We are a 38 bed surgical unit with the goal of providing excellent care to all of our patients. Working on this unit RNs have the ability to work side by side with some of the most innovative surgeons in the region. BJC's Gastroenterology & GI Surgery is ranked by US News.
We care for a diverse population of patients needing Colorectal and Urology surgery. Patient ages range from teenagers to over 90 years old. We are leaders in providing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) care.

Many of our patients are very high acuity and have multiple co-morbidities. 6900 is an excellent place to increase your knowledge and develop your skills.

163PCU is a 19 bed surgical progressive care unit. The patient population is comprised of acutely ill surgical patients requiring a higher level of nursing care and monitoring. This unit primarily cares for post-op patients admitted to the Abdominal Transplant, Hepatobiliary Surgery, ENT/Plastics Surgery and Ortho-micro Surgery teams. Secondary, this unit manages critical care needs for patients admitted to the Trauma/ACCS/Geriatric Trauma Surgery teams, Orthopedic-Spine/Recon/Hand etc. teams as well as Vascular Surgery and other overflow teams.

Also located on the Belleville campus, The Orthopedic and Neurosciences Center offers a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes physical, occupational, speech and hand therapy.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh is a 97-all private bed Magnet designated hospital located in Shiloh, Illinois. Memorial Shiloh offers a 24/7 emergency department, medical, surgical and diagnostic services including cardiac catheterization, imaging and laboratory. The Family Care Birthing Center features 18 spacious LDRP suites, two dedicated c-section rooms, OB Emergency Department, 24/7 OB hospitalist and neonatology coverage. The Shiloh campus also has the only Illinois Siteman Cancer Center location.

We are seeking a dedicated ER Nurse to join our team and make a difference in critical moments. Our ER team is built on collaboration, clear communication and a commitment to providing the highest level of care - quickly and effectively. The ER Nurse will work closely with physicians, fellow nurses, and medical staff to ensure seamless patient treatment; prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast -moving environment; support and comfort patients and their families during urgent medical situations.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.

The Emergency Department at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is a full service 8 bed Emergency Department, staffed by Registered Nurses, Patient Care Techs, and Washington University Emergency Medicine Physicians. We meet the needs of our community by serving both pediatric and adult populations.

Role Purpose
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

* Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
* Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
* Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
* Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
