As an Assembler Installer for Cable Controlled Systems, you will be pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the installation and assembly processes. Your expertise will be essential as you perform critical tasks such as reaming, riveting, and setting cable tensions using a tension meter, all while adhering to precise specifications. You will meticulously select and verify parts, ensuring they are free of defects and suitable for installation, while also utilizing blueprints and work orders to guide your work. Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform pickup, rework, authorized changes, and functional checks on work typically installed or assembled by lower classifications.

  • Use a tension meter to set cable tension according to specifications.

  • Conduct reaming and riveting as necessary to complete work assignments.

  • Report job handicaps, such as errors in parts, materials, or assembly procedures, following shop procedures.

  • Select appropriate parts, materials, and tools, and work with blueprints, assembly pages, and work orders to install and adjust cable-controlled systems in the aircraft.

  • Review bar charts or automated timelines to determine job assignments and obtain necessary drawings.

  • Locate work areas using drawings or paperwork that specify airplane and section numbers.

  • Verify kitted parts against installation plans and bill of materials to ensure they are correct and free of defects.

  • Obtain parts from the Parts Control Area if they are not pre-picked, ensuring they meet specifications.

  • Drill, ream, and countersink holes in parts/assemblies per specifications, using appropriate tools.

  • Disassemble parts and deburr holes to prepare for fastener installation.

  • Use solvents to clean surfaces prior to sealing or assembly, and apply sealants, alodine, primers, adhesives, and special finishes as required.

  • Install cable control pulleys and rig control cables according to drawings and specifications.

  • Check and adjust actuator motors for full travel of flight control systems using power sources and hand tools.

  • Clean the work area and ensure the removal of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and submit completed jobs or in-process checks to inspectors as required.

  • Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

  • Run high voltage electrical cable from sub-station to unit station; cut and splice cable, test cable for resistance

  • Install, replace and repair fiber optic cable for computers and computing systems

  • Bend conduit and install junction boxes; pull wire of various gauge and color through conduit using a fish tape; install and connect switches and outlets

  • Check work after completion or after each operation; ensure job is per drawing and WAC, NEC codes; evaluate job for work to be performed (e.g., wire size, electrical load, conduit)

  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. tiger lift, spider lift, snorkel lift), to access work areas

  • Install wire, crimp, terminate, and solder using tools (e.g., crimpers, wire cutters, soldering gun) in plant electrical systems

  • Establish/verify voltage, amperage, frequency and watts using test equipment (e.g., circuit trackers, sonic circuit chasers, volt, amperage meters)

Position Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, rebuild, retrofit, modify, assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, calibrate, adjust, and test mechanical systems and or subsystems of all types of cranes such as, but not limited to cab operated, radio controlled, jib type, pendant operated, etc. Know, understand, and work in compliance with SHEA and other applicable codes and regulations for overhead cranes
  • Coordinate and work with management, engineering, equipment vendors, and other organizations to analyze equipment design requirements and capabilities.
  • Use schematics, blueprints, sketches, manuals, technical documents, written information, verbal information, applicable procedures, codes and ordinances.
  • Determine and/or develop methods where procedures may not be available.
  • Devise and make shop aids to facilitate work. Operate and utilize mechanical, test equipment and test systems, precision devices in failure analysis, all forms of predictive/preventative technologies, as required on cranes.
  • Operate, use and maintain overhead maintenance work platforms
  • Maintain, adjust, install and repair, hydraulic, pneumatic and electric brake system components on cranes and bridges as requires.
  • Inspect and maintain building runway rails and expansion joints.
  • Maintain mechanical crane and hoist systems including cables, chain, sheaves and hooks.
  • Perform the operational tests and load tests of cranes and bridges as required by Engineering, SHEA and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Maintain logs, charts, and perform written and verbal tie-in records.
  • Prepare reports and schedules as required.
  • Work with and assist employees of other classifications as required.
  • Perform work in other classifications when incidental but necessary to the accomplishment of the assignment.

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

Position Responsibilities:

You will enable the VMS organization to continue to advance its technologies in support of our Phantom Works and Fixed-Wing programs. The team is responsible for developing integration test assets, real-time software test environments, subsystem/system testing, and evaluating system performance in simulation lab environment. Simulation and modeling are utilized to assist in requirements development, software and hardware development, and equipment verification and validation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical schematics and designs for cabling, test hardware, and/or test stations
  • Select components for hardware designs and support the procurement and fabrication of hardware designs
  • Integrate hardware systems and/or software together in a test setting
  • Operate complex test stations, electronic test equipment, and test software
  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems
  • Experience interpreting technical requirements to create designs and/or documents

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience conducting component, sub-system, system or system-of-systems tests
  • 1+ years analyzing engineering designs to define testing requirements
  • Experience preparing test plans, schedules and documentation
  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and/or real-time operating systems
  • Experience with software programming and creating scripts for automated testing
  • Experience with Flight Controls or Vehicle Management Systems

What you will do:

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, and CAD design.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, work holding fixtures, and materials for the job.
  • Loading material into CNC machines and performing safe and accurate set-up.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks with the use of complex measuring equipment.
  • Operating lifting devices in a safe manner (forklifts, overhead cranes).

1st Shift, flexible schedule options:

  • 5x8 Mon – Fri (7:30 am – 4:00 pm)
  • 4x10 Mon-Thu / Tues-Fri (6:30 am – 5:00 pm)

2nd and 3rd shift available, 4x10 schedule options Monday - Thursday: *20% shift premium

  • 2nd Shift: 4:45 pm – 2:45 am
  • 3rd Shift: 8:45 pm – 6:45 am


What you will bring:

  • A β€œSafety First” mindset
  • 3+ years of CNC & Manual Machining Experience with tight tolerance and various materials.
  • Ability to interpret code/programs and make minor adjustments when necessary.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, bore gauge, depth gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written & verbal)
  • Blueprint Reading, ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
