The Opportunity
CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for multiple full-time, 9-month faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-earning), Associate Professor or Professor (tenured) in the area of optics and photonics. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: Space Photonics, Quantum Photonics, Lasers, Directed Energy, Advanced Imaging and Optical Materials. This search is tied to a major strategic investment by the University of Central Florida in Science, Engineering, and Technology.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. from an accredited institution in optics or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment.
Applicants must demonstrate strong research experience with a high record of scholarly publications.
To obtain tenure upon hire, the selected candidate(s) must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in photonics research and education.

Role Overview:
The rapid evolution of AI networks has created an urgent need for innovative fiber-optic communication solutions that incorporate photonic integrated circuits (PICs). On our growing team, you will drive the development of our core optical PIC technology through design, simulation, and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, simulate, and optimize passive and active photonic components using a variety of simulation tools like RSoft, Lumerical, HFSS, EMPro, COMSOL, Sentaurus, and Silvaco.
· Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to optimize photonic components.
· Design layouts for high-speed optical transmitters and receivers on tools such as GDS Factory, Luceda IPKISS, and OptoCompiler.
· Perform system-level simulations, integrating both simulated and real test data, using tools such as OptSim and VPI.
· Oversee assembly, packaging, and integration of PICs with electronic components on PCBs.
· Define and implement standardized test plans for photonic components and PICs.
· Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of high-speed PICs and optoelectronic assemblies, including transmitters and receivers.
· Define and execute reliability studies and failure analysis for photonic components, PICs and optoelectronic assemblies.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
· M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
· Experience with design, test, and integration of photonic components for telecom or datacom transceivers, including lasers, MZMs, photodiodes, and passive components
· Hands‑on experience developing and executing test plans for PICs.
· Proficiency in the simulation and design tools listed under Key Responsibilities.
· Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.

About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

Job Summary
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Heterogeneous Integration and Advanced Packaging (HI/AP). The School is interested in HI/AP topics including, but not limited to: bonding technologies for 3DHI, co-packaged photonics, 2.5D/3D HI technologies, advanced materials for HI/AP, system co-design and optimization, glass-core packaging technologies, and advanced assembly and interconnect technologies. Focus on system level demonstrations using HI/AP and circuit/system co-design are relevant.
The School seeks individuals with outstanding potential for research achievement, and a strong aptitude and interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as interest and experience in translating their research to commercial applications. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent. The candidate will also be associated with the Georgia Tech Packaging Research Center, which is a multidisciplinary research center with strong industry and government support devoted to heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging.

Position Summary
We are seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer to support electrical testing, troubleshooting, and production of advanced detector technologies, including microchannel‑based devices and electron‑multiplying components. This role is highly technical and hardware‑focused, requiring daily work on the production floor within an ISO 7 cleanroom.
You will ensure detector assemblies meet stringent electrical, vacuum, and performance specifications while supporting test station operations, conducting full detector teardowns, and maintaining test capability during high‑priority manufacturing periods. Electrical Testing & Data Integrity

Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and vacuum‑related issues in detector assemblies.

Manufacturing Support
- Work directly with cleanroom operators to resolve production issues quickly.

Job Summary
The School of Materials Science and Engineering () at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GT) in Atlanta, Georgia, invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in Materials Science and Engineering. Applicants will be considered at all ranks. The search is particularly focused on candidates with expertise in structural materials and fundamental structure property relationships in metallic systems, including materials relevant to nuclear, radiation, and other extreme operating environments. Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline, and a strong record of academic and research excellence.
