Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a LeadMission SystemFlying Test Bed (FTB) Engineer in Berkeley, MO, supporting an Air Dominance Fixed Wing Proprietary Program. You will be joining a fast-paced program where you will be responsible for integrating and testing advanced tactical sensors onboard three flying test beds. Your work will include developing and planning tests, coordinating FTB modifications, and executing flight tests.

In this role, you will be joining a cross-functional team integrating next generation capabilities as part of a very exciting and critically important development effort. You will have the opportunity to operate in an agile development environment, mature our products through the development lifecycle, work on next generation open-architecture model-based designs, and collaborate across multiple disciplines.

The day-to-day activities of this position will be a combination of traditional design engineering, collaborating with cross-functional peers, and presenting technical challenges and solutions to leadership. Frequent interaction with program leadership, customers, and industry partners during critical design phases will be key elements of this position. This position will provide the candidate an opportunity to develop their engineering skills with potential growth into a leadership role.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of test plans to support key flight test risk reduction activities

  • Lead a team of test engineers and provide technical guidance to team members to ensure FTB milestones are executed according to plan

  • Lead the execution of flight tests to characterize mission systems sensor performance

  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to define FTB modifications needed to integrate advanced tactical sensors

  • Coordinate with Boeing, Test, and Evaluation and Tactical Sensors SMEs to ensure all development activities support the FTB schedule

  • Participate in customer led Combined Test Force (CTF) to support system verification and inform customer decisions and milestones

  • Manage and monitor team and supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for test planning, defining test configurations, and documenting test traceability

  • Lead hardware and software development, integration, test, and validation/verification

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 9+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education

In this role, the individual will be part of the Software Test team conducting software/hardware integration testing and formal qualification test (FQT) of Aerial Refueling and Mission System Software with a focus on leadership, quality, process improvement, tool improvement and test automation.

The Boeing KC-46 “Pegasus” is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per US Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft. The KC-46 is equipped with self-protection, defensive and communication systems making it more survivable in a contested environment.  

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the design, development, and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.

As a Lead Test Pilot you will have a senior leadership role within the flight operations team at Reliable Robotics. You will provide direction to the team, and be a leading voice to help guide the development of our safety enhancing technology. Responsibilities

In your role as Lead Test Pilot, your primary role will be to lead a team of highly motivated flight test pilots and engineers. You will also be responsible for developing and safely executing flight test plans in support of research and development efforts, and will fly the aircraft in both onboard and remote configurations. You will coordinate the training and scheduling of contract pilots, and help to ensure that all aspects of experimental flight operations are set up for safety and success. You will coordinate with Reliable's Part 135 airline operations to support standardization of pilot procedures across the organization. Throughout the development process, you will be instrumental in the execution of flight tests, data reviews, and proper operation of the system.

Basic Success Criteria

  • FAA Commercial Pilot ASEL with 1500 total flight hours, including at least 500 fixed wing and 500 turbine engine

  • Experience performing a secondary skillset while piloting (e.g. tactical aircraft, firefighting, cropdusting, SAR, ISR, law enforcement, etc.)

  • Current Second Class FAA Medical Certificate or higher

  • 2+ years of experience in an aviation leadership role

  • Graduate of an SETP recognized flight test school

Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Mechanisms/Test


Castelion is seeking an expert in the manufacture and design of complex mechanisms for our in-house hypersonic vehicle development. This role will work closely with design engineering and technician teams to build and execute on testing and validation efforts to keep pace with the research and development timetable of our products. You will be apart of a team responsible for serving as a critical node in implementing feedback from testing and validation efforts, streamlining designs and implementing manufacturing changes to quickly mature our products for flight testing and production.
