Summary

  • Uses effective and appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication styles with patients, significant others, visitors, staff, and professional colleagues.
  • Coordinates and provides patient and family education throughout treatment course to facilitate an effective transition of care.
  • Functions as a department team member to support unit and hospital goals and objectives. Participates in all phases of the performance improvement process, including organizational and unit-based patient experience goals.
  • Performs validated technical skills based upon clinical specialty and unit practice.
  • Utilizes technology and incorporates technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery.
  • Demonstrates leadership and team building skills including:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited Nursing program.
  • Knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.
  • Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty.
  • Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Upon Hire
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • 2 years relevant RN experience.
  • BLS, ACLS certifications.
  • Stroke certification.
  • Completion of a dysrhythmia course.

Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care including assisting the physician in diagnostic and/or invasive cardiac, electrophysiology, structural heart, and peripheral procedures. Provides cross campus coverage as needed. Cross trains for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and the Invasive Cardiology Holding and Recovery Area to meet department and patient needs.

Job Duties

  • Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment. Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping of the patient. Maintains medical/surgical asepsis.
  • Performs hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring during routine and complex cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures; assesses changes and appropriately treats.
  • Observes behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; documents and takes appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to scrub, monitor, and circulate for all diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, peripheral, or structural heart procedures. Assists and anticipates the needs of the physician.
  • Demonstrates effective arterial and venous sheath removal skills, including proper use of mechanical closure devices and manual compression.
  • Utilizes standard work to maintain efficiency. Promotes cost-effective care through maintaining and monitoring appropriate use of inventory and par levels.
  • Knows the location, operation, and care of equipment. Problem solves, trouble shoots, and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Specialized Diploma from an accredited school of cardiovascular science or
  • Specialized Diploma from an accredited school of radiation technology with cardiovascular experience.
  • Decisive decision making in critical situations. Exhibits critical-thinking.
  • Knowledge of current medical practice as it relates to diagnostic and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, peripheral, and structural heart procedures.

Summary

Participates as a member of the surgical team by scrubbing to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure while staying vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field. Anticipates the need of the surgeon and handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

Job Duties

  • Facilitates the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures and ensures that the operating room is a safe environment.
  • Performs appropriate surgical counts according to facility policy and organizes case carts for upcoming procedures.
  • Works in collaboration with the operating room circulator prior to a surgical procedure by preparing the operating room, gathering and preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains the sterile field using sterile and aseptic techniques and ensures that the surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely.
  • Performs in-between case cleaning turnover in the operating room suite.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Technical School Diploma Surgical technician
  • Less than 1 year
  • Ability to initiate, accept and adapt to constant change within a healthcare setting.

Performs finished carpentry including window and door trims and repair, replacement of wood/vinyl base trim, installation of wood trim millwork, installation and/or replacement of new kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, repair of cabinets, preparation and installation of new flooring, preparation and installation/repair of wall/floor tile.

5. Performs electrical work including installation and repair of wiring, troubleshooting and replacement of existing switches and outlets, replacement of circuit breakers, replacement of light fixtures, and other electrical repairs.

6. Repairs and maintains plumbing systems by performing general work including rough piping for domestic water and sanitary sewer, repair/replacement/installation of plumbing fixtures such as sinks and bathtubs, installation of valves for shower, kitchen, and bath, replacing washers, mending burst pipes, repairing leaks, opening clogged drains, and performing other appropriate repairs/installations to meet or exceed housing quality standards.

7. Makes repairs and adjustments to various appliances and equipment (e.g., furnaces, dishwashers, stoves, water heaters, refrigerators, electric motors, smoke detectors, etc.) and replaces appliances and equipment when necessary.

8. Performs general interior and exterior repairs including structural components (e.g., stairways, floor joists, and rafters), roof repairs (e.g., replacement, flashing repair, etc.), foundation waterproofing, masonry and concrete replacement/repair (e.g., walks, brick, paving, steps, curbing), repair/replacement of gutters, downspouts, garage doors, fences, gates, doors, windows, doorbells, peepholes, signs, clotheslines, fans, belts, and insulation. Changes the lock(s) in accordance with Authority procedures and makes or has made any necessary keys.

9. Starts, operates, and checks for safety and appropriate maintenance on a wide variety of small engines, hand tools, pumps, chain saws, and Authority maintenance vehicles.

10. May maintain and make general repairs to power tools and equipment such as chain saws, pumps, and vehicles, which includes checking and maintaining lubricant levels, timing, replacing, and adjusting worn or damaged parts.

Job Description/Summary: The Respiratory Therapist at MUSC Midlands provides advanced respiratory care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. This role involves performing diagnostic tests, administering treatments, and working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. The Respiratory Therapist ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Care

Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory conditions through physical examinations and diagnostic tests.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and physician directives.

Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.

Monitor and adjust ventilator settings and other respiratory support devices as needed.

Diagnostic Testing

Perform pulmonary function tests to assess lung capacity and efficiency.

Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis to evaluate oxygenation and acid-base balance.

Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and monitor respiratory disorders.

Emergency and Critical Care

Provide respiratory support in emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced airway management.

Participate in the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), ensuring optimal respiratory function and support.

Assist in the transport of critically ill patients, maintaining stability during transfers.

Education and Training

Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques, equipment usage, and disease management.

Provide training and support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on respiratory care practices and procedures.

Stay current with the latest advancements in respiratory care through continuing education and professional development.

Compliance and Safety

Adhere to all MUSC Midlands policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to respiratory care.

Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.

Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment.

Qualifications

Education:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a clinical setting.

Experience in critical care or emergency care settings is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.

The Sheeter/Cutter Operator efficiently performs set-up and operates a machine that cuts rolls up to 59" of paper stock into sheets of paper of a specific size and quantity. Duties are always performed while standing or walking next to the cutter on the floor or scaffold areas in the cutter area or the paper roll storage area.Β  Walk on and work from scaffolds up to 7-8 ft. high around both sides and the output areas of the press. Frequently use roll pushers to move rolls of paper weighing approximately 1,400-5,600+ lbs.Β  Use of mechanical or electrical hand pallet jack: lift and move pallets/skids with 1,500 lbs. of product. Β At Quad, we value your experience and offer a competitive starting wage, between $17.50 - $19.50 / hour or more for those with sheeting/rolltender experience.


We have openings on the following shifts:


5 am - 5 pm, Friday-Sunday - + $2.00 shift premium for working the weekend shift. Β If hired, you will train on another shift until you are ready to move to the weekend shift.




Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Order confirmation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Set-up and effective operation ofΒ the precision cutter:
  • Follow the pre-production, make-ready, and production-run tasks and instructions
  • Cross-train as assigned.

Examples of Powered Equipment used:Β Guillotine Cutter, hand tools from powered screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc., compressed air hoses, powered and assisted lifting devices, clamp forklift, scissor/man lifts, hand jacks, elevator sorting/staging platform, scanning devices and bar-code readers, and keyboard and touch computers.


Required Qualifications:



  • Previous sheeter (roll tender) experience preferred.
  • Be able to perform work-related functions requiring the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to read metric measurements.
  • Be able to read, speak, and understand Basic English
  • Must be familiar with machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.Β 
  • Computer proficient
  • Troubleshooting experience.Β 
  • Understanding of the USA dating system
  • Understand Lock Out/Tag Out
  • Be able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to quickly and accurately compare letters, numbers, objects, pictures, and patterns.

  • You must be willing to work overtime and on weekends when needed.Β
