Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Design and Analysis Engineer to serve the Air Dominance program in Berkeley, MO.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
- Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications
- Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

- Knowledge of Signal Integrity & Interconnect: Expertise in high-speed digital signal design, including impedance matching, managing signal integrity, and utilizing advanced interconnect solutions like VPX3's discrete coaxial/twinax cabling is highly valued
- Experience with High-Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC): How to integrate and optimize performance for demanding workloads within the constraints of 3U and 6U form factors
- Experience with hardware design and development, encompassing all phases of the product lifecycle from initial design to flight maturity
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and testing methodologies to verify system functionality
- Experience with designing secure architectures, implementing cryptographic protocols, secure boot processes, firmware validation, and secure communications
- Experience with Open Architecture Standards: Familiarity with standards like SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture), which leverages VPX standards
- Experience with Mezzanine Card Utilization: Understanding how mezzanine cards (e.g., XMC) can enhance functionality and scalability within 3U and 6U VPX systems
- Experience with 3U/6U FPGAs, GPU, and CPUs

Position Duties: Responsible for applying and removing masking materials on customer parts to ensure protection during various processes . The role involves preparing and setting up masking equipment/tools, performing masking tasks with precision and ensuring all masking operations meet quality and production standards. Additionally will rack, unrack, and pack parts as needed.
Example: Imagine there's a part smaller than a penny. You need to hold that part and place a small needle sized plug in a tiny hole on the side. There's 3000 of these parts. The work needs to be accurate, consistent, and done in a timely manner. You need good vision, steady hands, good hand/eye coordination, smaller hands generally handle these parts best, and attention to detail is a must. It's important to note that part sizes and quantities vary (small to large) based on what the customer sends us.

What You'll Do
- Upholds company policies and procedures
- Responsible for preparing raw material for masking to include, but not limited to, hand wiping and blowing out holes
- Application/removal of masking materials such a silicon or rubber plugs, tape and chemical maskants (paint) per customer specifications
- Counting parts to ensure compliance with customer Purchase Order and Production Work Order
- Perform a variety of modification and assembly functions (touch-up, preparation, rework, or repair) on a variety of components, assemblies and devices based on customer product specifications
- Get own parts and material from supplies or Masking Team Lead
- Helps monitor inventory levels and the request to purchase supplies and materials to meet production requirements in a timely manner
- Assists in the inspection of product and notifies the Team Lead/Supervisor of any nonconformance's
- Records masking details and any necessary information on the work order as required
- Packages parts to safely transport to production areas
- Accurately complete the necessary forms and adheres to scheduling due dates
- Works safely at all times and complies with all safety regulations while working with hazardous materials and chemicals
- Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner
- Works with a positive attitude and reports all questions or problems to the Masking Team Lead or Supervisor
- Maintain a productive work environment through accuracy, attention to detail and making sure the job is carried per specification in a timely fashion to meet or exceed target rates

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.- Slab/floor finishing
- Utilizing screeds/floats and finishing machines
- Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.
- Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
- Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.
- Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, with hand held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
- Smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
- Finishes concrete surfaces, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish.
- Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
- Molds expansion joints and edges.
- Sprinkles colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.
- Produces rough concrete surface with broom.
- Mixes cement with hoe or concrete-mixing machine.
- Use of hand tools such as; hoe, trowel, tamper, and scraper.
- Breaks up and repairs old concrete surfaces.

Expected base pay range for this position is: $25.00/hr - $33.00/hr
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. - Uses proper safety equipment to ensure surfaces are adequately prepared for all operations:
- Air arc, Grove Welds, Flex Core, Full Pin
- Using correct procedures to obtain proper weld profile, etc.,
- Understands general knowledge of welding codes and welding tools
- Proper preparation, cleaning, and setup
- Hand torch setup and use
- Understand basic weld symbols/gauges
- Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety
- Coordinates with shop supervisor and other personnel for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently, on time, and with no defects
- Adheres to safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and surrounding coworkers
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
- Need to be able to read metric tapes
