Estimation Engineer - Machining
Job Description
This is a high-impact, estimation engineer position with a CNC/Metal Fabricator in the heart of Chicago.
This role will help determine feasibility of custom projects for customers as it relates to costs tied to labor, machine time, materials, and delivery.

Description Quotation & Estimating: Review customer drawings/RFQs, determine required processes (CNC, welding, finishing), estimate machine hours, labor, and material costs.
Cost Analysis: Calculate overhead, profit margins, and total landed costs to provide competitive pricing.
Process Optimization: Identify cost-effective methods, suggest design improvements for manufacturability (DFM), and reduce waste.
Collaboration: Work with sales (pricing), production (scheduling/feasibility), and management (operational excellence).
Documentation: Create Bill of Estimates (BOE), track costs, and maintain cost models.
Work within various Costing Software/ERP proficiency.
