Position Purpose

As an MRI Technologist you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care in a clinic or practice environment. An MRI Technologist injects patients with contrast media, such as a dye, so that the images will show up on the scanner. The scanners use magnetic fields in combination with the contrast agent to produce images that a physician can use to diagnose medical problems 

What you will do:

  • Performs MRI examination accurately and proficiently with an understanding of protocols for each exam.
  • Knowledgeable in the proper use of the PACS and RIS systems in accordance with set protocols and the manufacturer recommendations.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of computer language and cross-sectional anatomy. Demonstrates an understanding of magnetic physics and practices appropriate safety procedures in the magnet area.
  • Patients served include all age groups (Infant through Older Adults as identified in Performance Standards).

Licensure:

  • Florida CRT License is required.
  • ARRT is required
  • ARRT (MR) is required
  • BLS certification is required
  • Experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred.
  • At least one year of MRI experience is preferred.
  • Hospital experience is preferred

  • This Medical Assistant position will provide direct support to two providers in the clinic.

What Will You Do:
  • In addition to rooming patients and taking vitals, you will perform prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and imaging.

  • Complete chart prep, follow up on imaging orders, calling patients with surgery instructions, and an occasional set up for a procedure.

  • You will work in a great positive team environment along side other MAs, RNs, and front office staff.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Need to be able to consistently anticipate what needs to be done for a successful visit with the surgeons. This is a very fast paced clinic, mentally and physically, requiring rooming upwards of 20-25 patients each clinical day.

  • Be reliable, a proactive diligent worker, eager to learn, has an interest in the neuroscience field, and likes to be challenged and able to handle stressful situations at times.

  • Be friendly and confident, enjoy providing attentive and compassionate patient care, have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Work Schedule:
  • 40 hours per week, Mondays – Fridays, around the hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm. There is no clinic on Fridays so the clinic has a rotation of who has a day off or leaves early.

Job Summary

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, functions as a lead or resource person for personnel involved in Radiologic Procedures, in addition to performing Radiologic Technologist duties as required.

- Coordinates the flow of work, delegates, oversees and guides staff in carrying out their respective duties. Follows up on activities of Radiologic Technologists or assigned personnel, resolves routine and complex problems and ensures that department is operating in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitors the quantity and quality of work flow to ensure work is completed.
- Ensures that prescribed diagnostic procedures are performed according to department standards.
- Recommends personnel actions by providing input for performance appraisals, hiring decisions and progressive disciplines up to termination of employment.
- Assists with monitoring performance improvement plans. Has the responsibility for scheduling of and timekeeping for radiologic technologists. Able to take call/standby as required by the department.
- Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JC requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.

1. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R).

2. Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
