Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (including placement of IV).
Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted.
Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Other related duties as required.

Position Overview:The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Essential Job Functions:- Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist the physicians, nurses and other technical and administrative staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility.
- Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS
- Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and ensure the physician on duty is notified of the results
- Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty
- Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats
- Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
- Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
- Perform Quality Control as established by this laboratory
- Perform Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically as established by this facility
- Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years
- Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this position and document these activities for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or the Laboratory Director
- Perform duties as ER Technician as needed
- Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing

Position Overview:The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Essential Job Functions:- Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist the physicians, nurses and other technical and administrative staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility.
- Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS
- Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and ensure the physician on duty is notified of the results
- Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty
- Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats
- Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
- Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
- Perform Quality Control as established by this laboratory
- Perform Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically as established by this facility
- Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years
- Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this position and document these activities for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or the Laboratory Director
- Perform duties as ER Technician as needed
- Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
- Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
- Travel to all facility locations as required
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists specialize in using ionizing radiation to produce cross-sectional images to help doctors diagnose and treat patients. CT Technologists perform diagnostic Computerized Tomographic examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. CT Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Radiological Technologist. If less than one year as Radiologic Technologist must have advanced certification by ARRT in Computed Tomography (CT).
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (R).
If less than one year as a Radiologic Technologist, Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (CT).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced certification by ARRT in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
BLS certified. Six (6) months experience as a CT Technologist preferred.

8. Ability to operate all CT equipment and perform all CT examinations independently (e.g., be able to protocol them or work in conjunction with the radiologist) is required.
9. Must be seen as a resource throughout SAMC and be willing to actively participate on Hospital/Department committees as assigned.
10. Ability to relate in a professional manner to patients, physicians, the public and other health care providers and demonstrate excellent customer service orientation is required.
