American Traveler is seeking a NICU Speech-Language Pathologist with neonatal experience and ASHA CCC-SLP certification for a 13-week travel assignment in Houston, TX.
Details
- Hospital-based Speech Language Pathology department serving NICU, pediatric, and adult populations
- Caseload-based patient ratios
- Performs Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and speech, language, and swallowing evaluations
- EMR: Meditech Magic and Meditech Expanse
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule; no weekends or on-call required
- May float to NICU, pediatric, and adult units
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Active Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Speech-Language Pathology; allied candidates must have active experience within the last 6 months
- Neonatal experience required
- Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) experience required
- Pediatric and adult experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Evaluates speech, language, and swallowing abilities for patients with impairments resulting from premature birth, birth injuries, disease, or other causes, and develops evidence-based plans of care
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement and assess patient intervention programs
- Candidates must demonstrate strong self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently while delivering timely, high-quality patient care
- Dark blue scrubs required
- Bare-below-the-elbows policy applies in the NICU
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
