It is all about learning and growing. Our Associate Auto Adjuster role may be a new career for you. There’s a lot to learn, but the pathway is mapped out and USAA is willing to invest in you! Our comprehensive, fully paid four-month training program includes all training materials, licensing costs, class discussions, hands-on training, e-learning modules, and the instructor led guidance will help you to support our members independently. We are currently seeking dedicated professionals to work in our Chesapeake, VA office, located at 1341 Crossway Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23320  as an Associate Auto Adjuster . Your work will focus on adjusting non-injury auto claims and you'll work under supervision to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and adjust low complexity auto insurance claims presented by or against our members. This will include the end-to-end claims process and settling claims in compliance with state laws and regulations. In this role, you will make a difference to our members as you deliver best in class customer service through setting appropriate expectations, proactively communicating and providing advice to deliver appropriate solutions to the member.

What you'll do:

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The six bed intensive care unit provides care for our Level II verified Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, pediatric specialists, cardiologists and general surgeon.  The PICU nursing staff is highly trained to care for patients requiring intensive care.

This unit consists of 16 beds dedicated to care of all types of pediatric patients from general medicine to surgical patients.

Initiates emergency support measures (i.e. cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury). Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene).

• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa

• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.

About the Unit: 

The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit at Mount Carmel East currently has 28 beds. They primarily see progressive care patients, low ICU acuity, fresh open hearts, lung surgical patients, heart testing, CHF, ventilated patients, wounds, and dialysis and procedural patients such as heart cath, pacemakers, cardioversions, etc. This unit is a springboard unit for nurses to either brush up on their unused skills or develop and expand skills in preparation for growing to an ICU unit, emergency department, and surgical services. 

About Mount Carmel East: 

Mount Carmel East features a fully integrated cardiovascular center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a dedicated Women’s Health Center, a maternity center, a Network Cancer Program, and a comprehensive orthopedics and spine program. We’re also home to Mount Carmel’s Level II Trauma Center, providing critical access to vital emergency services to eastern central Ohio. 

We’ve recently completed a $310 million modernization, making our 400-bed, all-private-room facility one of the best in the region when it comes to contemporary clinical services and patient conveniences. About the job: 

The Registered Nurse (RN), within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Staff RN is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of Mount Carmel Health System. 

What you will do: 

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice; Assists provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a provider, including set up of procedures. 

• Administer medications under the direction of the provider, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. 

• Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider 

• Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to patients and family members (diagnosis, disease process etc.). 

• Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines. 

• Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate. 

What we are looking for: 

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio 

• Current BLS/CPR

• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team 

• Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred
