies training programs to maintain a high level of expertise of their role.
• Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Evaluate guest inquiries and as needed refers to the Leader on Duty.

Basic Qualifications

Be able to work successfully within a team. In addition to having a professional appearance and demeanor, applicants must also demonstrate a keen and genuine interest in animals and their care. Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills are necessary due to the nature of interaction with the public and other partners and leaders within the store.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience within sales, retail, or related field. Possess a high level of knowledge of pet nutrition and an aptitude for sales techniques.

Work Environment

The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although merchandise receiving, merchandise carry-outs, or stock balancing will require leaving the store briefly. This position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs utilizing material handling equipment. Improper use of safety equipment and/or not following proper lifting techniques may pose of risk of injury to customers, pets, and Pet Care Center personnel. Follow all safety precautions and procedures. Must be available for shifts on evenings, weekends and some overnights and holidays.
