The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. 

• Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist the physicians, nurses and other technical and administrative staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility.
• Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS
• Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and ensure the physician on duty is notified of the results
• Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty
• Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
• Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
• Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
• Perform Quality Control as established by this laboratory
• Perform Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically as established by this facility
• Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years
• Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this position and document these activities for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or the Laboratory Director

• Perform duties as ER Technician as needed
• Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
• Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
• Travel to all facility locations as required
• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• High School diploma or GED, required
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology, required
• Associate’s degree in Radiology, preferred
• Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state in which practicing required
• Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography required
• Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in computed tomography, preferred, with the following exceptions
  • CT certification required (Las Vegas Market)
  • CT certification required within 12 months of hire (Pennsylvania market)
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association, required
• 2+ years radiologic/imaging experience, preferred
• 1+ years of CT experience, preferred

This is a HYBRID Role- Fulfilling 2 shifts at BBEMC and 1 shift at the main campus. Share on-call rotation at BBEMC. 
Performs CT, and radiology studies of designated anatomical areas, obtains patients histories, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Must have satisfactorily completed an AMA approved school of radiological technology and be registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and licensed by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association. One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist and CT. Certification is required in CT. Certification in CPR is required.

Responsibilities: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists specialize in using ionizing radiation to produce cross-sectional images to help doctors diagnose and treat patients. CT Technologists perform diagnostic Computerized Tomographic examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. CT Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Demonstrates ability to perform advance CT imaging (Cardiac and Vascular) and is competent/proficient with cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. • Perform high-quality diagnostic and interventional CT scans, including CT Angiography (CTA) and cardiac imaging.
• Administer IV contrast media via power injectors while monitoring for allergic reactions and ensuring renal safety.
• Apply ALARA principles and dose-reduction techniques to ensure optimal image quality with minimal exposure.
• Cross-sectionally analyze anatomy while assisting radiologists with CT-guided biopsies and drainage procedures.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certifications

Required - Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible, registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of employment, and temporary state license.

CT registry eligible within one year.

Advanced certification in CT within one year of becoming CT registry eligible.

Preferred - Advanced certification in CT by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted.

• Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).

• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
